I ordered online and it was done within 8 minutes. The pizza was definitely hot in the box when I picked it up. But for some reason, this thin crust pizza doesn't seem to hold the heat well. $17.58 for an XL Pepperoni and mushroom pizza that was not really special at all. The management at this location seems to be unable to properly staff and train the employees and the service/performance of this store shows it. In the recent past (a year or so) I've ordered from this papa johns and for the most part the arrival time is accurate and the driver does a good job of being closer to the "9:00" in "9:00-9:10" for example. No complaints with the delivery drivers for sure. But in regards to the food, I've ordered just about everything from donut holes and specialty pizza to wings and chicken poppers. Up until the past few months I was very happy with the food, maybe the occasional mistake but hey, stuff happens. Worst experience ever here. Pizza didn't show up anywhere near the time promised. 20 minutes later, called and got the answer that the driver had a lot of deliveries but he was "close". 25 minutes later I called and the same person had no idea where the driver was. I told her to just refund my money. 5 minutes later the driver was seen creeping down my street at 5 miles an hour. I told him to take the pizza back, since I already got my refund. So before I rant, I'll give you guys some tips, and hopefully you'll give your delivery driver a nice cash tip with some of the money I save you. Per Papa John's yellow stickers on some of their boxes: When you order a pizza, before you chow down, take a picture of it.(*whispers* google image search, right click - save image as. Make sure the pizza is in the papa john's box!) ;) The next time that you want to order 2 large pizzas, email the picture (I usually put PIZZA COUPON in the subject) to pjkyle@pjfast.com. (Buda's is pjbuda) Within minutes they will email a reply thanking you for the picture of your pizza, and giving you a promo code (that you can put in the Promo Code box at the top right of the papajohns.com webpage), for a free large pizza when you order a pizza of equal or greater value at regular menu price, online. This is a better deal than you can get from their text coupons, which are usually 40% off (occasionally 50%) You of course have to create an account to order, but you can pay cash when you get to the store, if you don't want to use a credit card. Our customers loved me, I made great tips, and I taught the other drivers how to be the best at their job, how to make great tips, and how to make a customer who stiffed a tip, after great service, feel really guilty, while not saying anything that could be considered offensive. Papa Johns has better than average quality control. I've driven a truck for years, and Papa Johns all over the country were one of my regular meals. Some managers are better than others. Some, like the one is Emporia Kansas (a few years ago) are the best. Dough PERFECTLY proofed. Perfect baking time, Perfect crew, and slightly more than average toppings, EVERY time I ordered a pizza (about twice a month). Others take shortcuts, overproof or underproof their dough (which is why the crust can sometimes be hard, or hollow). Good drivers can be hard to find, especially if there is no one to train them like I did with all of our store's Domino's drivers. If they don't learn to make good tips, they'll never care about the customer. To Jen, You obviously don't have any compassion or understanding. The driver was closer to you than the store. Yes, it was a favor that he was asking, trying not to even further burden his already overburdened fellow employees. who had to take up the slack of losing him as a driver, and you want them to cause disservice to their other customers, because you can't have enough compassion to deliver a lug wrench. If I ruled the world, I would tell every restaurant never to serve you, at least until you become a member of the HUMAN race, and care as much for others as you expect them to care about you. BTW, the driver probably would have given you the pizza for free, had you been helpful and courteous. That's what I would have done when I was a driver (provided he has the authority, I did). read more
