    Beef Ravioli Fra Diavalo
    Mike R.

Its between Nona's and Zanti for our Italian Food fix in the Woodforest/Magnolia area. Nona's is getting 4 stars for our last visit, but at the same time it was a very nice dining experience. No appetizers for us his night, but the bread service is outstanding!!! Soft, warm, and with a nice olive oil garlic, basalmic dip. Straight to the entrees - My wife had the Snapper special which was tasty but had a couple of snafus that likely cost the meal one if its stars. I had the Beef Ravioli Fra Diavalo. At many Italian restaurants the ravioli dishes are not a full entree for me, but they don't skimp at Nona's. These were tasty with the appropriately spicy Diavalo sauce. Excellent. My wife's snapper was supposed to come with an artichoke, white wine, lemon butter sauce along with some jumbo shrimp. The dish was delivered with a crab topping, and the server noticed when he brought it out and had to have the shrimp delivered separately. Not a big deal, but the crab topping was not properly picked through and contained several shell fragments that took a little bit from the dish. The shrimp, once delivered were excellent, as was most of the snapper dish. Our server, who I believe was named Lance was very personable and attentive, and that attentiveness was what alerted us to the incorrect accompaniments on the Snapper. I also would recommend that Nona's leave off the standard broccoli and corn side dishes, and let customers order from the side dish list. The complimentary sides are pretty bland.

When you enter the staff all say hi and is SUPER welcoming. The pizza is absolutely amazing (brick oven) crust - without being too thick or too thin. I got to the Greek one on this visit. I also had the seafood combo which is a good portion that was not able to finish. The sauce is rich tasty and they don't skimp out on the seafood. My only complaint is that the booth tables could be a little longer - they are little shorter than the seats and little tight for 4 adults.

I celebrated my birthday here, and it was nothing short of amazing! Every single dish was absolutely five-star delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor with a a Toast of Dom Pérignon Champagne France A very special thank you to Robert Pennington, who took such wonderful care of us the entire night. His attention to detail, warm hospitality, and personal recommendations made the evening unforgettable. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend asking for Robert--he will truly elevate your dining experience. The night became even more magical thanks to Tati Dior, who sang a special birthday song just for me, making me feel celebrated in the most heartfelt way. I was also delighted to have Allison Hale join us, which made the celebration even more amazing and extra special. This was a birthday to remember, and I'm so grateful to the incredible staff and atmosphere that made it all perfect. I can't wait to return!

Why 4 stars? Because this is a solid addition to Woodforest. --- --- --- Pour one out for Wister's, but the local business market is not for the faint of heart. Enter occupant #2 of this space: Nona's Italian Grill. I visited the Nona's in the Woodlands a couple of years earlier and gave a 4-star rating. I had a similar experience at the Woodforest Nona's. Granted, our order was of the to-go variety, but we live close by, so it was as fresh and hot as could be when it came home. Chicken Parm aka Pollo Parmigiana: 4.5-stars. This hit the spot for what I was hoping for. Fettuccine Di Mare: 3-stars. The sauce for this dish was really bland. Especially for the price of nearly $40, this was a bit of a disappointment. Alfredo: 4-stars. Over the phone, I asked for a side of alfredo. What I meant by that request was that I wanted a side of alfredo sauce. What the girl thought I meant was a side of pasta with alfredo sauce. This unfortunate mishap turned out okay for me, as it was my wife that wanted the sauce, but I actually enjoyed the pasta. I ended up taking some of my seafood out of the other dish and mixing it in with this one. Next time, we'll be sure to dine in. And there most definitely will be a next time, because there are not many alternative Italian options within 20 minutes!

Ambiance was great Service was excellent I was expecting more from a true Italian restaurant. Pasta was not as chewy or al dente as expected

The bananas foster was a fun and special finish to a great dinner.

The food is incredible- perfect pasta, amazing seafood- the Thursday prime rib special also fantastic! We love the chicken Parmesan and the shrimp Alfredo. The calamari and zucchini are both superior appetizers. Dessert (if you can do it) is in house made and crazy delicious. Even the bread dip is out of this world good. Great service, nice vibe.

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. My only disappointment was that the menu described it as coming on a crusty Italian roll, but the bread was soft with no crunch. A true crusty roll would have taken it from great to outstanding. The girl at the counter recommended getting the hot peppers so I got some on the side, and she was absolutely right--I'll definitely be adding those to future sandwiches. My husband ordered the Danza but accidentally received the Dinero. He still enjoyed it and gave it a solid 7/10. We also tried the Chicken Parmesan. It had good flavor, though it was a little too bread-heavy for my taste. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were more than generous. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

It gives everything a cozy, charming feel with a lot of character. Parking, though, can be tricky. It's limited, and if you're wearing heels, the rocky ground and steep hill can make it a bit of a challenge when the lot fills up. We had reservations but arrived a little early, and they were able to seat us without an issue. Service was solid overall. The staff was quick to let us know what items were unavailable, which helped with decision-making. I did notice a dish being served that wasn't on the menu, and when I asked about it, we found out it was a seafood and noodle special. Two of us decided to try it. For food, we started with the sautéed garlic ricotta appetizer, which was a standout. It had a really nice balance of mild sweetness and savory flavor. The eggplant parmesan was huge and easily shareable between two people, with great flavor throughout. Honestly, most of the portions felt big enough to split. I ordered the seafood special, and while the flavor was decent, the shrimp were consistently overcooked and chewy, which made it hard to enjoy. The mussels were the highlight of the dish, though they reminded me of the frozen kind you can heat up at home. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to recommend, but if it were the only option in town, I'd consider going back.
