It's been a while since our last visit and I'm pleased to say Papi's still sets the bar high. Our group of 8 was promptly greeted and seated. I started with a frozen margarita. A healthy pour and one was all I could safely handle. It would appear I'm a lightweight. Except when I stand on a scale. My wife ordered a shrimp taco salad. The typical "base" for a salad and topped with large, perfectly grilled shrimp. I went with pollo loko. A grilled, butterflied chicken breast, covered with sautéed onions, peppers and squash; then smothered with a light cheese sauce. The portions were ample with leftovers for take home. It's nice to know some things never change. Papi's still delivers.

We came in with a party of 17 on a Sunday night and right away they made room for us! Everyone enjoyed their food - and the service was great!

We love Papi's! Although the restaurant is on the smaller side, don't let it deter you. It's nicely decorated inside with carefully placed seating. The complimentary chips with ranch or salsa are so good! (Ranch is my favorite of anywhere!) The margaritas are so good and plentiful! You can order them to go as well! We have always had excellent service. My favorite dinner item there are the chicken fajitas. Definitely give it a go!!

Service was excellent, food came out hot and the beans were tasty. The crema dip that came out with the chips was delicious also. House margaritas on the rocks were good too. Solid experience and good food. Would visit again!

I came because of the many positive reviews. The service was sub par. None of the food was seasoned with anything. I ordered a mango margarita and it was literally a lime margarita with mango juice floating on top which was disgusting. I won't return.

We enjoy going to new places to try their food and Papi's looked like a good place to go for lunch. This is a very small location tucked into the rear of a small shopping area in the heart of Crestwood. Looks small from the outside , but once inside there was plenty of seating. It also had a full service bar. We were seated right away and our server brought us some chips and salsa, then took our drink order. I was glad to see the served Blue Moon in a bottle. We both decided on the Fajita's, I got the shrimp and my wife the chicken. They were both served with hot tortillas, and a plate of refried beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream lettuce and pico. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional. Can't wait to go back again.

Mummies shrimp. It's out of this world good.

Cute little restaurant. Fast service. Attentive staff. Nice portion size. Food came out hot and freshly made. Salsa was fresh, on spicy side but so good! Would def come back. Only con was they just give you one bowl of salsa to share with the table. Since it was me & my son it was okay but it's just more sanitary for each person to have a bowl.

We picked up a queso Fundido and it was rock solid, same consistency as the picture attached. We went back to get one remade and it turned out exactly the same as the first one. It's extremely inedible.

We love the tacos carne asada (so good with corn tortillas) and the pollo con arroz (it's huge)

Excellent service , excellent food , very cute decor. Restaurant is small - but we were seated right away. Mummy shrimp was good. Bourbon Margarita stole the show! Highly recommend!!!

    Birria Tacos

Very impressed with our first experience at Papi's and definitely will return. Incredible chips, salsa, drinks, tacos and entrees. We had Burris Tacos, Pollo de Papis and a la Carte burrito and each were excellent as was the service (and house margarita). Recommend!

Great people, great food and service. Drinks are great. Bathrooms are clean. Not perfect English, but hey, it's a Mexican restaurant.

Train tracks run down the middle of Main Street and while we watched a train through the window while waiting on our meal. In addition to a bar area, there are multiple rooms with seating. The ambiance is cozy and nostalgic, and it feels as though you are sharing a drink and meal in someone's home. There is also an outdoor patio with seating. The menu has a variety of options, mostly higher-end bar-type dishes. I had the cheeseburger salad and it was huge and delicious. Our table shared appetizers (stuffed mushrooms and goat-cheese/artichoke dip with chips) and they were both great too, especially the goat-cheese/artichoke dip! This will definitely be where I get a meal when I visit La Grange. Parking is available in a lot behind the restaurant and street side in the walkable neighborhood.

So the ambiance, depending on where you are seated is very good or fantastic. The service is mostly abysmal. It's been abysmal for years. It's rather the running joke among friends whom have the money but are often amazed how bad the service is. I really don't think the ownership accepts how bad the service sucks...badly. C'est le guerre. Two out of three ain't bad. The prices are en pointe! If they had a manager with a brain it could be so much more. The restaurant group owns three other restaurants. Why they have kept the SUCKY mgt here is beyond my understands. I've never owned a restaurant but I have owned companies. No idea why they continue with very poor mgt. I feel like the manager must have nude pictures of someone!! Go here! Food exceptional. Just because mgt are possibly accepting bribes...or something weird is occurring...Enjoy what you can!!! Madeleine's is not a wine tasting bar but a restaurant with an extensive wine list (for this small town, at least). They have a fairly extensive food menu as well as many unique wines on their list. They also serve beer, if that's your thing. One of the owners seated us and let us know that we could sample any of the wines with which we were unfamiliar before ordering a full glass. Although we had not planned to eat there as it was 3pm, our husbands popped in, so we ended up with an order of meatballs too. We absolutely loved them! They had a very bright flavor with a hint of some sort of spice in the sauce, which was amazing. We plan to come back for an actual dinner at some point soon as the food that we had was exceptional. The menu is extensive; the ambience is nice; and, the service was excellent. A bit of backstory for you -- the owners had moved from New York back to Kentucky after many years in the high-end restaurant business in New York City. The "Madeline" in the name of the restaurant is not the name of either owner; it's the name of one of the owner's mothers -- traditionally done in the restaurant business for good luck!
