EXCELLENT service - very happy with these guys. I took my John Deere E180 54" mower in to have a fouled carburetor repaired. Also had a few other small services done on it. Madison in the Service Department was super friendly and helpful, and the quote and repair came back much quicker than I expected. They also waived the delivery fee due to Covid-19 (limiting how many people come to the store) which was nice. Delivery was right on time, with a friendly and helpful delivery guy. I bought a brand new John Deere in 2022, received it end of December 2022. I spent $8000.00 on it with extras. The first time I used it in March 2023, it blew oil all over the deck and motor. Pape Sumner picked it up. I called to find out the problem, crickets. When it was returned there was no repair paperwork. I called and pried the mysterious repair information out of one of the employees, who wasn't helpful and no apologies. It was under warranty. After the 3rd time I ran the machine, the bagger motor belt broke, 2023. I took the motor off and threw up my hands, they installed it! In 2024 I had to tighten the oil filter it was leaking. It held till March 2026 and leaked again, so I tightened it. A few months ago I was so fearful something else would go wrong with this lemon I bought the Turf guard extra warranty. Now June 13 2026 the bolt that brings the deck up and down fell out or was never in, not sure. It was rubbing against the belt (Unknown to me) shredded it, the cord in the belt wrapped around the pulleys. I looked on the internet and most cases it's a manufacture defect or the assembly error. It should not have popped out! I called Pape today Tuesday, it was difficult to do as their store possess an atmosphere of the black cloud of doom. I am the one who said "thank you" twice, he was the one who said nothing pleasant! They need to implement customer service training classes. I will send another review after this new issue is resolved. Did I mention my riding mower X330 has ONLY 45 hours on it! Pape gets a one star because my machine is actually being picked up in 5 days instead of 2 weeks. read more

I felt the service was expensive and lazy. While in for maintenance, We requested a light bar to be installed on the top of the roll bar frame just behind the seat. When we came to pick it up, the light was on there but the wires were not threaded through the metal frame, it had holes to run the wires through. They used zip ties to hold the wires in place. We could have done that ourselves. Shortly after picking it up from the maintenance we had done, we had a few hydraulic problems that weren't there before. It could be coincidental in timing, but they wouldn't check into it without more charges to see if it was their work. Also, we asked to have it cleaned up, it was returned just as dirty as when we dropped it off. They are overpriced, not very helpful, and they did sloppy work. I felt ripped off a bit. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Barnett then Washington tractor but that all changed since Pape bought them out. I have spent over $200k in farm equipment there in the last 10 years and my John Deere 5425N had the power reverser go out. I took it to the one in yakima wa for repairs and they quoted me $7k to fix. I decided to wait on the repair. Ag sucks right now. So they sent me a bill for $950 to diagnose the tractor. I told them to keep the tractor and I will never do business there again. read more

my lawn mower was picked up for winter service in early December and not hearing back on a return date, I called them end of January and service said they called and left me a message on Dec, 10th to okay the service price, was not on my answering machine. I finally got a quote and said okay and to put charges on my John Deere financial account. Message on my machine Jan. 27th said it was ready and "how did I want to pay for it". Message left a cell phone number to call, I called it, went to voice mail, so left a message on it. I expected my mower back on the the 31st. It did not arrive. I called on Monday and service dept. said they were waiting for me to call and give them payment info. I explain I left a message the previous Friday, and he apologized. So did get lawn mower back on the 7th, however the lid to the storage area to the right of the seat was broken off and gas tank was near empty. This company only does a once weekly pick up and drop off , if you have them pick up your riding lawnmower for service be prepared to not get it back for 2-3 weeks. No phone calls I had to call them and ask what was happening and when I can expect my rider back. I will be looking for someone else to do my yearly service. read more

I do NOT recommend using their service dept. You are better taking your equipment to a private shop. Not only are they expensive but it takes a month or better to even get your stuff looked at once you drop it off. Don't trust these guys. They quoted me for parts and installation for a 3rd function valve, and then after pickup they called and gave me a different price. While I was happy with the purchase experience a couple of years ago, this interaction has been lackluster to say the least. We recently purchased a new John Deere tractor from Pape machinery to replace our old one. Scott Nordeen helped us. The interaction was pleasant and easy from start to finish. He worked to find the specific implements and tractor we needed. The price was fair. He delivered the tractor when it came and spent over an hour going through all of the new features and showing me how to attach and detach everything, and how to operate the tractor. I appreciated the extra time he spent helping me learn the most efficient way to use the tractor. As a female, muscling through everything does not always work. We had two mower decks fail on a 2018 x354 riding mower. Their description of the issue with our mower deck is consistent with the deck failing in a way that should covered by warranty. They denied warranty coverage saying that we damaged our mower deck. The poor workmanship damaged the first deck. Loose bolts. The design or manufacturing fault caused the damage on the second one. (it failed at a weld). When decks fail at 133 hours and the second one that they tricked us into buying failed at about 160 hours (both failed within about a year), and the one on the previous mower has worked for 12 years in the same environment... John Deere has a quality problem, and Nobody Runs away from responsibility like this John Deere Dealer. read more

This establishment also appears under a Harrison address on Sumner, have been out there twice for service on a tractor we bought and it is no longer there. Receptionist was rude when I called, gave me another address and said their IT dept hasn't been able to find the problem and fix it, though several have complained. If they can't even update a website how can customers trust them to buy equipment worth thousands of dollars? Very poor public relations here, retrain the receptionist to be more polite, empathetic and knowledgible. She is the face of your company and your best face is certainly not forward with her! read more

It's just one thing after another, I got my riding mower back after $360 in their shop and it's been one issue after another. Andy helped me out the first time but since then Every time I get on it it breaks when I ordered new a belt it's the wrong belt. No wait, We have right part we just gave you the wrong one. Took our John Deere X360 lawn mower into Washington Tractor, in Lynden WA, for a routine service and to install a bagger system. One complaint I did have was a front tire which would not hold air pressure for any length of Time. When we got the Mower home, the bagger system did not work with the size of our lawn, and the tire still was not holding air pressure. We returned the X360 to have the bagger system removed and returned to the store, and I asked the service manager to again fix the front tire. When I returned to get the mower I asked the service manager what they did to fix the tire. His response was they used a can of fix a flat! I trailered the mower home and when I went to take the mower off the trailer I found the Tire had deflated. read more

Took my mower in to see why it wouldn't engage the PTO. They scratched and dented my truck with their ramp while unloading. I told them I had already tried to install a new switch but something was causing them to short circuit. First call and diagnosis was to say my switch was bad. I told them I knew that and wanted to know what was causing my switches to short. I said I wondered if it might be the clutch. Second diagnosis was that it might be the clutch or wires. They told me it would be about $1k to fix. I declined. Get in to pick up mower and service guy was on personal call the whole time. Was charged additional diagnosis fee of $100 plus for them to look at it again after me telling them it wasn't just the switch and then not getting a definitive diagnosis. I couldn't even ask questions about what was written on receipt since guy was on personal phone call whole time. Also mower ran great when dropped off and now is having tons of problems staying running. Waste of time and waste of money and now my mower doesn't run hardly either. I'm so disappointed with our experience with Washington Tractor. We wanted a John Deere -- but the staff there can't answer the phone, can't return a phone call, can't even find the tractor or parts sitting there on their lot. We just dropped our tractor off for 10 days to get the things done to it that we paid for and were supposed to be done when we bought it brand new, and when we went to pick it up it was sitting in the same spot and hadn't even moved in 10 DAYS! We love the tractor but wish we'd gone somewhere else to buy one or just bought orange. I sure wish a zero or negative star was an option. read more

where to start ..... yes i too feel as if they are less than honest but when buying a john deere you are very limited to dealer choices here or in neighboring states we ended up buying from them as they had the unit and because it was specific - we had our hands tied delivery was fine but then a large puddle under the unit because they did not do a full inspection - had it two days when we had to call for them to come back to pick it up - no communication from them until my husband called .... and then confused as to why we were expecting to know what was going on with our machine that we just bought they have shown us through transactions the type of service and costs we could look forward to - we will not be giving them anymore business if john deere units did not hold their value - we would have definitely bought a competitor and not been treated with such disrespect read more

Warning! Washington Tractor of Sumner WA, Service and Repair Dept is dishonest! They claim to replace parts that we're not replaced! They claim and charge for performing investigative diagnostics that we're not performed! When confronted with the facts of their deception they deny culpability and blame the customer! They charged me 3 times to replace a broken belt. The belt would break after less than 1 hour of use and be very ripped. They charged me for the inspections and for new belts and claimed the belts were defective but not their fault. After the 4th belt replacement I found a nickel size rock embedded in one of the pulleys. The rock was so obvious as to completely visible to the untrained eye. The rock is very polished and worn from several hours of being stuck in the pulley. The service dept should not be trusted! Go to any other vendor that provides repair than Washington Tractor! read more

The prices seem high on parts (even for a dealer), a lot of times when I need a certain "Stihl or John Deere" part for something that is small I can find it online or at competitors for a significantly reduced price. The other thing I really don't like is their current location, it is difficult getting in and out. They also don't offer any types of commercial discounts for people who own businesses like myself. read more

I'm the contractor remodeling the old Washington Tractor store. I stopped in the store when the John Deere guys were moving out to get some measurements the manager, and the receptionist were extremely rude to me. I asked if it was okay if I walked around and the employees said, no problem. I made sure I was not interfering in anyway. Heck I helped one of the guys push a heavy box into a truck he was struggling with. I was measuring for new doors. I wasn't near anybody, and the manager went out of his way to confront me. He said, you're interfering with us, get out of here! I asked if I get one more measurement, it was actually 3 quick ones. He said, looks like more than one measurement to me!! I tried to leave the parking lot but they parked a pick-up behind me so I couldn't leave, how juvenile. BTW, The building was never maintained. The air filters were never changed on the H-vac units, I wonder how many people got sick? The building was remodeled by a handyman previously, didn't do a good job. We get people stopping by everyday asking where they moved to. We ask what's the problem? If we can help them repair their tool we'll help them out if not, I'll find the part they need on the internet. Thats what "nice" people do! read more

I will avoid this business at all cost. I brought my riding mower in for service and explained to the service department exactly what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. Fifteen days later the finally diagnosed the problem, that I already told them about, and wanted to know if they should order parts. What?! After 8 weeks, you read that correctly, eight weeks later they attempted to return the mower and it would not drive off the truck. The delivery man asked if I could lift it with him onto the driveway so he could make the delivery! Really, they brought me a mower eight weeks later that would not drive... what in the world am I supposed to do with that? They took it back. Never called me. I had to call 5 days later just to see if they were actually going to fix it. They asked if they should fix it... um yes! Two and a half weeks later they say they can deliver it in four more days. I run a business and was without my mower for nearly eleven weeks; would have been eleven but I borrowed a trailer and went to pick it up. No really cared how it inconvenienced me. Never again. I spent over a quarter the price of a new mower to fix mine and took months to complete. Terrible. read more

After waiting over 30 minutes on the single most annoying hold message ever, I am told that I need to be transfered! Not a single regret in telling everyone that this organization does not value their customers enough to have an efficient way of dealing with phone inquiries...and remember that some of us are hours away from their physical locations. I wish I could give them zero stars. Dishonest, deceitful, lack a basic understanding of tractors and equipment, and did I mention deceitful. They sold is a "new" tractor. Then told us it was 3 years old with 268 hours on it after they picked it up off rent. Then told me to "take it, or leave it". Really disappointing. I really wanted John Deere green, just bought a new Kubota RTV900 and a Kubota L2501 from Kitsap Tractor instead. Better tractors, better, service, better resale, and better price if you go with Kubota Orange. read more

These guys are crooks. Took my mower in to fix a broken bracket. Paid for a new carborator and water in the gas tank. Someone must have broke into my garage and poured water over it. Never fixed the broken bracket but charged me almost $200. Stay away from these crooks. I wouldent give them even 1 star. read more

My husband has always had decent service here and I even have a friend who works here who I know is a good guy so I know there are some good people here. But when I went in to purchase a part for my husband's John Deere mower last week it was not a good experience for me. I know that I don't know everything there is to know about fixing tractors, but I did know which part I needed. The salesman in the parts dept (who had just spent a really long time treating the male customer in front of me really well) was rude, condescending, chauvinistic and downright horrible to me. And so you know that I'm not just overly sensitive, my 10 yr old and 13 yr old boys, who are usually oblivious to stuff, were with me and the first thing they said after we left the store was "wow, that salesman was a jerk to you". My wife thought it would be good to have a professional change the fluida on our 1986 John Deere tractor. They had a special going of half off pick up & delivery, so they came and got the tractor. It worked fine, but sometimes smoked a bit going uphill, so I asked them to check the injectors, usually the problem. They called and asked if they could remove them to check the compression, and it would cost about $300. I approved it, and they pulled them. They then told me the tractor was shot, and I could sell it for a couple hundred dollars to a friend who rebuilt tractors in his spare time. I asked them to just put it back together, since it was running fine. They said it would cost about $1200 to do that, since they would have to remove the head. I said send it back to me in pieces, since I have worked on engines for years. After I got it in pieces, I got the injectors rebuilt and reassembled the engine. Whole process for me to rebuild it was about 9 hours and a head gasket & injector seals. Runs great - better than before. Cost me $360 for Washington Tractor to essentially break it, and return it to me to fix. Not the experience I wanted. read more
