Bun rieu
Aindra T.

My go to place in renton for a hangover cure. The pho broth is pretty flavorful and consistent--what I usually order. I've also tried the bun rieu, vermicelli bowls, and spring rolls, which were really yummy. If you're a bun bo hue lover like myself, just a note that the the broth is on the sweeter side here which I don't prefer.

Interesting interior. Dated. Needs new seating and updating.

Location is convenient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is dated and cluttered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance isn't the best.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is great. Very attentive. The food smells good. It's the meat that made me disappointed. It was very chewy and it was so chewy I had to spit it out in a napkin. I hope they will use better meat. It's important to a good bowl of pho.

Spring rolls

I ordered takeout from here and ordered the spring rolls and an XL portion of the pho chin/nam (brisket). The spring rolls were fried well and a decent size, but they weren't very flavorful. The pho broth was lacking in flavor and richness and the meat didn't seem very high quality. However, the amount of food you get for the price is quite a bit. I won't be returning here as I would rather pay more for better quality and better tasting food elsewhere.

Menu

The food was good. I especially like the fresh spring roll. The service was good too. My food and beverage ordered came out very fast. Also I came in before dinner rush time.

Grilled pork Banh mi - ok amount of meat and bread is not hard (which is a good thing)

It's a place for cheap Vietnamese food. I feel like you wouldn't go here for ambience but you would go here for a variety of Vietnamese food. They serve a lot of bun bo hue and pho options and the bun bo hue meat is great. However the broth I think is pho base broth? Just didn't feel very reminiscence of the typical bbh spice. That said I would go back for the variety of food and meat. Don't expect too much cleanliness here also. But server was very nice and quick and cheap. Haven't paid 20 bucks for lunch for 2 peep in awhile.

This place is hidden on sunset blvd. I've driven past multiple times. I decided to be daring and try the special spare rib pho. I was impressed that the broth even though light and had a lot of differ t flavor and could taste different spices. Unfortunately, the ribs were good for the first few bites but were too chewy like they had been cooked too fast. I wish it had been more tender. The slat and pepper chicken wings were on point. Salty enough and crispy on the edges. I will probably go back but try something else besides the spare rib.

Delicious! Comfortable little while in the wall with great food and staff. The beef short ribs were delicious. Yummy broth.

Cha Giò: Deep Fried Pork & Vegetable Egg Rolls. $3.99

A friend is a fan of this place; sadly, I was not impressed, borderline hard pass. FYI there are two Kim Phuong. This location has meat options. The other one, closer to freeway, exit 5 off 405, is vegetarian only. The food didn't stand-out. The appetizers were 3 stars, a passing grade. The pho broth was bland. Even though the contents were good, the overall rating is maybe 2.5 stars. Without a good broth, it's a waste of perfectly good contents. The cost is reasonable to slightly low; I'm adding back half a star. The deal breaker - questionable cleanliness. For a suburbia restaurant, the floor was ridiculously sticky and looked dirty, too. My shoes made a sticky sound every time I shifted my foot. It was grossing me out as I ate. It'd be one thing if I was on the streets eating street food, but it's a hard no for a suburban restaurant. The table wasn't nearly as sticky, but still meh. I doubt I'll return. Our Food: A2. Goi Cuon Tôm (2 pcs): Fresh Spring Rolls with Prawns. $3.99 A4. Cha Giò (2 pcs): Deep Fried Pork & Vegetable Egg Rolls. $3.99 14. Pho Dac Biet (Tái, nam, bò viên, gân, & sách) - House Special Noodle Soup with rare steak, well done flank, meatballs, tendon, & tripe - Large, $12.00 16. Pho Do Bien - Seafood Noodle Soup, includes prawns, squid and scallops - Small, $10.99 Visited in October 2021

Plenty of seating area. Waiter is quick to seat and take order. I order the Special Kim Phuong Rice Dish with a soup. It came with grilled pork but I switched it out for grilled short ribs, skewered shrimp, shrimp patty, rice, eggs, cucumber and a slice of tomato. The soup usually is with a pho broth but I can taste a very strong taste of cinnamon. That kinda threw me off because of how strong it is.

I thought the pho was a poly (the broth) and I found a piece of hair in my soup. Large was $12.99 Meat cuts were a bit thicker

The place inside is small- but do not let the exterior fool you, it serves delicious food! I've been here a couple times and it does not disappoint. If you were to come on a weekend, there will be a wait for sure. There is outside seating when the weather is nicer. This time around, I had ordered the pork chops rice plate. The protein is flavorful and the nice char on the chops give is a good crunch flavor. Also at our table was the banh xeo- it is huge! But filling, and you won't stop eating it because it is yummy! We did request some rice paper on the side to make it into a spring roll. The banh beo was not ordered this time, but have ordered it in the past, and is a MUST!

The waiter was kind enough to let us sit at a table meant for 4 people since we were hungry though! We heard the banh xeo was really good here, so everyone ordered it at the table! It was huge!!! We really liked it! One small thing I noticed was the shrimp was not deveined which was w little gross -- I wish I didn't notice it. Other than that, the cleanliness of the restaurant is what you'd expect at a typical vietnamese restaurant.

The last place I went to had clouds of fruit flies, the floor was sticky and the table looked like a science experiment (the Pho was good though, but ewww). But this isn't about Pho places in Covington. This is about Happy Autumn in Renton. I needed to be in Renton along 4th Ave and since I don't get to eat good Pho much anymore, I saw that Happy Autumn was along the route I'd be driving. My first impression. The food handling rating is EXCELLENT and the restaurant looked clean. The staff was delightful, professional, full of smiles, and had my order ready for pick-up right on time. I got the grilled chicken Pho to go, which is risky because 'to-go' meals can be skimped on since people don't tend to complain on meals to go from their house. I was NOT disappointed. They piled up all the goodies. Extra Sriracha, jalapenos, cilantro and basil. Lots of chicken and noodles and just a touch of sprouts (they are my least favorite Pho item). The broth was fragrant, flavorful and by the time I got home 45 minutes later, still hot. I put it all together and enjoyed some of the best Pho I've ever eaten locally. HIGHLY recommend.

Staff was nice, attentive and the tables and restaurant seemed very clean. We ordered pho, chicken summer rolls and a grilled chicken rice plate. The broth didn't have a lot of depth. It was fine but not enough to warrant a return. The grilled chicken was not exactly grilled. It tasted more like boiled chicken in a sauce and it was very sweet. I will keep looking for other pho restaurants to try. We have visited I Love Pho and Square Lotus in the Factoria area for probably 2 decades so need a change sometimes.

We ordered the wonton soup with ramen noodles, which was quite good and comforting. The shrimp fresh rolls were also good, fresh, and flavorful, though they definitely could have used a lot more peanut sauce--having more would have made them much better. One downside that's hard to ignore was the cleanliness. The floor was extremely dirty, and it appeared that when tables were being cleared, food was simply swept onto the floor. The edges around the tables, walls, and planters were also very dusty and dirty. It honestly made us wonder what "extras" might be making their way into the food. The food itself was solid, and there's definitely potential here, but the cleanliness and slow service took away from what could have been a much better experience. With better attention to hygiene and pacing, this could easily be a five-star spot.

Consider moving it to the title, but I won't dock you for my illiteracy. The spicy pho broth, however, is basically tom yum. It is not spicy. It was sour. It was delicious, so says my wife who likes tom yum. But I do not like tom yum, so my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. In summary. It's fine to be creative, but label and describe that in the menu. I'm sure those dishes both taste great to someone. Not I. I wanted safe, so I got two things I loved, and both were lies.

There was a a whole clump of hair under our table and hair hanging from the chairs. I dropped my daughter's blanket on the floor and my husband picked it up and he it had a pubic hair on it. The tables were not wiped off and the bathroom was a disaster zone. I mean if this is what they think their customers should deal with can you imagine what the kitchen looks like.
