The halibut, I must declare, was nothing short of a revelation, a luminous masterpiece of the sea, cooked with such preternatural precision that it seemed to hover between succulence and sublimity, each flake surrendering its briny sweetness with the tenderness of a whispered secret. Our attendants moved with the balletic grace of practiced synchrony..swift, perceptive, almost prescient in their attentiveness, anticipating our every unspoken desire before it could even crystallize into thought. Truly, a dining experience that transcended the merely excellent and ascended into the rarified air of the unforgettable.

BUT they let you stand in the hot sun in front of what seems like the door, they clearly see you standing there, but they don't tell you to enter from the side until 10 minutes have gone by. Takeaway: enter from the side. And then, if you're one of the MILLIONS of people who can't eat mayonnaise based sauces, then you're out of luck, especially if you want one of the specials, because they will not leave the aioli off the special. Even though it's a sauce at the bottom of the plate. No, sorry. I mean, Le Bernardin doesn't do that unnecessarily pretentious stuff. Only average. Except the stuffy attitude. Will pass next time.

We went all in and ordered one of everything and were so glad we did! Pacing of the courses was perfect and each new plate set down in front of us was a wonderful surprise. So much deliciousness in one meal! We loved every minute of our experience and wish we lived closer so that we go back again soon. Don't miss out- this is really a special place!

Devon and Hannah are the couple that own and run the place - he's the ridiculously talented chef and waiter (or chef that delivers and describes the food) and she's front of house (greeter, waitress, sommelier, and seems genuinely happy! The food...so so so so good and unique. If this place doesn't win major awards I'd be shocked. There are maybe 10 tables so even when "busy" it's never chaotic (well I've only been once and it wasn't too crowded but Hannah said as much and she seems very honest!) The food and service is very much the appeal and they absolutely nailed it. Pointedly they did not spend a lot on interior, yet it's simple, tasteful, and appealing. They don't open every night, just Thu Fri Sat - which is why they still love it - their words but my wholehearted agreement. It's not inexpensive but when someone has clearly mastered their crafts like these two, I am onboard every time. Also, you know when you love a place but after going a bunch of times you get kinda tired of the menu? Well these two change menu every three weeks! Camden has a bunch of restaurants that cater to the tourists - they are fine and some are even good but not special at all. But this place, what can I say, I fell in love and will be back often! And if you are a foodie tourist who wants to treat yourself, you must come!

You would struggle to find a cafe or restaurant with a better view, as this looks out over a harbor that is basically what you'd picture in your head for being in Maine. The menu included buckwheat crepes both sweet and savory and some gelato, so I indulged and got a crepe with gelato on the side. Even the sweet crepes use a buckwheat base, which I liked. The earthy flavor makes a useful contrast with the sweetness. Their house caramel sauce was buttery and toasty in flavor and combined well with bananas, so say nothing of the smooth stracciatella gelato I mixed with it. I couldn't have asked for much more.

The reviews and mission at Freya's appeared promising, so I decided to give it a go, especially since the product is made in-house. Unfortunately for our group of four, there was only one flavor of gelato left an hour before closing time (and good for Freya's). My spouse went for that gelato--coffee--while the rest of our group went the sorbetto route. There were four flavors remaining: strawberry, passionfruit, guava, and lime + jasmine. I had tastes of everything, including the gelato. Sorbetto-wise, I was especially impressed with the strawberry, and the passionfruit was a close second. My only nit pick is that the guava was icier than the other three sorbettos, but the flavor was still punchy and refreshing. As for the gelato, it was European quality. Huzzah! I was so mad that I hadn't gone earlier in the day for more of a gelato selection. That taste of coffee really left a good impression. I'm thrilled to report that the folx at Freya's know what they're doing with their gelato and sorbettos. If you're snobby about your gelato, rest assure! You'll be really happy at Freya's.

First was lunch on the rooftop with drinks. I was hoping to try their deviled eggs, but they are only served in the restaurant after 4:00 pm. We both had the lobster rolls. Ample amount of lobster. Crispy buttery "toast". In my personal opinion, I wish there was a little more mayo. I like mine to be a little more "wet" and it really pulls all the flavors. We also had dinner. I was able to try the deviled eggs. They are gooood. Perfectly boiled and the filling was piped very nicely. Firm and good flavors. We did add the caviar. Caviar was good, nice amount of salty kick. My husband was not as impressed with the caviar. Said it was better without. He ordered the Roasted Halibut (asparagus, roasted fingerlings, cherry tomato, lemon caper beerre blanc.) He said it was cook perfectly great blending flavors. Only compliant, it was a small piece of fish. I orders the Fra Diavolo (maine lobster, linguine, calabrian chile) Wow. This was soo delicious. Lobster in anything is a must. The linguine was perfect. The sauce. Of the sauce was light and flavorful. I loved that it had a nice heat and spice but it was not overwhelming. I think this would also be nice for someone that is not a fan of spicy. Our waitress Emma was wonderful!
