I went to this restaurant and ordered the recommended Ruben sandwich. The sandwich was horrible because the corn beef, well there wasn't much off it, maybe 3 sad 1/4 length tiny pieces. There is also a lack of customer service as well, as they did not apology our accept the sandwich was bad, but did acknowledge there was hardly no corn beef. They did absolutely nothing to resurrect the situation. They actually argued with me because I took a bite out the sandwich and that they would not replace it. This place has poor customer service and poor food (at least the ruben). read more

The Panther Pub and Eatery, 5651 Broad St., opened to the public on August 1, 2013. Once again, I was one of the last people to hear about it. I must start paying attention! On Tuesday night, some friends and I went to the Pub for dinner. Two of us had never been there before and the other one (the one who pays attention) had eaten there recently. I had done some research and checked out the reviews and much to my chagrin; most of them were not very good; complaining about everything from the service to mediocre fare. Much like movies and books, I rarely listen to reviews as we all know people love to complain about everything, even if it is not deserved. With my head held high and a good appetite, I walked inside and was looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, I should have looked elsewhere for a good meal, but I'll get to that later. The Pub is spacious and the seating is great with lots of room. It was nice not to be sitting on top of other people and straining to hear the conversation at our own table. The décor was as I thought it would be - like a sports pub. The hostess staff was cheerful and helpful and our waiter, Robert, was prompt, funny and not bad on the eyes either. They have a small, limited menu consisting of burgers and other pub-type food. That is where the good ends and the bad and the ugly reared its ugly head. We started with nachos as an appetizer and the only good thing I can say is the chips were fresh and warm. There was little to no cheese and the toppings were, well I'm not really sure what the toppings were. I ordered a Cajun burger with their homemade chips and while the chips were really good, I took two bites of the burger and could not take another one. It was not cooked through and tasted "wet", like it had been taken out of the freezer, put in a microwave to thaw it out and slapped on a bun. Now I know Cajun and this wasn't it. On top of the horrible preparation of the "burger", it had no taste. My companions said their food was okay but neither one of them seemed very enthusiastic about it. Hopefully things will improve with their food as I loved the atmosphere and the staff. Unfortunately $20.00 for bad food does not make up for that. read more

The first couple of times I was here, I was underwhelmed. But the last two times I went, it was really really good. I don't know if they got a new cook or what, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for good bar good. It's definitely not fancy or formal or anything, definitely more of a bar atmosphere, but it's a great option for us because it's so close. The patio is great when the weather is nice and we have brought our daughter in her stroller a few times and it had been a problem at all. We will definitely be back. Lots of TVs, too! read more

Food is great and the atmosphere is so Greendale with unique sports photos around from the schools.

We played trivia there last Tuesday night and it was lots of fun, the winning teams won $30 gift cards, so we're definitely coming back next week to try to win!! It starts at 7pm, might want to get there a tad earlier to get a table with your team. Lots of good beers on tap and the bartenders were friendly. We didn't order food, but everything that people ordered around us looked great. The patio area looked nice too. read more

Can't comment on the food we never got any,except for a table of two on the patio we were the only people inside,about 15 mins later two women came in also,we said to a girl carrying a ice bucket that no one came back for our order.we put our order in the women who came in after us got there order which was wrong and they sent it back, then we were into 45 mins and still nothing she came back and refilled my water and said will be out soon after one hour we got up and left I can't imagine how they would handle a crowd it they took this long for 3 tables.seems like the problem is the kitchen I have to say the girl with the ice bucket was pleasant when she was at the table.i don't even want to give it one star but had no choice. read more

I went to the Panther Pub in late August, and had a pretty solid burger. My second trip was a disappointment, to say the least. The wait staff were taking people to their tables, and my waitress was unfriendly from the start. The place was nearly empty at 5pm on a Saturday, so that should have tipped me off. Still, I ordered a beer and one of their chicken sandwiches. The beer was fresh, but the meal was not. The chicken sandwich had two undercooked pieces of bacon on it, and it tasted like the chicken had been run through a microwave (as far as I could tell.) This was not a chicken breast, mind you. This was supposed to be bits of chicken, in a BBQ sauce. It was room temperature, fatty, and (to me) inedible. After two bites, I had to stop. When my waitress came back to the table, I told her that I would just like the bill, because the sandwich was not good. I didn't say that I wanted a refund on the food. Without saying a word, she took my plate and walked away. When she came back, she handed me my bill and said "I took the sandwich off your bill." and she started to walk away! I stopped her and explained that I didn't ask for a refund, I just wanted someone to know that it was not a good sandwich. She replied "When I return something that hasn't been eaten, it's going to come off the bill." and she walked away again! There was no apology, and aside from the refund, no effort to make me feel like I should give this place another try. read more

Just a bad experience all around. The $8.50 burger was thinner then a Mc Donalds,, wasn't made with fresh meat. The waitress was terrible, service took forever. The Panther Theme is nice, but once you see it once the novelty wears off. In a small city like this, and with Joey G's and Ricardos on the same block and serving much better food, this place is going to have to retool and start over quick or it will be over fast. Village Days was basically the coming out party for this place, and they blew it. Big Time. read more

Maybe 5 stars is overdoing it, but I cannot give 4.5 as I'd like. Our original intention was to have the fish, then we both decided to have something else. Brother had the Cajun burger, and reports it actually had spice, unlike other so-called Cajun burgers. I had the crispy chicken parmesan sandwich on a ciabatta roll, and I upgraded to fries, rather than Panther Chips. Everything was excellent. Service was prompt and polite. No complaints! read more

My girlfriend and I came here with her parents on Father's Day because they wanted to show us this place in Greendale they were excited about. We all left disappointed and guaranteed that we would not return again for anything more than what was a respectable beer list. The Reuben was extremely fatty, poorly seasoned and served burnt. I had the bourbon chicken sandwich, that was forgettable, and the ladies had mushroom Swiss burgers that they both said were extremely overdone. The chips that came with the sandwiches were also flavorless and rubbery. The service wasn't terrible but our waitress should have realized the failures she put before us and sought some sort of resolution; she never even asked us how anything was. I fear that when all of the faithful, like my girlfriend's parents see what this place has become, they will again find themselves on the opposite end of the block or back on 76th street. read more

They seem to have put some work in to make this place better. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich again and it is night and day from when this place first opened. Sandwich was warm and tasty, wing sauce didn't taste like it came from a generic bottle. Good selection of drinks. I think beer could be a a dollar cheaper. Okay three stars because two is too mean but not super impressed by this place! We went in October and the beer was not super cold and the beer glasses were not frosted. And while I don't mind If my glasses are not frosted it helps when the beer is not super cold. Food: okay-- the pretzel with cheese appetizer was okay but not exceptional and the chicken tenders were slightly over fried-- chili was tasty but a bit watery but the sweet potato fries were delicious. My husband got the fish fry and the fish and tartar sauce were bland-- he ended up salting his fish and he never salts anything! I got the Reuben because the waitress said they make their own corned beef and I figured it would be thinly sliced, lean delicious, corned beef. Reality: chunks of corned beef and not thinly sliced ( kind of fatty) and more kraut than beef, I literally took the meat from one side and added it to the other to make a sandwich in one half and still I thought the portion of meat was lacking. Also, no side of dressing to dip and limited dressing in the sandwich. Overall an overpriced, disappointing experience-- the only redeeming quality were the cool photos on the wall of local high school athletes. read more

Overall great experience! I went to the Panther Pub on Friday for the Packer game with a group of friends. We ordered dozens of wings and had a couple pitchers of beer. The wings were surprisingly good, comparable to Buffalo Wild Wings. They had a choice of boneless or traditional, we picked all traditional buffalo and BBQ wings. I'll definitely come back for more and explore the rest of the food and beer menu. read more

We tried it for the first time after waiting a while for them to work out the kinks. First impression was the list of draft beers was very short, after you subtract the ubiquitous selections like Bud light, Miller Lite, Blue Moon, etc. I ordered the 'special', the Tuna Melt with pub chips. What I got was a cold tuna salad on cold toast with 2 cold american cheese slices on it. Nothing melt-y about it. But both the waitress and the manager assured me they saw one come out of the kitchen earlier that was all bubbly and hot. In fact they both said the exact same thing. Really? And NOW the kitchen forgot how to make the special? My husband ordered the Reuben with pub chips. He said it was very fatty, so I took a bite and wanted to spit it out because it was so fatty! Pub chips with both sandwiches were cold and chewy. All in all...blech! Manager took both sandwiches off the bill and only charged us for the two draft beers. And since it was happy hour I thought $9.50 was a little steep for those. I guess we have to wait longer for the kinks to get worked out completely. After 20 minutes without even water being served, and zero attention from the waitresses even after making eye contact, we decided to leave. We initially tried this restaurant because it was a gorgeous summer evening and they have a patio. We have since become regular customers. The burger is delicious and there are enough items on the menu to satisfy everyone's taste. We always feel welcomed, and the staff was hustling on a recent Friday night to keep up with the crowd. The cost of a burger is extremely expensive considering that you have to pay extra for fries and $2.00 for a glass of soda with no refills offered.Our orders were placed incorrectly then I find out employees get a discount but a customer gets the screw you feeling and excuses for the incorrect order. Asked for cheese and bacon on the Panther Burger but never got the bacon but after pointing this out I was offered bacon on the side. What was I going to do with bacon on the side? The atmosphere is a high school hang out with gum chewing waitresses but minus the soda bar and with an alcoholic bar. Hopefully the owners friends can support the place because customers here for the first time really aren't made to feel very welcome. I did not see the previous reviews or I would have steered clear of this place for another month and then check to see if it is still open. Stopped in yesterday for an early dinner with my husband and two children. Waited at the hostess station for a good while before anyone acknowledged us. There was an employee right there behind it also who just gave us a blind eye. Place was fairly empty and quiet. Not at all an issue as we brought our almost three year old daughter. (Quiet is perfect for us as we don't want to disturb others in case she is a little out of hand) Decided to sit on the patio, very spacious and nice. My husband and I both ordered burgers, and my daughter wanted mac 'n cheese with a side of fruit. When our food arrived, it looked good but after biting in, my opinions changed. Ordered La Hamburgesa (Sp?) on a pretzel bun. First off, I choose the pretzel bun as I know they should be soft on the inside. The bun was ROCK hard. My Husband ordered the Hangover and to his delight he said it wasn't bad but he's had better. His pretzel bun was much softer. The chips were good, my husbands fries just looked pathetic. Onto the mac n' cheese and fruit. The fruit looked like it had been sitting out and the pieces were huge! Too big for myself to eat. I know kids can be brutally honest but when I asked my daughter if she liked her meal, she responded with "it's not so good." I was definitely excited to try this and came out very disappointed. Décor is nice, had a great feel when we walked in but highly disappointed in some of the service and food. read more
