    Bun rieu
    Aindra T.

My go to place in renton for a hangover cure. The pho broth is pretty flavorful and consistent--what I usually order. I've also tried the bun rieu, vermicelli bowls, and spring rolls, which were really yummy. If you're a bun bo hue lover like myself, just a note that the the broth is on the sweeter side here which I don't prefer.

Interesting interior. Dated. Needs new seating and updating.

Location is convenient. The restaurant is dated and cluttered. Ambiance isn't the best. The service is great. Very attentive. The food smells good. It's the meat that made me disappointed. It was very chewy and it was so chewy I had to spit it out in a napkin. I hope they will use better meat. It's important to a good bowl of pho.

I ordered takeout from here and ordered the spring rolls and an XL portion of the pho chin/nam (brisket). The spring rolls were fried well and a decent size, but they weren't very flavorful. The pho broth was lacking in flavor and richness and the meat didn't seem very high quality. However, the amount of food you get for the price is quite a bit. I won't be returning here as I would rather pay more for better quality and better tasting food elsewhere.

The food was good. I especially like the fresh spring roll. The service was good too. My food and beverage ordered came out very fast. Also I came in before dinner rush time.

It's a place for cheap Vietnamese food. I feel like you wouldn't go here for ambience but you would go here for a variety of Vietnamese food. They serve a lot of bun bo hue and pho options and the bun bo hue meat is great. However the broth I think is pho base broth? Just didn't feel very reminiscence of the typical bbh spice. That said I would go back for the variety of food and meat. Don't expect too much cleanliness here also. But server was very nice and quick and cheap. Haven't paid 20 bucks for lunch for 2 peep in awhile.

This place is hidden on sunset blvd. I've driven past multiple times. I decided to be daring and try the special spare rib pho. I was impressed that the broth even though light and had a lot of differ t flavor and could taste different spices. Unfortunately, the ribs were good for the first few bites but were too chewy like they had been cooked too fast. I wish it had been more tender. The slat and pepper chicken wings were on point. Salty enough and crispy on the edges. I will probably go back but try something else besides the spare rib.

Delicious! Comfortable little while in the wall with great food and staff. The beef short ribs were delicious. Yummy broth.

A friend is a fan of this place; sadly, I was not impressed, borderline hard pass. FYI there are two Kim Phuong. This location has meat options. The other one, closer to freeway, exit 5 off 405, is vegetarian only. The food didn't stand-out. The appetizers were 3 stars, a passing grade. The pho broth was bland. Even though the contents were good, the overall rating is maybe 2.5 stars. Without a good broth, it's a waste of perfectly good contents. The cost is reasonable to slightly low; I'm adding back half a star. The deal breaker - questionable cleanliness. For a suburbia restaurant, the floor was ridiculously sticky and looked dirty, too. My shoes made a sticky sound every time I shifted my foot. It was grossing me out as I ate. It'd be one thing if I was on the streets eating street food, but it's a hard no for a suburban restaurant. The table wasn't nearly as sticky, but still meh. I doubt I'll return. Our Food: A2. Goi Cuon Tôm (2 pcs): Fresh Spring Rolls with Prawns. $3.99 A4. Cha Giò (2 pcs): Deep Fried Pork & Vegetable Egg Rolls. $3.99 14. Plenty of seating area. Waiter is quick to seat and take order. I order the Special Kim Phuong Rice Dish with a soup. It came with grilled pork but I switched it out for grilled short ribs, skewered shrimp, shrimp patty, rice, eggs, cucumber and a slice of tomato. The soup usually is with a pho broth but I can taste a very strong taste of cinnamon. That kinda threw me off because of how strong it is.

I thought the pho was a poly (the broth) and I found a piece of hair in my soup. Large was $12.99 Meat cuts were a bit thicker

So many seats inside but Just a heads up: come early or be ready to wait, because this place is always packed. It's busy, a little chaotic, but 100% worth it. There's 20 Chinese aunties running around so please come with an open mind. No matter how long the wait gets, I'll always make time for my bookie pookie.

But they lose 3 stars from me because they use some kind of industrial strength cleaning chemical to wipe down the tables. Hard to enjoy your meal when all you can smell is the same chemical they use to mop the floors at QFC and in my apartment building. Seriously terrible chemical smell while you eat. If they are using a spray bottle to clean at the next table, you'll get a cloud of harsh cleaning chemical up your nostrils while you eat. I've had to rinse off and wiped down my own table with a napkin dampened with tea or water in order to enjoy my meal. When I mentioned this to staff, they were dismissive and haven't changed a thing in over a year when I first brought it to their attention. They should only be using something like quat sanitizer, that doesn't smell, to clean the tables. NOT something that is used for floors or bathrooms. and on a side note: if you decide to mop underneath another table while people are dining next to it, please say "excuse me" or just wait. Instead of almost hitting people in the head with a mop handle without saying a word. Also not great for a dining experience. I have worked in restaurants and F&B management. I know something about these things. You shouldn't use anything on a table for diners that you wouldn't use on a food preparation surface. How many times has a dumpling got away from you and bounced around on the table and you snag it and consume it, because you assume the table isn't being cleaned with floor cleaner? If you agree with me, please say something to the staff, and maybe they'll eventually listen. This is a real shame. The food quality is quite good. Probably best dim sum in South King County. I might just do take-out from now on. There are other high quality Chinese and Asian dining options, that's the bright side of living in this area. But if I'm doing takeout, I might as well just go to Dim Sum House on Beacon Hill (much more reasonable prices and good quality).

It was tender and flavorful. You even got a bit of that wok char on it when they cooked it all together with the bell peppers. It was the most satisfying thing we ate. The chicken wings were flavorful as well but didn't love the coating. It was super crunchy but just a little too heavy on the coating for my preference. The pho was not anything I would go out of my way for. But it did its job. And for $13 for a combo pho, I was not mad at it all. Definitely packed with a lot of noodles if you appreciate that too. The broth was solid. The service was friendly. It's a small restaurant with a good amount of seating. Nothing fancy at all. But you don't hear for vibes. You come here for affordable eats that deliver on flavor. I definitely plan on coming back and trying their chow fun. If the calamari had the wok char, I can only hope their chow fun would too. I asked for a spice ball for the soup on the side. The soup was rich and creamy as the name suggested. The pork chashu was average at best. It lacked flavor and color. The noodles were thick and al dente and absorbed the broth very well. I would not recommend mixing the tempura flakes into the broth as it makes them soggy and they no longer have the crunchy texture to contrast the noodles. For tempura I got a steamed egg tempura, shrimp tempura, and potato tempura. The egg tempura definitely reined supreme. Would heavily recommend a tempura sauce which they happened to run out with today. The vegetable tempuras were all bland. Would not recommend. If you do get the tempuras, eat them before the main dish so the richness of the main dish doesn't ruin the delicate flavor of the tempura. Atmosphere: 9/10 Tables were cleaned and bussed regularly. There were plenty of tables where we didn't really have to wait after getting our food. The tables were kinda close to each other and the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night at 7 pm. It was very loud and we could not hear the music in the background and had to speak up when talking to each other. Service: 9/10 Self service similar to chipotle where you order at the counter and they make it in front of you and all the individual components of each dish are premade. Unlike chipotle, once they give you the main dish in a tray, there is a self serve Tempura bar where you pay by piece.

The food handling rating is EXCELLENT and the restaurant looked clean. The staff was delightful, professional, full of smiles, and had my order ready for pick-up right on time. I got the grilled chicken Pho to go, which is risky because 'to-go' meals can be skimped on since people don't tend to complain on meals to go from their house. I was NOT disappointed.
