Literally everything I have eaten here has been amazing! The butter chicken I had tonight was flavorful and tasty. My mother had lentil soup and said the fresh cilantro really added to the flavor of that dish. We had a ground lamb dish as well as the lamb kabob and both were phenomenal. This is our go-to place for Indian food! I tell everyone about this place because as good as it is, it's alway empty when we come in! If you like India food, I encourage you to try this place, you will be hooked! I will cry if this place closes down!! read more

The number of stars is low because the chicken was very hard and undercooked. Or probably it was stale? I ordered butter chicken and the gravy was so delicious, I loved it but the chicken was inedible. I have never had such badly cooked hard chicken ever from any restuarant. This was really surprising. Other than that we also had the chilly cheese which is basically kadhai paneer and was delicious. I will try this place again but hope they give me cooked chicken next time lol read more

Really good, authentic Indian food. Got take out during the Covid-19 shut-in and was not disappointed. After reading reviews for numerous other Indian restaurants in Kent (and there is no shortage of them!) I finally settled on this one since (unlike most of the other Indian restaurants) it seemed to have a good number of reviews from non-white folks. Most of the other well rated restaurants have glowing reviews, but almost every (presumably) South Asian reviewer gave a 2 star or lower. Not the case here at all. Got the non-vegetarian dinner for two. It is a fairly significant amount of food: 2 keema samosas, chuntneys, raita, rice, naan, half a tandoori chicken, either a chicken or lamb curry, a vegetarian entree and a dessert. The keema samosas were fabulous and had a (surprisingly) seasoned outside. The mattar paneer had good flavor and the lamb curry was well spiced. The mint chutney was wonderfully spicy as well. To be honest, we were full by this point and will have plenty of leftovers. The one oddity was the rice pudding, which isn't the consistency I typically associate with kheer. I have frequented many of the Indian restaurants in the Greater Seattle area and sampled various dishes so when it comes to Indian, I have preferences and know what to expect. During Covid-19, it has been disappointing to order out because it is somewhat sad all the Styrofoam that is in takeout packaging. Not so with India House. My order arrived in all these ways which was pleasing: * could select no plastic ware - YAY * came in cardboard containers (rice in square takeout box, Malai Kofta in round cardboard container) and * delivered in a paper bag (super YAY). Not one iota of Styrofoam or plastic. Thank you!!!! I ordered Malai Kofta with garlic naan (of course it came with rice). Everything was reasonably priced and fantastically good. The sauce with the Malai Kofta was simply so tasty and amazing as was the Kofta. I have had this recipe from many places but India House has the winner. The rice was fluffy and perfect, and the naan was as I would expect: garlicky and fresh. read more

I ordered chicken tikki masala with no spice level and it turned out to be super spicy. I've had other people tested it out to see if it was only me who thought so and they said the same. I ordered 2 naans 1 plain and 1 garlic Im not sure if the naans are small but compared to other places I've got only half pieaces of both naan so total of 1. I've even called and told them about it and they said it was very mild with no spice. I will not be going back and if you want good customer service I would not recommend trying this restaurant out. read more

This is the only Indian restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life so I have nothing to compare it to. I ordered the butter chicken curry and chicken tikka curry along with a lot of garlic naan. From a blank slate perspective of Indian cuisine, the butter chicken was my favorite because it had such a creamy rich flavor with some of the most tender chicken I've eaten in awhile. The garlic naan paired perfectly with the curry and their basmati rice was very aromatic. The scene: I came here on a recommendation of a good friend. Overall I've been twice. You can barely see it from the street, as it's just one shop in the midst of many in a strip mall. Parking is ample, but strangely enough, there's never another customer inside. The deets: The first time, everything was REALLY, TRULY good. The flavors were not only authentic, but fresh and had a homemade spirit about it that made you absolutely sure this was great quality Indian food. The Saag Paneer was deliciously creamy and full of spinach, and the Fish Pakora appetizer was crunchy, light, and *perfect*. My lamb entree was savory, although I wish there had been more lamb. Side note: (My search for a 5 star spice rating that actually is spicy continues.) The second time, I ordered to go, but similar items as the first. Now when you take food outta the dang place and take it home, it's understandably going to be a different experience than if you were dining in-house. However, the food just didn't taste the same. Really disappointed with food quality. Hubby and did a pre-order to go through grub hub, for dinner. Lamb was tough, chicken was tough and did not taste fresh. Basmati rice was hard and did not seem fresh either, naan was cold. The only saving grace was their sauces are delicious and the saag paneer was delicious. read more

Holy Moly!! Ate there today and it was so good!!! Their garlic naans is the best I've ever had. We ordered chicken in a cream sauce with nuts and raisins. We also got buttered chicken. Really really good. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it was awkward because the server never took his eyes off of us while we were eating. First time here. My daughter and I ordered off the lunch menu. We had chicken masala, chicken and spinach, lentils, naan, and rice. All of which was delicious. The only reason for the four stars is that our booth seat had several tears covered with duct tape, which in turn ended up marking our pants. The pakora were dense and chewy, I get the feeling they were reheated from the night before and not freshly fried, they were closer to bits of falafel than pakora. The naan was doughy and under-cooked. The lamb saag was oily and clearly made with frozen spinach. Worst of all was the chicken tikka masala, the chicken had clearly been frozen and not defrosted properly, I took two bites of the chicken before I decided I was done. I stopped in last night to give this place a try given the good reviews. It was completely empty, which is odd for a Friday night. I ordered my usual 4* lamb vindaloo and aloo tiki as a starter for takeout. The aloo patties were somewhat oversalted and cooked in old oil, which is not to my liking, but the main dish was excellent! It was the correct heat level, full of rich flavor and tender meat, although the potatoes were a bit mushy. This place rocks! The food is unpretentious and satisfies the need for a perfectly flavored chicken curry. They don't have a bunch of specialty curries but all their basic curries are on point. And their nan is probably some of the best nan I've ever had. It came out piping hot: lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff here is amazing too! I felt like I had made some new friends. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. I felt at home and comfortable. Come here if you want an amazing and perfect chicken curry and garlic nan. Ok so my husband and I just had lunch on a Saturday at 12:00. Not another soul in the place which I thought was odd. The waiter could barely speak English and couldn't understand us. Its about time Kent got a decent Indian Reseraunt. They just recently opened.the food in devine. Great astomophere, staff is very friendly. I love this place. The food is not oily and it is made fresh. They even serve goat. The portions are good size. Veggie Pakora was crisp. Prices are good. Under $20 for entree and speciality naan. Will defintely be going back. They are open on Sundays. Not sure why it says closed. read more

They have one option of combination of Veg and Non- veg dinner for two and we ordered the same for us in veg. I am very new to the area. Honestly, I was looking for another Indian cuisine restaurant but they were closed which I had drove almost 20 minutes to get to. So I but into my GPS the nearest one close to my location and it lead me to the Indian House. When I walked in, it was very clean and I was greeted with a very pleasant and warm smile from the staff. The food is great and their complimentary chai tea is so delicious. I really do recommend visiting The Indian House, I feel that you will truly enjoy your visit. read more

Place has a nice ambiance, great ventilation, and each dish were delicious! They were not over powering with spices which normally makes my tongue go crazy after a few bites... Ordered their food through Uber during Covid and the food was amazing. I can't remember what we had but we went to eat there when they reopened because of our takeout experience. We ordered the non-vegetarian dinner combination for 2 which came with samosa, tandoori chicken, chicken curry, chicken palak, naan, rice, rice pudding, and raita. I didn't care for the tandoori chicken and samosa. Both were very fresh but chicken tandoori is not my thing and samosa was stuffed with lamb (not a fan). I'll ask for substitutions the next time. Anyways around 8:45 pm I called in to make an order, a man who attended my call, had was extremely disrespectful. I simply told him make sure the butter chicken is not oily. Because last time we ordered it was extremely oily and had I found a hair in it. He responded back aggressively with we don't have oil in the butter chicken. And told me if I don't like it go somewhere else and that pissed me off so I hung up on him. I would never go this india house restaurant again. Holy smokes! What an absolutely positive experience. I'm still drooling thinking about how fragrant and flavorful the food was. The serving portions were large and came on several well-prepared plates. The chef-owner clearly takes the time and gives attention to detail on every item. In fact, he came out and said hello to my guest and I. The restaurant was clean and well laid out. Service was excellent. We were greeted warming at the door upon arrival. This is my second time. The first time was take out the second time was at the restaurant. Both times the spinach nan was seasoned badly. The seasoning was not mixed in and I would get large bits of spice and salt. I figured the first time that it was just not mixed well. After a second time I think it's how they mix it.
