As usual, I got a combination pho. It is a tad pricier than some other places, but they're fairly generous about their meat as well. In fact, it was almost too much meat; I wouldn't have complained if there was a bit more noodle instead. The meatball slices and tendon were large, the steak was not over cooked, and the brisket was soft. Can't complain there. The broth was.....adequate. Not bad, but not that great either. The bean sprouts and other greens didn't look the freshest. I agree with another reviewer that said they look like they were plated beforehand, then left out. Spring rolls were cut into smaller pieces and served with the generic peanut sauce. It was good. Our service was okay too, but we each just ordered a bowl of pho and then one order of spring rolls, so it's not like we needed much attention. COCKROACH INFESTED!!! This WAS my go to place. However, I'm now concerned with the sanitary handling of this restaurant. My LAST visit on Wednesday Dec 7th around 2:30pm was DISGUSTING. We haven't ordered our food yet and the water that my husband drank, had a live cockroach!!! Best pho I have had in a while. My friends and I agree it was flavorful and delicious. We decided to order at the counter for take out, the wait was not at all that long. I ordered the pho combo. While my friends ordered a chicken pho and classic beef pho. I was pleased with the size because I was worried it be too large for me to eat all at once. I normally order a small at other places. K, I don't usually leave comments, but 3.5 stars for this place is just crazy inaccurate unless by some freak incident something went terribly wrong at someone's visit. With all the issues around in person dining lately we've been limited to trying to do a lot of takeout meals. Although initially after seeing their menu and prices I was hesitant, as the prices seemed slightly steep, we decided to order from them. Ever since then it has been our go to Vietnamese restaurant. We used to only go to restaurants in the ID, but I think this place is even better than any of the ones over there at this point. The huge couple of things that keep us coming back: 1: The pho is amazing. Most amazing is when you eat it there obviously, but the take out is better than the takeout versions we've had anywhere else as well. We'll worth the price 2. The takeout version comes in PAPER containers versus plastic containers which I can't imagine would be healthy for someone to consume boiling hot broth from. 3. The crepe had bean spouts, bbq pork and shrimp in it and served with pickled carrots and veggies on the side. While this is my favorite dish here, the crepe was flavorless today and the bean spout somehow didn't taste right, too crunchy and didn't go well with crepe. The pork chop over rice was typical, nothing to praise about. I've had better ones. The pho here did not taste right. First, it was not served streamy hot, just warm. When the weather is gloomy, I need that hot noodle soup to cheer me up. Their pho came with chopped up spring onions which made the taste a little off. I was expecting cilantro instead?! Not to mention it didn't come with a side of lime, the soup enhancer!!!!! The pho here really disappointed me. Yam fries and egg rolls also met expectation but also nothing to praise about. This place is such a disappointment. First The pho was so oily. I probably had half an inch of oil in my bowl. I was constantly scooping the layer of oil out. Every bite I took my lips were covered in oil. My broth was cloudy ( if you're Vietnamese you know it's old). My pho was also very bland. Second my husband ordered the pork chop and eggs rice dish... is was $15 and all he got was the pork chop and egg ! No pickeled vegetables or anything else on the plate ! Great service and the best vegan phó I've ever had. My sister is a diabetic and my diet is Forks Over Knives way of eating as much as possible. I'm 100% vegan and about 90% FOK. Anyway, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to help us both with our peculiar diets. They also have a kids menu! My nieces loved their food too. The price is very reasonable as well. The location is close to the garage, which has charging stations. That was great too. I charged my car while dining. I ordered the famous oxtail pho and my boyfriend ordered the pork skewers. Skewers were really good, crushed peanuts and fish sauce added a lot of flavor. The broth in my pho was literally addicting, I didn't like the actual oxtail meat but I think it made the broth taste a lot more savory. If you come here I would highly recommend the iron pork belly as it's an above average dish - served sizzling hot in an iron pot. The pork belly is sliced rather thick and seared so that the outside is crispy but the inside is soft and tender. The rice is nicely cooked and pickled vegetables are refreshing. While the pork belly was above average I can't say the same for the 5 spice chicken which seriously lacked flavor. In addition the rice that was served with it was really hard and indicated that it was overcooked or reheated. Just to warn you this place is priced at the Landings standards, which means over priced, so go somewhere else for a cheap, homey viet meal. read more
