Why 3 stars? Because everything was just... fine. --- --- --- A friend recently told me about this place, and I could not believe I had never stumbled across it on Yelp. A 4.7 rating, Italian food, and in my neck of the woods. Somehow it just wasn't popping into my search algorithm, which was not awesome, because I definitely would have visited long ago if I had known about it. It only took me about a week to stop in after it was put on my radar. I'm so sad to say that it really just missed the mark for me. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. It was the true definition of a 3-star experience. We started off with some bread. It was... fine. We ordered some prosciutto and mozzarella for an appetizer. Again: fine. I liked the prosciutto, but the mozz was had an oddly firm texture. I ordered Frutti di Mare as my entree and this was the biggest disappointment for me. There was nothing special about it. It's what I would expect from an Olive Garden, or Name Your Generic Massive Chain. My wife ordered carbonara. I definitely enjoyed hers much more than mine, but it was also just okay. We both agreed that the fettuccine alfredo we ordered for our son might have been the most appealing dish on the table. I actually liked the house salad, but my wife was not a fan of the dressing. For dessert, we ordered limoncello. It was, you guessed it, fine. I hate to be so negative about a small business, but it would be disingenuous to hype up an experience that did not live up to expectations from start to finish. Our server was nice and attentive, but the food was a miss across the board.

We had the mussels for appetizers which is in a yummy, cream sauce. The buttered rolls were our 4 year old's favorite. Husband had the braciole and I had the fish of the day. Delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They weren't very busy for a Saturday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Pollo Saltinbocca with cockroach

Food was great until I found a cockroach in my leftovers. Extremely disgusted knowing I already consumed half the plate before realizing there were roaches in it.

    Chicken parmigiana

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent Italian food, great service and atmosphere (piano playing christmas tunes during our visit).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Reasonable or would say low prices for quality food.Tried chicken plates, pasta with sausage, and calamari appetizer, all great choices.

Spaghetti was very dry - not close to enough sauce. Meatballs were overcooked and pretty dried out. Garlic bread was bland.

I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo with blackened shrimp and added blackened chicken, and it was amazing. Everything tasted fresh, the Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy, and the blackened seasoning gave it the perfect kick. My best friend ordered the Pasta Sampler, which comes with lasagna, manicotti, and cheese ravioli topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Every bite was flavorful, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. Of course, we had to try the Bellini, and it did not disappoint! It was refreshing, delicious, and paired perfectly with our meal. If you're looking for fresh Italian food with generous portions and delicious drinks, Adriatic Café Italian Grill is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back!

However, when the dish came out, it had very little sauce on the pasta. The server was extremely polite and explained that he asked for mine to have extra sauce and agreed that didn't look like what I'd ordered. He said he could add extra sauce, but it would be an additional three dollars, I declined the extra cost and ate half my meal. I've ordered this previously and the pasta was completely hidden in their delicious sauce. Their food has always been good, but this visit was definitely disappointing.

Marco was our server at dinner and recommended the best dish and wine for me: a glass of Chianti with the Black Seafood Spaghetti. We also enjoyed the warm bread, oil and vinegar for the table. Delicious! The kids liked the pancakes and fruit. My husband and I had custom omelets and the breakfast buffet. They cooked the same breakfast buffet items each day. The buffet included polenta, bacon, chicken apple sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit, yogurt/granola, pastries, charcuterie, healthy juices and more. Our kids ate free because of their ages. We would go back. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because some of the breakfast buffet items were not as delicious as they could have been. My husband had the short rib for dinner, which looked delicious to me but he said it was too fatty. He didn't enjoy it as much as others said in the reviews.

We did not sit there because it was hot. We sat indoors. It was just me and my child. Our waitress did not mention that kids (12 and under) eat free all day Mondays (and 10 am - 12 noon on weekends). I learned this from reading Google reviews after we had already ordered. After I asked, she confirmed the promotion and allowed us to add a kids meal since we had already ordered an adult entrée, which is the required condition. We ordered a kids' pizza. You can pepperoni for $1 but it's a free add on Mondays. Not gonna lie, pizza tasted off. Kid said it and I ignored her. Then I tried it and ack. We brought the rest home and stuck it in the fridge but it tasted even worse the next day. Tossed in trash. Service required frequent prompting. Like pulling teeth. I had to ask about the drink included with the kids meal. And yes Milk is an option. I also had to ask about the cookie that is supposed to come with the meal. We did not receive one. She said they had chocolate chip only as oatmeal and sugar cookies were gone. I said fine. We never got anything. So I went to the take out stand and we were told they were out of cookies. But they offered us a small brownie instead. Unfortunately however it contained nuts. For an appetizer, we ordered the cast iron spinach artichoke dip. The chip‑to‑dip ratio was not balanced. We ran out of chips way before the dip was gone. We also ordered the cast iron skirt steak (yes lots of cast irons). I requested medium rare. It arrived medium well and slightly tough however. You'd think they could easily tell this since they slice it all up before serving. It was not seasoned, but presumably that is because it is intended to be used with the chimichurri sauce provided. No salt on the tables. Overall, the experience and the food were marginal and borderline acceptable, but definitely unremarkable. Service is another story however. She was nice, just not very good at her craft.
