Ugh, my go to spot is no longer serving the 5 star food it used to. We enjoyed sitting out side, and COVID requirements were fine, but it was downhill from there. One of our party members was gluten and dairy free, and we used to have options because they always used the more expensive GF Tamari sauce. They don't use it anymore and the only option given was rice or sushi. I went ahead and ordered my favorite crab rangoon and was brought almost empty pastery triangles. Then the sushi arrived. Bland and a bit thrown together. Now I know I'm not at Nobu, but this was rice with a tiny amount of fish. Then the conch fritters :( my favorite food that I have ordered from them forever, they even catered my wedding. The conch fritters, they were a smash hit! Fluffy, conch filled little balls of deliciousness. The conch fritters I was brought were serving of grey fried food. It was a shame because there was a good amount of conch, but the fritter was grey matter that was thick and heavy. I had to send them back! I actually sent back conch fritters, my favorite food from seafood World I was then told by the waiter that this is the first time they're offering conch fritters and I must be mistaken with the fried conch. At this point I'm pretty over it. The gluten and dairy free person did end up ordering the Peruvian ceviche with wahoo w/ their homemade tortilla chips. This dish proved to be quite delicious as it always has been. This was the only dish they had been up to the normal standards. I honestly couldn't wait to leave. A friend and I went to this restaurant today for dinner at ther recommendation of others. I had the fried lobster sandwich which was great. I ordered a side of the yum yum sauce to put on the lobster which just added more flavor. my friend enjoyed the fish tacos. our server, Autumn, was exceptional, friendly, delivered quick service and attentive. there were 2 items which disappointed us: they were out of a few items to include their local punch and although they serve desserts, they do not serve coffee or tea. that made me decide to skip dessert otherwise I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The Yelp reviews drew me to this establishment during our short visit but we were quickly disappointed. I should have known better when the server suggested their version of the Big Mac, loaded French fries, and the sliders. But I started with the conch chowder after learning the owners are Bahamian. The chowder was more like chili with a lot of black pepper. The menu featured chargrilled oysters named Nola so I assumed the technique was similar to the famous New Orleans style but they were mediocre with heavy Cajun seasoning to disguise the "days old" taste. Because the server was nice, I continued to try other items she recommended as she explained the owners were also managing the seafood market next door. Surely I can't go wrong with the peel and eat shrimp, right? Wrong... I'll spare the details and simply say, this is not a quality seafood restaurant and the owners need to reevaluate their menu. Ate here for the 1st time, so good! The drinks are delicious. Tuna nachos were & sushi were some of the best I've had. Sushi is a bit pricey but I don't mind because the rolls are big, fresh & so tasty. Staff & service was excellent. Restaurant is clean. Started with the Stonies Crab Rangoons, ordered a second helping, Conch Fritters with Island Sauce and our favorite was the Panko Fried Wahoo Bites. We did call ahead. It told us that our table would be ready in 45 minutes. We arrived at the restaurant and got there 20 minutes before. Came here after seeing Papa's featured in an article for their pork pork belly taco. When we pulled up it was POURING and we were drawn in for shelter from the rain. The interior was welcoming as well as the servers. We decided to order unsweetened tea (bottled), pork belly tacos, a dozen oysters, and ceviche. We started with the tacos which were big but unfortunately the meat was little dry. Luckily everything else was delicious. The oysters were plump and fresh served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. Each oyster was $2. Our wahoo and conche ceviche had an even amount of veggies and protein but it was good. I enjoyed the amount of citrus and texture of the proteins. Lastly we decided to end the meal with key lime pie and was really glad we did. My friend and I agree that is one of the best key like pies we've had. I would definitely go back! read more

My office chose to have their holiday party here. My boss loves this place along with my coworkers. I had never been but heard great things. We were a large party and our server was great at refilling empty drinks, taking staggered food orders, and overall he had great customer service skills. My rating is based on the food I tried- Wahoo Bites- very good Shrimp Slider- average Little Neck Clams- the tiniest things you've ever seen. I don't even think you can consider them clams Lobster Rangoons- 4 little fried pockets of cream cheese- no lobster flavor, chunks, shreds, anywhere. Save your $$ Everyone else ordered main dishes and sushi rolls. I'm not a sushi person so that was out. The fried rice dishes and hibachi looked good but when I go to a place with "Raw Bar" in the name, I'm really looking for great seafood and it fell flat. read more

Clam chowder had good flavor but came out cold. Sea scallops lacked flavor and were sitting in a very watery flavorless sauce. Ceviche was the best part but pretty much tasted like a Greek salad with raw fish on top. Fish was fresh but flavors weren't there. Nothing special. Don't know if our party just ordered all the wrong things, but we didn't have anything that made me want to recommend this place. Based on the reviews and having a look at the menu I thought this would be a slam dunk. They burned me. My friends have continually made fun of me for recommending this place after bringing them here. We pull up and the place is packed and they have vallet in a strip mall. This seems very promising. I was most excited about the chargrilled oysters. My friends love oysters. We do damage every time we go out for seafood. If these oysters were legit we would be ordering a dozen or two a person. They menu says they come topped with cheese. I'm imagining something like new orleans style grilled oysters. A dab of butter on an oyster, a sprinkle of cheesy goodness grilled over an open flame to perfection. My mouth is watering as I order them. I'm waiting to taste amazingness. Instead what we were served was the microwaved burnt nacho version of char grilled oysters. They cooked the cheese to the point where it was no longer stretchy gooey cheese. It was a crispy and burnt plastic like glue holding all the oysters underneath hostage. They ruined cheese. Cheese! I love cheese and they murdered it. When i went to lift a scolding hot oyster, i didn't come away with one...no I came away with the entire plate. They were all stuck together and needed to be snapped apart from the epoxy like cheese. What was served could not be called cheese. It was formally cheese. RIP cheese. I can't believe they served us that. Lets just say i ordered a bunch of other things to save the dinner and everything else fell flat. The Kim's edamame was the highlight sadly. And it was just slightly warm edamame tossed in sweet and sour sauce. I came hungry and left letdown. Really hope this was a one off, but can't recommend this place based on my experience. There sushi menu has an excessive amount of cream cheese, asparagus, and veggies in the majority of the rolls they offer. Needs more fresh fish for what they charge. Stop watering down sushi at these prices. read more

I have been coming to Papa's Raw Bar for many years, their fish market also. They have the FRESHEST AND MOST DELICIOUS sea food in town, in the county. Truly. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Tara and Tabo, greatest folk. Kind, friendly, attentive and real. I love real people. Tabo made the bomb conch ceviche and delicious California and Shrimp Tempura rolls. This is the best sushi place around, truly. Fresh, delicious and portions are awesomeness.
