Visited the outdoor patio with a friend-first place since quarantine...it was set up well outside with a tent over part of it and some seating outside the tent-all spaced out...the hostess from last night, whose name is escaping me-I'm so sorry-was incredibly sweet and kind! Our server, Michelle, (hopefully that's the correct spelling) was incredibly sweet, pleasant, and accommodating! I couldn't have been more pleased with a dining experience! I am vegan, and there wasn't much of anything I could eat there, but I knew that going in, so that would be my only suggestion! I had lunch here with a couple of my buddies the other day as we were walking in downtown Lockport. We came across this little shop and decided to take a chance. Boy were we happy we did. If you truly like Tavern style thin crust pizza this is a spot you need to visit. We ordered a large pizza with sausage and pepperoni you could tell that the sauce is homemade and the crust had a great taste and crunch to it on the edges. So first time at this location, 2 of us, each ordered a bowl of soup (very watery not much flavor) ordered 2 salad as meal 1 cobb salad 1 Italian antipasto salad which had a ton of American cheese in it, was supposed to be all Italian cheeses and meats and a variety of different olives and it only had regular black olives from a can and 2 ice teas. Grew up in western burbs with Lou's, Home Run Inn and many other small private places. Papa Joe's is right there. Pizza Biz is tight and I love Papa Joe's. Solid and few many minor issues over the years. I think their Medium Pan is a great value and can feed you plus a couple lunches during the week. Thin Crust good too. I have not dined in so can't rate that. Let's face it all southside eateries could use a little lesson in service compared with west burbs and city. First time eating food from Papa Joes and it was terrible. I stopped at the one in lockport because I was on my way home. Bought 2 beefs and an order of fries. I almost gagged...... The beef tasted like it was all oregano and they were cheap on the amount of beef they give you. cost almost 20.00 and I will never eat there again.... Catered my daughters graduation party from Papa Joe's of Lockport and our guests could not stop raving about how great the food was. Had little leftovers as everyone kept going back for seconds! Would highly recommend the meatballs, ravioli, and chicken tetrazzini! The cucumber and tomato salad was also a big hit! Food was delivered hot and arrived on time! Staff was very kind and helpful regarding how much food to order for my number of guests and even let me call the day before to add on two additional items!! We called Papa Joes a week in advance to ask if they are doing carry out for Mother's Day. They told us yes they will be. We called the day before to arrange our take out order and they told us that we can call after 3:00PM the day of, to place our order. So now I have people at my home for Mother's Day. We call right about 3:00 PM and we were told they are not taking carry out orders. We stated that we had called twice and we were told that they were. They told us they decided that they were not going to be taking orders. Well now I have a bunch of hungry people at my house without food. The pizza here is very good, only thing I don't like is that when you call in a pick-up order they always tell you the order will be ready in about 25 - 30 minutes but when you get there and pick up your pizza you can tell right away that the pizza has been sitting out on the pickup shelf for sometime because it's never piping hot. If they would just tell you the correct time...like 10 - 15 minutes....you can enjoy a nice hot pizza pie. Other than this minor thing....the pizza is very good.....it's right up there with Pizza Mia....one of my favorites in the area. read more

We were hungry this evening and wanted to try a new place so we ordered from Papa Joes. There was a whole lot on their menu that sounded really good but we settled on two pizzas, cheese Thin crust pizza and a sausage and pepperoni deep dish. We normally order from another place but again we wanted to try something different for Joe's had a lot of good reviews so we thought we give it a try, we were all sadly disappointed. Now for deep dish pizza I generally go with Gino's east or Lou Malnatis and if I'm really feeling Chancey I'll order Giordanos. Let me say this pizza sucked, not just mediocre it just wasn't good. The pepperoni was good but that's about it. the crust was horrible. normally when you order deep dish you think hey it's going to have a really nice thick crust that stands up nope not this one. I have never in my life seen more tomatoes and sauce on top of a deep dish pizza there is literally inches of it. The cheese was OK proportionately but the sausage was very few and far between and didn't really like the taste of it, I didn't expect it to be similar to Gino's east but I did expect it to be close to Giordanos or Lou Malnatis. My son who normally would eat any cheese pizza even the $.99 kind you get from the grocery store barely ate a single slice and said dad I don't like this, again he's not real picky when it comes to pizza so I took this as a sign. So $40 including tip, i'm going to toss pizzas in the garbage and I learned a valuable lesson not to order from Papa Joe's ever again. The food is ordinary. Sauce tastes like its out of a jar or at least the Alfredo Sauce does. The garlic bread was a hard piece of Italian bread with little flavor. The breaded mushrooms are the ones where the frying oil seeps in when it's cooking. You know them we have all had them at one place or another. Ordered a 14" half Italian beef and gardinera and half cheese. Pizza was really good. Need to fix mobile app though. It asks for your CC information and then asks to enter the card type, which there's no place to enter that request. There is also a spot for the month and year of expiration but again, there's no way of entering that information. Your app needs to be more like your food. read more

This pizza is the best pizza I've had in a very long time. They are kinda expensive but well worth it. Highly recommend it.

I love their BBQ chicken dinner especially. The sauce is the most generic sauce ever but the tastiest I've ever had!! Pretty disappointing considering some of the rave reviews. Ordered a sausage pizza and wings with ranch dressing. They delivered a cheese pizza and no dressing with wings. The delivery guy wanted me to come to the door and open it to take delivery. I told him to leave food on the porch. He seemed confused by this. I had to ask him 3 times. They did replace the pizza an hour later and same drill with the delivery guy. He seemed bent on me opening the door. The pizza was average. Kinda tasted like a frozen pizza with doughy thick crust and very little sausage. Not what I would consider a thin crust as advertised. Would not recommend or order from them again. read more

I used to love Papa Joe's in Orland and since moving back to Lockport with the family, I have discovered that there is a carry-out location in Lockport. The wife had a business dinner to attend so I was on my own last night(Wednesday) so I thought this would be a great time to check out Papa Joes. saw that they had a 2-4-$20 chicken dinner offer for Wed. Called in an order for Chicken Tetrazzini & Chicken Vesuvio. The food was piping hot upon pick-up. took a bit of each and saved the rest. Chicken Tetrazzini was not. More like a bland chicken alfredo with mushrooms. They also used a penne noodle instead of spaghetti which made it hard to get pasta, chicken and mushroom in 1 bite. just not Tetrazzini. Not HORRIBLE, just bland. The Chicken Vesuvio..... I'm not sure what this was but it wasn't Vesuvio. it had this thick gravy all over. almost like a mutated marsala sauce. No capers or peas. the chicken was cooked well but because of the thick mutant marsala-like gravy, the chicken skin had no texture or lemon/caper tang flavor to it. the potatoes were cut properly but, again, drenched in the mutant gravy. a real let-down when you're expecting something completely different. I hear alot of people rave about their pizza so maybe I'll give that a try but will definitely NOT be expecting anything substantial. Where to start? My advice to the Lorenzo family: fire your Lockport manager and most of your staff b/c they are sinking your family business! The food used to be great. Not so good these days but I've gone back a few times b/c I USED TO love papa joe's. I keep hoping that it will become as good as it once was.The service in Orland Park is OK. The Lockport staff is rude, incompetent and obnoxious! Don't bother asking to speak to the manager when you have an issue, unless you are in the mood for a trailer park-style shouting match. He did nothing but agressively argue with me and talk over me. Oh by the way, if you see a deal on their website or online menu don't expect them to honor it. When I told the manager that I was looking at the advertisement on their website he said (in a very annoyed tone) "Well yea it's on there but we stopped doing that like a year and a half ago"..wait, what? Am I really the one that's saying something ridiculous? You just told me that it's on your website but you haven't honored that price in a year and half? WOW, can't wait to see your episode or 'Restaurant Impossible'. I am sad to see that so many family businesses are going under but when you have employees/managers who are rude to customers, you advertise prices that you don't honor, you don't update your menu or website for a year and half, the quality of your food is inconsistent... recipe for disaster. I will also be sharing the details of my experience with American Express. Papa Joe's is listed as a small business which they promote on 'Small Business Saturday'.
