Cleanest pizza spot ive ever been to... service top tier.... There was a bus boy/ man who was on top of it. No table with a dirty napkin and as soon as your done he was there to pick up the mess. Top tier!!! Food all As geez it was so good!!! A mist try! Packed but theyre fast to serve and deliver the food. Awesomeness... love it there. Definitely going back when in galveston! Pizza pep and ham delicious

Amazing place for pasta and pizza. The one slice we ordered was huge. Left leftovers for breakfast. The pasta Alfredo was also huge. I added shrimp they did not cheat me with just a couple. I had shrimp in almost all bites. The salad with the pasta was nice touch.

First impression this is a darn good pizza, pepperoni sausage, meatball lots of cheese good sauce served hot. Definitely one of those pizzas that you shouldn't miss while in Galveston. They have plenty of other things to choose from honesty is very important with their staff. I will be back.

Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: n/a - did take out Value: 5/5 Great pizza shop on Galveston Island! We found this place while searching for food near our hotel and it was a great find! They have a good variety of pizzas and great options for crust and toppings! We ordered a few pizzas, a calzone, and sub - all of which was hot and ready by the time we came to pick the order up. The staff was very welcoming and kindly offered plates napkins and utensils for us without us asking. I recommend for anyone in the Galveston area looking for some good local pizza!

Passing thru Galveston and decided to stop at Papas Pizza on the Galveston Seawall, what a great choice, the pizza was fantastic!!!! And what great customer service was provided by Ryan, as first timers he made us feel so welcomed and what wonderful customer service he is A+++. We will defiantly be back You also have a great view of the ocean when eating your food.

Saw this as we booked by on the Seawall. Love when a place sells slices. We ordered two slices of pepperoni. Pizza looked great. It wasn't horrible but wasn't the best. It was pizza. Each slice was $7.99. Two slices and a bottle of Diet DP was about $24. I should have ordered a small thin. Maybe next time. I will say the people they worked there were GREAT!! Said hi and bye to every customer. Location on the seawall is optimal for sure.

The Pizza was way better than our Homewood Suites by Hilton experience. 1 slice could nearly feed two people.

In Galveston because we leave for a cruise tomorrow. We decided to have some pizza for dinner and the place was close to our hotel. The service was great and quick. Friendly workers. The restrooms were rather dirty. Our food came out quickly but the pizza was super greasy which was a huge turnoff. We also ordered cheese bread and mozzarella sticks which were good looking but very bland. Flavor was definitely missing. The beignets were pretty good and soft. Greek salad was my favorite part of the dinner but the dressing was also very greasy. I'm sorry but I don't think I'd come back.

This is the place to go if your on a budget or want to feed a family and hop over for some Ben and Jerrys afterwards. Yes the pizza is greasy, but its pizza that's delicious. For less then $20 I was able to get some fries and a Texas sized slice of pizza. Before you say, "Rhiannon, does 1 slice really fill you up?" YES. Yes it does. I split it with my boyfriend and we were stuffed. They were really nice and gave us an extra soda on the house and even upgraded our fries to a large size due to us waiting for awhile (we weren't complaining) Go early for seating because this place gets filled up pretty quick. We came in around 6:45 on a Sunday and probably by 7:30 the dining room was getting packed. They do deliver so if you want to chill in your hotel room after a day at the beach, just kick back and wait for good food.

I used to love to come here all the time as a teenager/young adult. I would drive about 45-to an hour to eat pizza and wings. Well, I moved away and it had been 12 long years since I've eaten here and I gotta say it only got better. It's so clean. Doesn't look dated at all. They have a door greeter now. The food and ambience were amazing and chill. I love papas pizza so much, thank you to the owners for serving up amazing slices and keeping the nostalgia alive.

Crispy Calamari

This was my first time visiting Papa's Pizza, and overall, it was mediocre. The service is quick, and you order at the counter, but the cashiers weren't particularly friendly. Ambiance: The atmosphere is loud and bright, with plenty of booths and tables. There are a few TVs, including a large screen that was showing the big football game. They call your number when your order is ready. Calzone: We ordered the calzone with pepperoni and sausage. The outer crust had a nice garlic flavor, and the Texas size was huge--easily enough to feed 2-3 people. However, the sausage inside wasn't very good; the flavor was off, in my opinion. Overall, the calzone was just okay, especially considering the decent price. Calamari: The calamari appetizer was affordable, but it wasn't great. The breading was plain and unremarkable, and the marinara sauce lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the squid inside was rubbery, making the dish less enjoyable.

The interior of the restaurant is small, but interesting. The pizza making portion of their kitchen is visible from the tables, so you can watch them as they make the pizzas. Our waiter was super friendly, and the service was excellent. We started off our meal with the fried mushroom appetizer. Usually, when you order fried mushrooms, you get an entire mushroom dipped in breading and fried. Here the mushrooms are chopped into chunks before breading and frying. It came with both marinara and ranch for dipping sauces. We loved having the smaller chunks, because if you've ever eaten fried mushrooms, you know that when you bite into them , the juice can sear your mouth. By using smaller chunks, it was much easier to eat, especially when piping hot. We were surprised that they didn't carry banana peppers as a topping for pizzas, but other than that, our pizza was fabulous! We deliberately bought a larger pizza than we needed, because we were looking for leftovers. The pizza heated up well the next day! We would highly recommend visiting Mama Teresa's!

But as I was looking at the photos of the pizza, I was trying to understand why the rating was so high. It honestly just looked like pretty standard pizza, so I couldn't quite figure out the angle. But then our meat lovers pie came to the table and I understood. I can't quite describe to you what made this pizza unique, but there was something different about it. I think it might simply be that the crust was airy. Whatever it was, I really enjoyed it. Granted, that magic flavor tended to dissipate as the pizza sat and got a bit soggier, but I still really enjoyed it. My wife ordered chicken parm and she really loved it, but I thought the sauce was a bit on the watery side. Either way, I'm happy we finally got the chance to visit, as we've had Mama Teresa's bookmarked for a while now.

I got to enjoy all of those things last night in the company of our new friends at Mario's! Dishes we enjoyed were the Rigatoni in vodka sauce, pasta and Alfredo sauce but the pinnacle of the servings was the daily special of a freshly caught redfish, lightly breaded and sautéed in butter paired with green beans, served over linguine in a light creamed lemon sauce. Fantastic!!! The service was great and to top it off we indulged with their homemade gelato! Chocolate Hazelnut and Almond for me, a Grapefruit sorbet along with many other options we just had to sample. The staff is well trained and it was a pleasure to share our evening with them. We ordered two hh martinis. The house vodka is titos! Really great and perfectly dirty too our liking. We also ordered the muchachos. They were fine I guess. Pretty plain. Crispy with cheese sauce and that's about it. I think an Italian bruschetta topping without have been nice. It had something on it, but it was not nearly enough and didn't have any flavor. My shrimp parm was good. They leave the tails on the shrimp even though it's coated with piping hot marinara and molten cheese. It made it really hard to eat. I wish they would have taken those off. It's like leaving feathers on chicken. Must be removed before eating. I never understand why places leave it on. Well cooked and the sauce was delicious. The side of Alfredo was also great. I took the leftovers home and it reheated just fine and didn't break. That's really hard to find. I'll be back again on my next visit to the island if I'm craving pasta. This place did not disappoint.

Do yourself a favor and find one open next time you have the opportunity. This one is located inside San Luis Resort. Valet parking is free with a stamp they will place on your valet ticket. The restaurant is small and cozy. Sitting next to the Cove pool at twilight was very nice. We had the antipasto (italian charcuterie board) it was loaded with meats and cheeses and shared with bread on our table of 7. A little on the spicy side. We had our 3 older teen/young adult boys who came with us to the beach. 5 boys between 17-24 and they all got some bites in. For drinks the older had peach Bellini (which is frozen) and the martini. For seconds we had espresso martini and the sour. I personally liked the drinks not too sweet and the martini was dry with the espresso martini heavy on the coffee side. For entrees boys did some pizza the boglonase, Alfredo sauce with crab (they can customize a dish) and the chicken Luis was mine and delicious 10/10. Husbands had the shrimp Rocco a newer dish which was 11/10 for flavor and style Our server was super attentive and perfect. Now dessert. They have a large cart overflowing with deliciousness. And a huge oversized slice. My foodie son could not eat it all! Even though it was crowded, it never felt too loud, and our group of six could easily hear each other throughout dinner, which made for a really enjoyable evening. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return to the other Houston locations -- we'll just skip the snapper next time.

I've gone down 61st countless times, but not once have I ever set foot inside this longtime Italian culinary institution. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ordered from here, either. Mario's was on my radar for the evening on Wednesday after I toured the new Ball High (Class of 2000). I failed to resist the siren song of the dinner buffet, which takes place every Wednesday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. For about $17, diners could have their pick of the five or so pizzas in addition to entrees, pasta, salads, and deserts. I decided to have a slice of each pizza -- cheese, pepperoni, supreme, meat lovers, etc. -- since I was a newbie to the establishment. The slices were the usual hand tossed and not too thick. The cheese-to-toppings ratio was pretty even. Fortunately, I enjoyed each, so much so that I felt stuffed as I worked on my third slice. After pizza, I assembled a plate consisting of fried fish, potatoes, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken pasta. My taste buds were continuously treated to straight-up Old World Italian deliciousness. I couldn't get enough of the fried fish and chicken pasta. It took me a while to finish the spaghetti because I was beyond the point of full. I had no choice but to forego the chicken masala and seafood rice pilaf. Mario's, which has existed since 1967, has the undeniable feel of an old school pizzeria. Guests can actually feel the warmth emanating from the kitchen as well as the staff. When dining in, be sure to ask for Wyatt. He'll make you feel right at home. Whitney is another person you ought to get to know also. I believe that a lot of my Wednesday evenings will be spent here.

Friendly fast service, food is delicious. No customizations or substitutions on menu though.read more
