There is a reason why this location has a bad rating. Ordered 3 "GARDEN SALADS" from the App Menu for $7.99 each. First of all I didn't pay attention to the price. I can buy better wrapped salads for $2.49 at the grocery store. I rcvd a chicken ceasar and 2 chef salads. Called the store and was told that is all they had in stock. Was offered my money back or the $24 refunded on my next order. I am very disappointed in PJ's on not calling me when they noticed they were out of a specifically ordered item. In my opinion my entire order should have been immediately refunded in my credit card. Clearly the owner of this franchise location would rather deceive his customers than simply provide honest service up front. There are too many other options here in Manteca. The cashier would not accept my coupon for a takeout special. He said I had to place the order online to receive the special. Neither the Papa John's flyer or the coupon indicated the order had to be made online. What a disgraceful and dishonest way to do business. No wonder they are only rated two stars. Horrible customer service!!!!!! I should have read the reviews before I ordered.... I called in my ordered and asked for delivery.... the guy on the line confirmed my address and told me it would be ready in 15 mins. 30 mins later my phones rings and it's him telling me my order is ready for pick up.... to my confusion I asked him if they don't do delivery. He rudely said you asked for pick up..... I told him that he confirmed my address and I asked for delivery. He again said no I asked for pick up..... as opposed to saying sorry for the confusion we will get that delivered to you right now.... which would be better customer service. Also the guy on the phone was barely understandable.... I thought for sure he got my order wrong and was surprised he didn't. They really should hire somebody that is easier to understand over the phone and has customer service skills! The manager of this location needs to get their act together and have some sort of standards before they hire... maybe put them through a class on customer service especially since the most of the Yelp reviews have something negative to say about it! Ordered food from here on a couple different occasions. They have a sign outside saying $12 for a large pizza but when you call in they tell you it's going to be 20-21$ for a large. First time I hung up and they called me back asking what I would like to pay. Ended up paying $15. Second time I called I asked again how much it would be and they told me 21$ again. Asked why they were advertising for $12 if he's giving me a 21$ quote and he said he was just helping out and didn't know the prices. Let's start by the fact the yelp and google phone numbers are wrong. I don't have it for you because I don't care to go back. I was told of a special $7.99 for a large 2-topping pizza. I ordered 2 bringing my total to over $21. I asked how and was told it comes to $10/ea after tax - so tax is 25%now? The kid obviously was mistaken and the cost is $10 BEFORE tax. Guess that's why he works here. The pizza itself was not cut all the way through, so I had to rip apart my pieces. The toppings were mostly centered into the middle of the pizza (nothing but a little cheese on the 3-4 outer inches). I can't imagine I reason to come back. Totally helped us with the menu and made sure we got what we wanted. Now to the food as far as chain pizzas go this was top notch, like the commercial says "better ingredients better pizza". We always order online and get delivery, and never have a problem. Quick service (I used to order from Pizza Hut and it would always take 1-2 hours for delivery, even on weekdays!) and they actually have really good deals - sign up for their rewards and get deals through email. I Guess the reviews speak for itself. I stopped by today after picking up a deli sandwich for my wife at the restaurant next door. It was 2:14pm today 3-1-2017, and I didn't see anyone in the Papa Johns Restaurant until about 2:18 (No biggie, but you may want to take smoke breaks after someone is maintaining the walk in clients). After my 4 minute wait, I asked the lady who finally came back in from outside (she also had an attitude as if I'm the problem for cutting her break shorter than she probably want) "What are your specials for today?" I failed to get her name, but she was possibly in her 40's, very thin and very very short hair. She told me I could get the 'Ultimate Meats Pizza for $11.00'. I said sure, lets do that but please do not add Pepperoni. She told me, she has to make it just like the photo! I waited for a second, because I thought this was some stupid joke. Than I realized, she really must be upset that I came in as a customer to your business to place an order during your break!! I told her "That does not make sense, UNLESS IT PRE-MADE and you are sticking it in the oven, make it without the pepperoni!!! Once again, she said "I have to make it like the photo". This still boggles me!! I had to break things down to layman's terms for her. If this is a simple 3 topping pizza, and you only add 3 of each toppings, I just want two of those three toppings, 3 of each as you would normally do and charge me the same price. This way your business makes more money, more product, more profit!! She said understood, but she can only make it like the photo! Well Papa Johns, you can keep your strict pizza ordering guidelines, because I will never go back here again. Does not take rocket science to hire someone with a little common sense. After my 5 minute debate with your customer service, when I finally started walking out, she yells "OK I CAN MAKE IT THE WAY YOU WANT!" Today I went to Papa Johns in manteca because there was a sign out on the street that said $11.99 pizzas medium or large and 10 toppings well I called the number on the sign and said I wanted 2 large pizzas both combination so whatever combination of 10 toppings was I didn't care manager of the store told me it's only 4 toppings I told him but there's a sign on the street he said no just 4 toppings so I had taken a picture of the sign with my iPhone and took it into the store to show him what the sign showed and he didn't care he goes by the register and the computer says you can only do 4 toppings for the price of $11.99 then I told him he was the manager it's false advertising you have a sign on the street that says $11.99 10 toppings he still said he could not do anything about it I told him make me 2 large combinations and just charge me $11.99 he said no can't do it nevertheless I found waiting for pizza so I got two large pizzas for $11.99 each with four copies of each and I will never ever get a pizza from Papa John's there customer service is terrible and the manager who doesn't seem to know what he's doing for being a manager as far as I'm concern it's false advertising to get you in there to order pizza then they burn you.
