Taqueria El Dorado has become our go-to local taco spot. Our usual order is the tripas tacos and…read morequesabirria tacos, but honestly, everything we've tried has been delicious. The menudo is flavorful and comforting, the mojarra fried fish plate is perfectly cooked, and the fajitas are always a great choice. You can really tell they put care into the food. The restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms, which is always appreciated. The service is consistently friendly and welcoming, and it's great that they also offer catering services for larger gatherings and events. There are still so many things on the menu we want to try, especially the desserts. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

As we were sitting waiting for our food, a server came over on two separate occasions with the wrong food, asking who had what. Not a big deal, they obviously had the wrong table, no biggy, but it looks unprofessional. The vibe is always nice in there, very friendly and inviting. Then they finally brought our food out, and gave me my chimichanga, with a nice spread of avocado on the top. The issue? I specifically ordered it WITHOUT avocado or guacamole. It even said so on the receipt. But by that point I was starving, so I scraped it off and started eating. The pork inside was tasty, BUT I ORDERED CARNE ASADA. So in the end, I did not get what I ordered whatsoever. And as a side note, I've noticed the portion sizes vary each time I've come in, but this was by far the skimpiest portion I've ever gotten. The chimichanga was tiny, and I barely got any rice or beans on the side. Like I said, I love this place, but this experience doesn't inspire me with a lot of confidence. Hopefully next time I come in it's better!

We were meeting a friend and they had gotten a table for us before we arrived, but it wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables available. We're glad we had a chance to try Cantina Pedregal before it changes into Nixtaco- although now having been to both you're going to have delicious food either way. The restaurant is beautiful and whoever did the interior design was so thoughtful with the furniture, colors and ambiance. It's very warm, welcoming and calming inside. A great date spot or place for a meeting. The lunch menu has a good variety of options, and is broken down into smaller bites/appetizers, salads, main plates, and then sides. It's a nice spot to share dishes so you can try more items and share the sides. We ended up getting the chips and salsa ($7) with an extra salsa ($4), Grilled Black Half Chicken ($23), and Fideo Seco ($14). Our friend got the Carne Asada Tacos ($24), Refried Beans ($12), and Red Rice ($10). The sides were shareable and needed, since the entrees came on their own. Our friend added some of the beans, rice and Fideo Seco on their tacos and our chicken did come with some tortillas to make our own tacos or eat on it's own. Everything was high quality and flavorful. The Fideo Seco was surprisingly my favorite item. It is vermicelli pasta with sofrito, chorizo and egg yolk and was very tasty. The chicken was good, but hard to eat without using your hands to get all the meat off the bones- the messy hands didn't seem to fit with the restaurant vibe but we loved the flavor and how tender the chicken was. The salsa was good and the chips were fresh, but it seemed like a lot to charge $4 for the ramekins of salsas. I would pass on chips and salsa next time. Overall it was a great vibe, high quality food and good service. Definitely more of a treat meal or great spot to impress a date or business client. For a regular chill meal it felt a bit expensive, but I think they're going for more upscale.

I had been waiting to come here for a while now so glad we made it in . We drove 40 mins just to…read moreeat here. Walking in the decor is very modern and nice . The restrooms is for everyone. You walk in and the doors close individually but u do share the space and area to wash your hands with anyone that walks in . Not bad never really seen this before . Our waiter was amazing his name was Doug he explained the menu to us . It could be a lot but he helped us . Doug was very helpful and attentive. We ordered drinks my favorite one was called Sol Dorado . I wish they had more Gin drinks I had the only Gin drink called Brissa Del Mar but ,I was not a fan . For food we ordered the Caesar salad , sweet potato which was amazing. For our main dish we ordered the cazuela (Asado De Puerco ) which is pork stew it came with handmade corn tortillas . We made some delicious tacos out of it . I had to get dessert they all sounded so good! We got the Smoked Pumpkin Tres Leches delicious. Overall, it was a different experience the food is a bit different and I'm Mexican BTW but it's from a part in Mexico called Monterey every part in Mexico has their own way of cooking . The menu its self is different you order to share . It's a little on the pricier side but the portions were a good size for sharing . I feel like for the main entree there is not that many options on there wish to see more . Overall we had a great time . Great food and ambiance.

I then rolled in to get said order in pajamas (work party, I swear), and they never once made me feel uncomfortable. In fact, the owner introduced me to his wife and son. So it was already five stars before I even got to the food. I got home and unpacked everything, and the portions are HUGE. I ordered the veggie tacos and veggie burrito, and it is easily 4-6 meals worth of food. Easily. Other members of my family ordered the chile relleno, and said it was one of the best they have ever had. And since my mom lived in Mexico, that is a ringing endorsement. The al pastor was also superb, as were the steak tacos. And the wet burrito. Dear Lord, the wet burrito. You could use that thing as a dumbbell and do bicep curls with it. It is massive and delicious. This place is a definite visit if you are in Cameron Park. Seriously, run, don't walk, to try this place.

Next time I'm going to ask if they can do grilled cheese to any burrito. The burritos have a good ratio of meat, beans & rice. Some restaurants load up on rice & beans and skimp on the meat; not this place! If you're in the mood for a burrito, this place is a must try!!!
