When they say authentic they mean it-even their pasta is made in house- you can't find many restaurants that put that much love and care into their dishes anymore. Stumbled upon this place when, heaven forbid, Carrabba's was too long a wait. Don't judge my review based on my attempt to eat at Carrabba's; we were in the area and didn't know of anything better. Luckily, we came here. The exterior was questionable being that the shopping center it is located in is not the most well kept. The service was welcoming, attentive, and professional. Great service, wonderful food and the atmosphere to boot. I started my meal with a glass of merlot and a ceased salad. Highly recommend it. For the entree I ordered the ravioli, this was a great choice, the meal was excellent. Finished it of with a 2nd glass of wine and a tiramisu. I had a business lunch here yesterday. The location is in a bit of a run down strip mall off I-45 but don't let that scare you away. The interior is quite nice and service is excellent. The menu has some great choices for all preferences and prices were fair for the quality of food and service we received. There was a daily special of Seafood Lasagnia which I ordered and absolutely loved. Not many people there for lunch but I understand they are busy during dinner hours. Came to this place because of the reviews and we were craving Italian food before our run the next day. We ordered the meatballs, 3 cheese ravioli, lobster bisque, and chicken fettuccini alfredo (they will make it for you). Unfortunately the food did not live up the the 5 star reviews. The bread tasted stale even though we went at a busy time (Friday at 830), the fettuccini was bland and only had a small portion of chicken especially for a 20$ plate. I have to agree with one reviewer who stated the meatballs were too dense and lacked flavor. Lobster bisque had decent flavor but the consistency was as thin as water. The ravioli was the only thing we both enjoyed. Pretty unsatisfying meal especially because of the high rating, we were really hoping to have a better experience than the chain italian restaurants. Went for the first time last night. We had never been there, but because of the reviews, we were giving it a try. We arrived a 6 pm. There was only one table with guests. We began to wonder if we had made a mistake. We were greeted immediately by the manager. He was very polite and accommodating. As soon as we were seated, our waitress was there and helped seating us. The entire night was perfect (except, they have beer and wine only). The food was excellent!!! I don't understand why there were not customers. Outstanding! This little gem just opened and I am beyond impressed with how few kinks they had like I would expect any new restaurant to be working out after just opening. My wife and I shared the croquettes ravioli and Porkchop and everything was refreshingly amazing. The flavors and the portions and the service specifically! Their food is also very reasonably priced especially compared to some of the nearby Woodlands restaurants which like to charge $30 for a pasta dish just because it's in "the Woodlands". Husband and I came here with high expectations, based on the 4.5 stars on Yelp and so many glowing reviews. Was let down, to say the least. First red flag was that the restaurant was completely empty when we walked in, and remained empty except for us the entire time we were there. Second red flag was that the menu appeared different than what I saw on Yelp. Very generic-appearing menu with typos, subtle differences in dishes offered, although the descriptions appeared to be the same in some cases (e.g. Photos of menu on Yelp show a "teres minor" steak and croquettes. Menu at our visit had steak but without the name "teres minor" and no croquettes). We had a wedge salad to start. Iceburg and bacon were crisp, but the dressing tasted like it came from a store-bought bottle. The sauce on my clam linguine was very heavy and thick, not the thin white wine sauce I was expecting. There was no crab meat as promised on the menu description, nor were there micro greens garnishing my dish as seen on previous Yelp photos. The redeeming qualities to our experience were the service. Our waiter was very attentive, polite, and professional. They accommodated my husband's request for pasta carbonara, which wasn't on the menu, and he was actually very satisfied with his dish. I am thinking that there has been a change in management (someone please correct me if I am wrong). Sad, because I had been waiting months to try this place. The food felt overpriced for what we got, and was more on par with Olive Garden than the authentic Italian food I was expecting. We went to Taco Bell immediately afterwards for dinner #2 because I was so unsatisfied and just wanted something that would taste the way I expected it to. My family and I had the immense pleasure of having our weekly family night dinner here yesterday. This restaurant is at the same location as the old "Capri" Italian restaurant, on the north feeder between Rayford Rd and Robinson Rd, next to the Firestone auto center. They have renovated and redecorated the interior to an understated elegance. The staff was friendly and attentive to all of our needs and had the time to talk to all of us. All throughout the meal, there were arias from famous Italian operas, as well as cuts from various Andrea Bocelli cd's, completing the ambiance. This compares with places like Olive Garden, which seems to believe that having Big Band Rock-a-billy blasting forth is right for an Italian restaurant. Too, there is no TV, so there are no needless distractions to culinary appreciation. The food, to put it simply, was superb. We split three appetizers between all of us. I had the three-cheese ravioli that melted in my mouth. I do not remember what the others had, but judging by the contented sighs as they ate their dinner, I could tell that they were enjoying their meal. At present, patrons may bring their own wine. However, the management advised us that they were going to receive soon their wine vending licence, so I do not know if it will still be permitted to bring one's own wine. If you can still bring wine, a good Super Tuscan will go great with anything on the menu. Papa Amadeus is a refreshing addition to the Spring/Woodlands restaurant scene and I highly recommend it for a cozy, delicious meal. read more

They had bottles starting off at 30-100ish but he recommended a chianti that was off menu that he would sell to us so we ended up getting 2 1/2 glasses. The bread on the house with the olive oil was delish! We started off w the meatballs and oh em gee yummy! I got the ravioli and I highly recommend it..I didn't even want to share with my boyfriend!!!! He ordered the lasagna. I felt the lasagna tasted better the next day ;)!!! Now for dessert..get the tiramisu! I mean I've had plenty of tiramisu in my lifetime but this one I devoured and didn't want to share with my boyfriend again lol! Took my wife out to eat for our five year anniversary, and I must say we made and excellent choice. Let me start off by saying how welcoming the atmosphere felt when we walked in, we were greeted immediately and we were able to be seated in a timely manner. Our server was very courteous and gave us a variety of drink choices. My wife went with a red wine and I went with a beer! We started off with Fritto Mistto as our appetizer and it was delicious! For our entrees we selected the Chicken Piccata and the Chicken Marsala. I must say after eating at many Italian restaurants through the years this by far is the most authentic and best tasting. As for desert we split the Chocalate Rum Cake and it was superb. This was our first time eating at Papa Amadeus and definitely won't be our last! Such a wonderful, quaint place to enjoy great food! Don't worry about the location either, the food/atmosphere/people will have you thinking that you are dining at an inner loop fine dining restaurant. The chef prepares all the food from scratch, and cooks it in front of you in an open space kitchen. The salmon carpaccio is delicately sliced, and tasted like we just caught it out of the ocean. The Caesar salad had so much flavor, even I was surprised. We learned that the produce is from local farmers and the restaurant states "from farm to table", and it surely tasted like it. I had the stripped bass, and honestly, it was the best I've ever eaten. The truffle fries are fabulous, as well as the Brussel sprouts. We hope to see this place grow. The people and the food are just awesome! We are so happy to have a place like this on our side of town, and not in the corporate conglomerate known as Hughes landing or Market street. I really wanted to rave about this restaurant but I can't. After reading the reviews I had high expectations about the food. We ordered the prosciutto and buffalo, the meatball appetizer, the chicken piccata, and the pappardelle. The prosciutto was the best dish: tasty with good balsamic vinegar, tomatoes, and cheese and quite ample. The meatballs were too dense but the sauce was good; they need some bread in their meatballs to break up the density. The bolognese sauce on the pappardelle was meaty but bland; it needed garlic. The chicken piccata had way too many capers but the side of pasta was good and had a nice sauce. Hence the 3 rating. The prices are higher than posted online--about 2-4 dollars higher. read more

Friendly staff & owner and amazing FRESH food (you can tell everything is homemade). The owner informed us they hand make all their own pasta, which is really impressive. We came in with our 7 year old Son and while they do not have a kids menu, the owner was so gracious to make our son his own spaghetti and meatballs. The before dinner bread was light and delicious and their creme brûlée was the best I've ever had. They apparently do live music on Fridays and Saturdays but we came early so didn't get the chance to experience it. My husband and I will be back for date night for sure.
