This place borders a 4 or a 5 as you can tell by the many reviews it is good. Crab and Chicken egg rolls are pretty good. I kind of expected these to be over the top and they were good just not 5 stars. The fresh shrimp rolls with the peanut sauce were goodish. The pork and shrimp vermicelli salad was quite good. Not a lot of shrimp but what you did get was quality. The food itself was quite a bit of noodles and salad. I felt like the food was pretty healthy accept for the fried part and it was all very well made. It is posh Vietnamese food and I can see why many like it. It just didn't wow me so I think maybe next time I will try the pho and some other things people said that are amazing, I would definitely order here again. read more

Easily the best vietnamese restaurant on the upper east side. Clean space, usually pretty quiet dining experience - parking on the top lot can be tight squeezes but there is a parking garage down below. foodwise - i've always frequented the Renton Landing location before so it's nice having one in Sammamish. Food has always been consistently good, service is great too - my only real gripe is cost of food is very high, compared to Seattle viet food or kent viet food... any viet food that's not in Bellevue really, however i understand the cost of product and business. So it boils down to paying for the convenience of not having to drive far. Pho here is all decent but their other dishes like "shaking beef" or bun bo hue, beef stew, and rice dishes are all great tasting dishes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for anyone looking for authentic and great vietnamese food! read more

Love this place! Recently moved here and couldn't be happier to find a great Viet place close nearby. So far I've tried.. Their food has really good flavor (the pork is what had me sold) and I always now have my husband pick me up my usual Milk Tea on the weekends with Lychee Jelly. Love it! I can't believe I'm just hearing about this place now. Apparently been open a year! Our in restaurant dinner started with amazing coconut shrimp- fresh, tender with crispy outside (the real deal, not some frozen item from costco that so many places put on their menu!) then we had the fresh chicken spring rolls. So much flavor and the peanut sauce that came with was fantastic. My husband loves Pho so he ordered the chicken pho with zucinni noodles. He said it was one of the best broths he's had. I got the chicken curry and it was so Good! I had a glass of their house Papaya Chardonnay and he had a beer- Really great service. Fast. And everything came out piping hot! We looked at their menu online. I found one thing that I felt I could eat. We arrived and looked at their printed menus and my dish wasn't listed. I asked the server if they could still make it. She said no. They had very loud unpleasant music playing in the restaurant and the cooks had a football game playing loudly in the back. Totally an unpleasant atmosphere. The people running the place have obviously never eaten authentic Vietnamese food before or just didn't care. The spring rolls were awful, the egg rolls were absolutely gross, my noodle salad was the worst I have ever had, and my sister's wide noodles with basil and lemongrass chicken was disgusting. My experience with Papaya Viet Restaurant has been through UberEats. The selections are good. Delivery packaging is good. There is one thing that I find problematic. I always order the Pho and notice that they break up the rice noodles. The noodles are about 1/2 inch long. Chopsticks aren't necessary...one only needs a spoon. I understand a restaurant may seek ways to save money, but I don't like that feeling of being cheated. Pho with broken noodles is not how an authentic Pho would or should be presented. I wonder if the noodles are unbroken when ordered to eat in the restaurant but for food delivery, they cut corners? Whatever the reasoning, it's not cool. At all. read more

I've ordered from here quite a few times in the past couple months and everything has been great. I've had the beef pho, the crab and shrimp crispy rolls, chicken potstickers, the baguettes (chicken and pork) and all have been very tasty, even with everything being takeout. So happy to have a great new option for food in Sammamish! I learned about this new restaurant on a local neighborhood FB page & immediately placed an order for lunch. I got the pork banh mi & 2 orders of the garlic chicken wings for my husband & boys to share. My sandwich was delicious, I just wish it had more jalapeño on it. I was pleasantly surprised that my it came with sweet potato fries! The flavor of the wings was great but I prefer a crispier wing. First, I arrived after having placed an order online to find out that they didn't have access to their online orders. I waited 20 minutes for my order to be prepared only to get it and find the crispy rolls cold and the chicken dry and tough. So as soon as I saw Papaya was opening in Sammamish I was super excited. We were impressed by their menu to have so many vegetarian options, and ginger in pho sounded delicious, so we tried it out. We got take-out, but before even leaving the parking lot, we checked the boxes and didn't think it was going to get eaten. My hubby got the lemongrass tofu banh mi and subbed regular fries since he doesn't like sweet potato fries. When I called it in I asked if we could sub garlic fries and was told no, they don't do that. Huh? Those are the only two fry options on your menu. Okay, what can I get instead of yam fries? Regular fries for an upcharge. Okay whatever. They looked like a bad wilted version of McDondalds fries. And everything was soggy on the banh mi, the bread and tofu and all. This was immediately after pick-up, within the 15 minutes they said to come pick it up. And, pet peeve, they threw in a handful of ketchup packets IN the box. Not in the bag, but on top of the sandwich and fries. Ugh. Anyway, we tasted it and then it went promptly into the trash. The reason they are getting a second star is their chicken pho was a three star. Not great, I didn't even get any ginger, which was the whole reason I wanted this place, but it was fine. Chicken was juicer than most places since it's not just breast meat, but the broth was nothing special. Not going back. read more

We've been here several times already since it opened. It is very convenient. Nice, clean space. Friendly service. The food is clean and fresh and they use plenty of fresh herbs. I give them four stars for the convenience, freshness of the food, and some uniqueness to the menu. It's not just another pho place. However, it is quite pricey for items that are much cheaper elsewhere. I understand that rents on the plateau are pretty high so I can understand this. Their bahn mi is pretty average so I wouldn't recommend that, but I would recommend their specialty soups. Quite a unique flavor. We come here sometimes just for the boba drinks although many of the other places we can get boba are better. Their drinks are much too sweet, but my kids love them. read more

I was looking for a new place to try on DoorDash and got lured in to this restaurant by the delicious looking fried rolls. It turns out that it was the only picture they have in the menu. Pricing is also on the higher side for Vietnamese foods. Nevertheless, I decided to gave them a try. Food was prepared and got delivered promptly. The packaging was neat and smelled amazing even without opening them. I got the crab spring roll in the picture, banh mi and steak/egg fried rice. The entrees are very delicious. Came here on a Friday night. Full house with good amount of servers (3 of them). We got seated quick but no one come serve us for 15+ min. My husband has to go grab a menu by himself. 10 more min has passed, I believe the manager (if not the owner) came over, put down some plates and ask " Can you tell me what you want real quick?". HOW RUDE is that? ( not even a glass of water is offered )! I have to say thank you to the tall waiter with a man bun. He literally ran around fast to serve us food. Not long ago we came here on a weekday at 5pm. There were NO customers other than us.
