We picked this place because it was walking distance from our hotel, but we were very happy with our experience. The service was great--staff was really friendly. The pizza was tasty with a generous amount of toppings. I really liked the Original Crazy Fries. I think they might have been frozen fries, but they were good and had a good amount of cheese and bacon. We would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends and family. read more

I loved my food!! It was so good. My family loved it too. Very, very clean inside. It gave off a very lax and unpretentious vibe. It was our first time there. They explained their set up & how menu items come. (Menu questions) we got more than we expected! We had pizza, salad, pasta and a sub! One of each specialty. My only complaint was the parking. It was just ugh trying to leave. But other than that no complaints. Restrooms were clean, dining room was spotless. Loved the tv set up, very chill. This pizza was absolutely amazing!!!! I come to Galveston frequently and would have never guessed to try anything other than seafood out here but i'm glad I did. I ordered the Pepperonis Lovers on thin crust and it was so crispy, exactly how I like my crust, and all the ingredients tasted so fresh. The basil was a nice touch and I wish I added it on the entire pizza. The Chicken Alfredo pizza was also fresh and tasty. They didn't shy on the cheese which I loved but I can say they could've used a bit more sauce on that one, but i'd definitely recommend. 10/10 go try it! read more

This was my first visit in over a decade, and I must admit the pizza wasn't quite as good as I remembered from previous experiences here. Despite this, I still believe it might be the best pizza in Galveston. Pizza is one of those foods -- usually a dime a dozen, and every shop claims to be "world's best." Having lived in the midwest, west coast, east coast and the northeast, really no one compares to the northeast; however, Papa's is a hidden little gem on Galveston Island that is pretty great. What makes this pizza standout is they do not cheat you, they do not skimp on ingredients. God bless anyone who orders extra cheese, you're going to need a knife and fork, and bib, evidently extra means all the cheese possible and then some. And that alone is just awesome. You will not leave this place feeling ripped off. The staff is laid back and cool, considering they get hit by every tourist, they keep a good disposition. And are super fast. The ambiance is lackluster strip mall, and just meh, but in this case the location, being directly on the beach compensates for the lack of inside appeal. They offer public restrooms, but I believe it may be for paying customers only. If you love "hearty" pizza, while not the world's best, and not authentic New York style by any stretch of the imagination, it's really really good. I would highly recommended this place to a pizza lover, and to be found in south Texas, I'm pleasantly surprised, before Papa's I thought the idea of a decent slice in the area was at best Little Caesars, Papa's single handedly changed my thought process. read more

Looking at the limited menu on the screens, Sasha gave us the full menu and they have quite a few things. We ordered two pizzas hand tossed. Pizza came out amazing. Cheesy, greasy, sauces perfectly, and great crust. All around good pizza. Pizza didn't take that long to cook while we watched reruns of old boxing matches. We stayed 3 days in Galveston TX for the Fourth of July. Thank God we found this place across from the beach and just a short walk from our hotel. We went to eat there every day because the food was so good and affordable. We had the Hawaiian, Papa's deluxe, pepperoni and meat lovers pizza were all so good. The Italian salad was to die for and we ordered it every time. Garlic bread sticks and beignets bites were delicious too. The menu was extensive so we would have to live there to try everything out and wish we could. This local family friendly pizza restaurant was so busy yet it was impressive to see what a well oiled machine the staff was. Everyone seemed to work as a team and were very friendly. It's located a short distance from the pier and has a fun atmosphere. Can't wait to go back next vacation. read more

I eat Papa's pretty often but had never actually eaten there. Today a friend of mine stopped by for pizza and salad. The food is always really delicious. I'm not a big fan of placing an order at a counter and self serving my way through the process of getting utensils and beverages and all the things but Ryan who was behind the counter taking our order was a hoot! The pizza is better than expected and the slices are huge. They came out pretty fast. I was really wondering why the the slices were so expensive - now I know. They are like a small pizza. I think me and my 2 kids could have split one, but ended up pigging out and pretty much finished all 2. They have a big TV in the back that's actually 4 TVs put together. It's not quite as nice as one big TV. Guy taking orders was nice and were most of the customers. I know it's odd to comment on customers but seriously everyone was so polite and friendly. Got the italian sub, which came toasted and perfect. The italian dressing is delicous, all the meat and cheese was mouthwatering. Loved it. Also got the italian salad and the beignets bites. Wanting a greek salad, my wife and I found Papa's pizza that was open after others were closed. The Greek salad was good, not grreat because of the dressing. The salad was really good but another dressing would make it to the top of my list. I added the chicken to my salad anfbthe chicken had a nice flavor. The pizza is fire, you can tell the difference in the sauce, dough ingredients ect. It was also extremely thoughtfully delivered to my hotel room, with disposable plates, pepper flakes, and parm. The restaurant itself was cool lots of seating but the way they release your food got messy. I had ordered pizza, fried pickles, a chicken parm, and some beer, when they called my number I only got my pizza cause either the rest weren't ready or never got made or when they had my pizza ready they only read the pizza order, anyway I had to ask for the rest of my food which I could tell was made after I asked cause it was a wait. The beer I had to wait around until I asked again for it which is all minor you know, they're busy I get it but their fried pickles were the worst I've ever had and I ordered two orders of that crap. Sorry to be vulgar but I was mad I paid for that it was stale and not edible. Overall I probably won't return when in the area. read more
