This is my fav lunch food truck for Indian/Bengali food. The truck is run by a Bangladeshi couple and some of their items are Bengali tasting; a cuisine which the Pacific NW is lacking in. The best part about this food truck is that they offer more than 10+ different curry options every day, along with samosa/chat/chai/coffee/paratha etc. I personally prefer ordering their vegetarian items because there is more variety of those everyday. My favs are eggplant, mutter paneer, egg curry and the occasional coconut veg curry or the bhortas they bring. And the masala chai is really, really good. Price wise I feel it is super cheap for the quantity and quality of food you get which is typically 2 curries + rice + lil bit of salad and a small roti. For 2 veggie curries it is $7 if you pay by cash or $7.50 if you pay by card. You pay a $1 more if you choose one or both non veg curries. They do have a few dishes which are usually on the oilier side (looking at you kala chana!) but if you try out their food multiple times, you know which ones are oily vs spicy vs mild. Or just ask them! (They are the sweetest food truck owners I have ever met). There is some scope of improvement though (isnt there always?): my main gripe is with the chapati they give which is something they buy in bulk frozen and warm it up before serving. Hope they can give a better quality of chapati. But even with that, I will look forward to coming here for my lunch! read more

AWFUL. They try and fill your box with salad so they can skimp on the actual food. Naansense is much much better although they may charge a dollar or two more. My favorite Indian food lunch option in SLU. I eat here several times per week and have tried most of the things on their menu. I've brought multiple colleagues here who also like Indian food and they too have kept coming back. The food is flavorful and tastes way better than all the Naansense trucks in SLU. The default option is white rice + two sides. The two sides can be the same or different. There are veggie sides and meat sides. This comes with a very small amount of salad greens on top of the rice. This costs $8.50 including tax when paying with credit card. Not sure if there's a cash discount. However, for only $1.00 more you can get a third side. I usually go for one meat side and two veggie sides. For me that gives the ratio of meat and veggies that I'm looking for. Lately my favorite order has been chicken curry and double okra. The okra is on the oily side, which I like as I mix some of it with the rice. Try different veggie sides though and you'll find some are and some aren't oily. Same with spice level (as in hot spicy) -- some dishes are on the hot side and some aren't at all. Note that if you get biryani, that will replace the rice. I've had the chicken biryani several times and while the taste is great, it's a little light on the meat (it has one small drumstick or thigh). If I get biryani + two veggie sides I find it's overall a little light on meat, and if I get biryani + one meat side and one veggie side then it's too much meat to veggies ratio for me. That's why my favorite order has become rice with one meat side and two veggie sides. Regarding the chai, it's $2 for a small cup (I think about 8oz). It's a good chai, nicely spiced. A nice addition to the meal. What I recommend is to ask for what you want as they are very friendly and accommodating (and of course depending on what you ask, it may affect the price). Want extra salad? Ask for it. Want additional rotis? Ask for it. Want rotis instead of rice? Ask for it. Want another side instead of rice? Ask for it... you get the idea. read more

The only saving grace is that it's cheap. $8.50 after tax for 2 items rice and "salad." Salad is a loose term. It's more like a very small handful of greens on top of the rice. Very tasty and affordable food truck lunch option in SLU! Only $8.50 for 2 item combo with rice and salad. I find myself getting food here for a couple of reasons. 1. It's just outside my office and the person taking orders is very efficient and although there is a line I never spend more than 5 minutes to get the box in my hands. 2. It's good quality and home made tasting Indian food. Yes, it's a little oily, but I know it's not too bad as after eating here I feel full and satisfied, but my belly doesn't have that heavy feeling and I can come right back to work and not be starving again at 4pm. 3. I usually get eggplant curry and either chicken tikka or lamb curry. Very delicious chunks of meat with perfect seasoned curries. The rice is on the drier side and it works to scoop up the sauces. The salad is unfortunately only a couple of leaves of lettuce and tomato. I think that on the days that I want to cut calories I will ask for no rice, just salad. The combo comes with a round, flat pancake- like bread. I sometimes take a bite or two of it and although I don't care too much for it, it's nice to have this additional item. I visited their food truck last week on Boren Ave in Seattle where I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and their Lamb Curry. It came with a side of rice, a single piece of naan and a small salad. Pro's: The service was quick (less than 5 minutes), and the prices were decent (about $9). Unfortunately, that's about it. Con's: Portions are tiny. A 3-4 pieces of chicken and 3-4 pieces of lamb. When I sat down to eat, I first tasted the Chicken Tikka because that's one of my favorite dishes. Chicken was a bit dry, but I'm not that picky and the flavor was "okay"; it had a little spice. The Lamb Curry was next and I had to spit it out. It was fatty and incredibly bland. I started eating the rice and found hair. Sometimes this will happen, and you either pull it out and pretend it never happened, or throw out the entire meal. Mostly, I'm the former. However, this was not a single-hair. There were hairs scattered through the rice. Approximately 7-8. I stopped eating and immediately regretted eating there. I see some pretty positive reviews on here, so maybe my experience was the exception rather than the rule. What I do know is I will not be visiting this truck again. read more

I have been to their truck multiple times and in recent times the quality has deteriorated. The food used to be spicy and flavorful, and now it is just weird at best. It comes with a naan and rice and the portion size is good for a food truck in downtown Seattle. They are really fast in serving. I believe I was in and out of the line in under 2 minutes with food. I am taking 3 stars off for two reasons: 1. They don't tell you that they charge a dollar for using a credit card. I have eaten there multiple times and the only time I realized this was when my friend ordered the exact same thing and paid less since he was using cash. If i had known, I would have used cash. This feels like a deceptive practice. I know a lot of places charge for using credit cards but these places have signs telling you the same (and so I know where to use cash). Over here it is not mentioned anywhere unless you ask the guy running the card. This is what makes it deceptive. 2. The food is lacking in spice and flavor and is really greasy. Their curry tastes weird (and I know my indian food). It is unlike any indian curry I have eaten before (not in a good way) and I eat a lot of Indian food. This truck comes to my office parking lot every so often. The menu was a little different from what was on their website. There was a selection of meat and vegetarian curries for $8, and when I ordered, they said that I could choose a 2nd curry to include as well. The box came with those, rice, salad, and one roti, which was more than enough for a meal. I thought it was a very generous portion for the price, especially when compared to other food trucks that we have. The food came out almost immediately, another huge plus! As for the taste, I'd say it was okay. Nothing outstanding, a bit on the bland side, but I'd certainly eat it again. read more

This food truck was parked in Occidental Park in Pioneer Square. I ordered the lamb curry and mutter paneer - both were bland and not at all tasty. The plate came with rice and a small salad about the size of my palm (half of a tomato slice & two slices of cucumber) with a tasty yogurt sauce. Both the curry and paneer were very small servings. Even the "naan" wasn't good. The one plus was the prompt service, but maybe the short line was due to the quality. Very disappointed. read more

I was once a regular customer at their food truck and even though they had poor service overall. I would look away at their very occasional mistakes. But this one day, really was the latest blunder amongst their million blunders. They change your order to something else sometimes. So this day, I ordered 3 Aloo Parathas and they changed it to 2 Aloo and 1 Paneer, But in the end what they have me was 1 Aloo 1 Paneer and 2 very stale looking parathas, which were very oily. They charge you 5$ for this awful food. I would recommend to stay away from this truck. read more

People complaining here about the food portion/how it is not spicy enough/ and how it doesn't taste like other Indian food they ate before, is just quite sad. They give enough food for a whole meal worth $8! I have been to this food truck and I have seen the line wrap around 2 blocks! There are other food trucks there on the same line. And This food truck's specifically located deeper in, where if you don't walk down a bit more you won't see it on the edge of the street like the other trucks. But while there was 10 people standing on one of the other food trucks which was more visible (and more expensive). This almost invisible food truck had about 100 people in the line waiting to be served. Their service is quite fast considering they sever 300 people a day, by just 2 people who actually who own this truck and cook the food and serve the food to the public! The food taste ACTUALLY LIKE REAL INDIAN FOOD. And the people complaining that it is not spicy enough, are the same people who would complain it is TOO SPICY before. The people complain here on yelp against this Food Truck are the people that works for the food truck next to their's who gets 10 people on their line instead 100 people that stands on the line for Spice On Curve! The food is delicious. The meat ball and egg curry is my favorite. I have been eating at this truck for awhile now and they show up at the south lake union a few times every week. Recently I had noticed that the portion sizes are getting smaller by month. It is much smaller than it used to be when it started. Increase the price if need but don't reduce the quality. read more
