There are 2 showers and a four-stall bathroom on each side of the shower building, and they were relatively clean. It was very quiet and peaceful. With only 18 sites, there were not a lot of people and we felt like we had the forest to ourselves some days. Despite the hot weather in July, it was very comfortable sitting outside in the shade of the trees, and I was rarely bothered by mosquitos at all. Our dogs loved looking for chipmunks, which were all over the place. I went on a few walks with the dogs on the purple and red trails. We never saw any bears, deer or other wildlife besides birds and chipmunks.

Headley Overlook at 1,280 feet provides a view of Lake Hopatcong. Saffin Pond provides fishing opportunities although no swimming or boating is allowed. Bird watchers often come to observe migratory birds. Beaver inhabit this pond and can often be seen. The park is free with the exception of RV and tent camping which require a permit. For $20 you will get water and electricity (30-50 amp) hookup for your RV. Spots are wide and well separated. The park has clean restrooms and a bear proof garbage system.

There is a small store and kitchen and they offer a small menu of items for purchase. The night I was there, they had storytelling/ open mic night at the boathouse. This was super fun and brought back memories of summer camp as a kid. They have a swimming beach and canoes/kayaks for rent. Do be careful near the privy by the beach. We have friends who are…read moreseasonal campers at Harmony Ridge, so we decided to drop in for a weekend with our RV to check it out. We are SO glad we did! The people are genuine, friendly, welcoming, and go out of their way to make you feel like part of their family. Being first time visitors, the owner and son escorted us to our camp site and helped with parking in the best spot on our site - they would have even backed/parked my RV for me, if needed! The pool is beautiful and well maintained - the bathrooms, common areas, and snack area/convenience store are clean and well stocked. The fellow camp kids were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and incredibly kind to invite our kids along for daily adventures/games. The lake was peaceful and so much fun as we watched our kids catch and release an abundance of fish! Our dog loved the walks and scenery as well. The landscaping is beautifully maintained as well - the groundskeeper was out watering plants and keeping things looking beautiful - you can tell he has a lot of pride in his work by watching him care for the grounds. He even made sure to point out a massive frog hopping around to my kids since he figured they'd get a kick out of it - and they sure did! We felt like we have a private piece of heaven on earth while still having access to all the beautiful amenities that come with camping! This place is very special since it's not a far drive for us but just enough "removed" from our day-to-day hustle to feel like a true vacation spot. The views - no matter which direction you look - are magical. The sunrise and sunset are unmatched. While we were only at Harmony Ridge for a quick weekend trip, it felt like time slowed down and we could enjoy every minute of our stay. We were already booking out next trip as we packed up!! SHOTWELL -- I camped at a lean-to at Showell camp grounds. The shelter was great, had plenty of…read morespace for my queen sized bed and my double seater folding chair. I used my small portable generator for power/lights. Wood purchased at the ranger station seemed to burn better than any wood I found around the campsite so I used purchased wood to start camp fires then used wood found around camp. What I didn't like was the shower facilities are at another camp entirely, Lake Ocquittunk, and that kind of sucked especially when I went looking for it at night. It's about 6 miles away but it gave me the opportunity to pull off at the gas station for some snacks, still it's location is super inconvenient. This place is great for winter camping and although the shelters are relatively close to each other, it's so cold that nobody is out bothering anyone. I plan on visiting this place in the summer to see how the tent sites are but I'll bring a portable toilet since the bath rooms are relatively far from the better more private camp sites.

We really liked it the last time and were excited to come back…read more First, they have an excellent camp store, entrance area, beautiful well spaced sites, river access and great services, like wood delivery. All those parts are fantastic. There were a few cons. First, there is zero cell service at the park. While I know it's not the camps fault, it makes communication very difficult. The store/check-in area has Wi-Fi, which causes people to congregate there and clutters up parking, etc. A few nicely placed Wi-Fi zones would really help. There are not enough bathrooms overall. The folks in the no amenity areas need a functioning bathroom. The Porta pot is disgustingly, so they walk to one of two bathrooms. There are 3 toilets and 2 shower stalls, per gender. This is not enough for all the use. This was evidenced this weekend as the septic system filled and the restrooms was closed from 6pm Sat until 7:30 am Sun when the poop truck showed up to pump it out. There is nothing like being woken up by a poop truck running next to your tent listening to the pump. Everyone has the right to use the bathroom however there are just not enough functioning facilities for the value of people in all the sites Finally, my group of 8 reserved 3 sites. We all spaced out and followed quiet times. The 2 groups surrounding us must have had 6 tents each on their sites. Their kids were unattended, playing badminton on the roads, football in the sites and up till 11:30 yelling and blasting music. No one cared. Because there's no Internet, it was like a parade of cars and headlights throughout the night for people to go up to the office. You knew this was happening because they had to yell at everyone in their site that they were going up to the office to use the Internet quick. I think this camp has so much potential. If they could just make some of these improvements, it would be a complete game changer. Beautiful camp, excellent hosts around the office, but just needs a little more attention in some of the more 'necessary' areas.

Bill Hills Farm Tent and Breakfast is located in a small town in Narrowsburg NY, it's somewhat close to the Delaware Water Gap and it's approximately a two and a half hour drive from Queens NY. TIP: It's on the way to Woodbury outlet, so you can do some shopping after glamping We got there just before it was dark, in order to gain access there, you'll need to first meet up with the owner Jane (she lived just down the block) and she'll direct you to the glamping tent. After a short 5 minutes drive into the wood, we got to the tent and since it was night time, we couldn't really see the outside of the tent, but inside- O-M-G- GLAMOROUS! Everything was wood so you still feel like you are in the wild, Queen size bed, lights and electricity, small refrigerator, table, fully functional toilet, shower with jets and a full size marble sink. It just couldn't get more inTents than this! After the tour around the tent, Jane was super sweet and asked us if we had any dietary restrictions and also what time we would like to have breakfast. We said no and then she said good night and left us to enjoy the song of the nature = cricket singing The next day breakfast was served at around 8am (thru our request), We didn't get our breakfast served to us in bed but it was atop of a TREEHOUSE!!! OMG moment #2, this is definitely a boy's (I mean MEN) dream come true!!!! Moving on to breakfast we had muffins, fruit salad, an APPLE SAUSAGE RING and scramble eggs.. I usually don't eat sausages but that apple sausage ring was delicious!!! So good that I had two servings! and I'm very critical about my scramble eggs but Jane was on point with the eggs, it was perfect- nice and fluffy, not runny and not rock solid. While we were eating, Jane suggested a few places we should check out and she even gave us detailed directions to each of these places.. she's just too nice! Unfortunately it rained both days we were there but still we had a great time hanging out in the tent and tree house. The town center itself is not big but it's cute in it's own unique way. Overall the whole stay was quite an experience, Jane was an excellent host and is super accommodating, the tent was amazing with everything well maintained, the food Jane cooked was legit! that Apple sausage ring so good!! I'm not a fan of camping but I will not mind coming back to Blue Hill Farm Tent for another glamping experience!
