I have frequented many of the Indian restaurants in the Greater Seattle area and sampled various…read moredishes so when it comes to Indian, I have preferences and know what to expect. During Covid-19, it has been disappointing to order out because it is somewhat sad all the Styrofoam that is in takeout packaging. Not so with India House. My order arrived in all these ways which was pleasing: * could select no plastic ware - YAY * came in cardboard containers (rice in square takeout box, Malai Kofta in round cardboard container) and * delivered in a paper bag (super YAY). Not one iota of Styrofoam or plastic. Thank you!!!! I ordered Malai Kofta with garlic naan (of course it came with rice). Everything was reasonably priced and fantastically good. The sauce with the Malai Kofta was simply so tasty and amazing as was the Kofta. I have had this recipe from many places but India House has the winner. The rice was fluffy and perfect, and the naan was as I would expect: garlicky and fresh.

Literally everything I have eaten here has been amazing! The butter chicken I had tonight was…read moreflavorful and tasty. My mother had lentil soup and said the fresh cilantro really added to the flavor of that dish. We had a ground lamb dish as well as the lamb kabob and both were phenomenal. This is our go-to place for Indian food! I tell everyone about this place because as good as it is, it's alway empty when we come in! If you like India food, I encourage you to try this place, you will be hooked! I will cry if this place closes down!!

I was just visiting my friend in Kent and trying to find a restaurant that was still open on late…read moreSunday night around 9pm. Saw this place was open till midnight which was rare for Indian food. We were a bit skeptical at first, but the choice was either this place or junk food. We decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the place looked a bit sketchy. It was right by the gas station and the inside area was connected to the convenience store where people walked in and out. The eating area actually looked pretty decent and clean so we sat down and decided to dine in. I wasn't expecting much of the food and just ordered a safe choice, butter chicken and garlic naan. When the food arrived, they looked alright. I took the first bite on the butter chicken. OMG, the chicken just melted in my mouth. It was tender and juicy (not hard and dry). The sauce was what got me though. It smelled so appetizing and I could taste a different blend of spices in the creamy buttery sauce with a tad of sweetness to it. The spices were mildly medium, just enough to tingle my taste buds. My friend, who was not good with spicy food, couldn't resist the sauce and kept pouring them on his rice. Luckily there was enough sauce for my naan, which brings me to my next point. I had many dry, hard and burnt garlic naan before, but wow, this one was so different. It was soft, not burnt and tasty with a hint of garlic that didn't sucker punch my nose. I felt like I had eaten all the wrong garlic naan until tonight. Before we came here, we weren't that hungry and just wanted to get small bites and bring home the rest of the food. But the plan has changed and we finished all the food and we were so full. It has been several years since I've tasted Indian food this good. It brought me back memories of my first butter chicken that was just perfect and had the right combination of spices. Don't get me wrong, I've tried many Indian restaurants before and they were alright. Most of their food had a very strong smell and heavy flavors that just overwhelmed my senses. The spices were either too thick or burned my tongue. Nothing wrong with that kind of restaurant if you're looking for that. They might be super authentic or stick to their roots, but for me, this place just had the right blend of spices in their food and hit all the right notes for a non-Indian like myself to truly enjoy their Indian food and appreciate the richness of their cuisine (in moderation). If you could look past the hole in the wall place, you might find this hidden gem as well. Now the only complaint is I have to drive all the way down from Bellevue to Kent whenever I'm craving for their butter chicken again. :(

Ummmm. Very interesting. Let me start by saying the Skippers seafood was great and I will be back!…read more It was in a gas station which is fine but we entered from the front and had to look for where they cook the food and if they still were in business. We found it to the left behind a partitioned wall of snacks. No one was at the counter and there was a little bell. We had to "ring the bell" a few times to get service and then pay up front (where you pay for your gas). There was no one in the little dining area and It was very quite and it felt a little awkward eating in silence. I think it's quiet though because another person reviewed it saying the Indian music was so loud. ?? There were three menu topics. Teriyaki, Indian, Skippers. Like I said, the skippers fish and chips were good and The other items looked good too. Now that I know what to expect (and to use the side door). I'm sure my experience will be better Oh by the way, they do use Yelp for a 10% discount if you "like" them and they use door dash and grub hub if you want delivery.
