Made a multi-pizza pick up order for lunch. The take out area is super convenient. Service staff were friendly and efficient. I wasn't able to stay on premises to have lunch, but I ducked into the dining room and was blown away by the 80's dining room. Will be back with friends to dine-in on my next visit. read more

Papa's Pizza place feels like a cozy cabin getaway that you didn't know existed. The interior lighting makes you feel so warm and intimate. The place is always packed with locals and the staff seem to be friends with everyone. The double decker pizza (pictured) is OK, it is basically two thin crust pizzas stacked on top of each other. The thin crust standard pizza (not pictured) is very good on its own. We usually get extra garlic with it. My only qualm is I wish there were non-fried vegetables. But, I will say that their fried zucchini and cauliflower are absolutely delicious- and frying water-heavy vegetables is difficult. Their garlic bread is also very tasty. 5:45 on a Friday night. 30 minute wait. Place was PACKED! Well worth the wait. Young lady who seated us had an absolutely amazing personality. Upbeat. Friendly. Welcoming. Our server Michelle, was just phenomenal. The vibe here is almost as if you are a guest in someone's home. Food was delicious. We started with garlic bread (1/2 with cheese; 1/2 plain), and fried zucchini. Both were great. Nice size portions. We had a sausage/sausage and mushroom pizza, a cheesy meatball sandwich, and a turkey club. Tasty, hot, delish. Again, nice size portions...we all needed doggy boxes. I recently moved into the area and have passed Papa's Pizza Place a few times but never stopped in until last Friday. I'm regretting that it took this long because I think I found my new favorite pizza spot in the burbs! After several rave reviews from friends we first, we stepped into Papa's Pizza Place on a Friday night. My husband and I felt transported to our youth, and we showed our kids how we remembered the 80s! Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, helping keep our kids focused and having fun despite exhaustion from the school day setting in. I stopped in for a pick up. Stayed for a glass of wine and mozzarella sticks while waiting. Place was clean, service was quick and attentive. Don't know what possessed me to visit on a Bears' game Saturday night the weekend before Christmas, but... After hearing nothing but superlatives about this place in my FB pizza group, I gave it a go! Now, I can live with the pizza coming out of the oven 20 minutes after it was promised. What I can't tolerate is a pizza sauce so mild it had virtually no taste. Ditto for the chewy cheese and crunchy but underwhelming ​​crust. Even the fennel seeds from the chunks of sausage that got stuck in my teeth were bland. I came here for my first time and it didn't disappoint. I actually found out about this place through some Fb pizza forum. We decided to come here to eat before going to Hollywood blvd. When you walk in, there is a carry out only section to the right and dine in option on the left though the door. We were seated immediately. It did take awhile for our server to come and take our order. They are family run and I believe a little short staffed. Once we got our order in, everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered hot tea, garlic bread baked with cheese, Mama's special - 12", and the chicken dinner. The garlic baked with cheese is hands down on my top 3. The crust was crispy, had a plentiful amount of cheese, and it had a great cheese pull when you bite into it. Solid 5. The pizza was thin crust, the bbq sauce was very conspicuous with each bite, and the ingredients were fresh. I did like how crunchy the pizza was. I didn't get a chance to get my girlfriend's chicken but the fries were wonderful. They were seasoned perfectly and crispy. No one likes soggy or mushy fries. Despite the hiccup at the beginning, I will now add this to one of my go to places for pizza. I'll have to try other items on the menu because they do have a variety of things. read more

Walked in and was teleported to a pizza joint in the 1980s!!! Good amount of seating, was given a table quickly. Overall service was good, we ordered a sampler with an assortment of fried goodies, those were just your standard frozen and quick fried tastiness. What is important is that the thing I came for was DELICIOUS, the pizza was thin and tasty (I ordered it extra crispy), you can tell this is a mom and pop place that cares about what they do and the product they put out. Terrible and obviously went cheap. The sauce is not the same as it was last year, and no seasoning. Sauce now has had a sweet taste. It used to have a tomato taste with the Italian seasoning on top. The thin crust pizza here is just excellent. Crust is thin, crispy and never soggy, even the middle pieces. When you get a pizza to go(we do), a card/pizza menu is stapled to the top of the box. Save 25, and you get a free large sausage & cheese pizza, or the credit on a pizza of your choice. They also offer a double decker, a stuffed crust option. So I ordered another pizza from Papa's because I couldn't really remember how it tasted. I got a large sausage, spinach and mushroom pizza this time. Their crust is cracker thin and it stays crispy at the edges and gets a bit soft and floppy towards the middle. The do put a lot of toppings with is great, but does not bode well with cracker thin crust. They are generous with their sauce, which I found very mild in flavor. I did like their sausage. It was flavorful, but not overpowering. Wish the middle would have held it's shape a bit better. You end up having to scrap the wet crust off the cardboard. read more

My parents have been coming here before I was born so it hold a special place in my heart. Solid old school Chicago thin crust pizza with old school vibes. No bar but they do serve alcohol. I can't believe I haven't reviewed our new favorite restaurant yet! We moved in the area 3 months ago, and I swear we've been there at least 5 times & 4 carry outs. There are a ton of places to eat in Woodridge, and it's still at the top. We first met Jessica & she is so sweet we now ask to sit in her section. Very attentive, and nice. I really wanted to enjoy Papa's Pizza in Woodridge, but unfortunately my experience wasn't a good one. The pizza we received was missing sauce, and the little bit of sauce that was there had almost no flavor, which made the pizza bland overall. In addition, when we first walked in, we stood waiting at the front for several minutes without being acknowledged. When we finally seated ourselves in a booth, the staff member who came over was rude about it, which made the experience even less enjoyable. Thin crust pizza is so good that no matter how much you have eaten you keep reaching for "one more". The fried chicken is great The beef and sausage sandwiches are great. There is not too much to dislike about Papa's except you might have to wait for a table. Oh by the way, get the mushrooms as an appetizer, you won't regret it. read more

Last night was my first time eating here. The night before Fathers Day, and here I am dining by myself, surrounded by many people yet I was eating alone. A very busy restaurant but it was a nice, quiet place to dine and gather my thoughts. The staff was efficient and friendly. The place was very clean and the staff kept it that way by immediately cleaning off the tables once the customers left. I ordered the Papas Special double decker pizza which was simply delicious. We went for lunch and without a reservation or phone call ahead, they had no problems accommodating our party of 12. Menu selections are plentiful, so I finally tried the fried chicken. It was crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Others had club sandwiches, meatball sandwiches, fish, and salad. Everyone totally enjoyed their meal.
