Ernesto's is hands down the best! The food is always delicious, and quick. The staff are outstanding, such kind people. We've been going there at least once a week if not more pretty much since they have been open. They have music bingos on Monday nights a couple times a month and that's fun. Had a DJ for cinco dey Mayo today. Super festive and fun. Even if you are not in the mood for "Mexican" they have steaks, salmon and even sandwiches and fries( the fries are amazing). Go get a cheese dip, a strawberry daiquiri and the mixed burritos, you won't regret it. read more

We're from Texas, so we're pretty particular about our Tex-Amex restaurants. Frankly, we weren't expecting much from Ernestos. We're we ever surprised. Chips & salsa were promptly brought to our table. The chips were fresh and the salsa was a bit chunky and nicely spiced. My wife's grilled chicken was over cooked and dried out. A big portion, but not very tasty. On the other hand, my fajitas were very good. And for a lunch menu, a healthy portion. By the way, we're talking about $9 for each entree. You just can't beat the value and quality. I'm sure the overdone chicken was a fluke. We'd certainly go back next time we're in the area. read more

Can I just say Holy Guacamole!?? Soooo good, perfectly chunky, perfectly seasoned. There's a meal right there (no justice in this pic). What a hidden gem, I'd be there every week! The Mexican restaurant scene in La Grange is grossly over crowded. I mean, why? Why are there so many? Anyway, you came here for a review on Ernesto's, not me pondering why there are so many Mexican restaurants in La Grange, KY. Went on an off time, so there were only a few tables sat. Chips and salsa came out immediately. Drink order was taken quickly, too. The waiter gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and decide what we wanted. Her margarita came out insanely fast. The service was top notch. Pretty standard fare. Wife got fish tacos, which she enjoyed. Ate the whole plate, and that never happens. I got the fajita quesadilla and it was okay. Kind of greasy, not cut, hard to eat. This place does have the draw of Main Street, which can be cool as it's near other things like Spots Gelato. Or, you can view it as "parking is difficult". Does it knock Gustavo's off the top tier in La Grange? I don't think so, but it comes pretty close. read more

I've been here 3 times and have only gotten the Al Pastor tacos. The food is excellent. The Servers are always quick and nice!

Had lunch with clients yesterday at this place. Had a good sized lunch crowd but service was pretty quick. Good sized menu with all of the usual fare and a couple custom dishes. We are regulars at Gustavo's, but tonight we cheated and tried Ernestos. My wife and I both loved it! I had the pineapple fajitas which was served in a half pineapple. It had so much flavor and the portion sizes were great. Also, you can get black beans instead of refried beans, which is a huge plus for me. My wife had shrimp fajitas and a margarita and liked both, but she thought her margarita was really good. Service was great as well. We will definitely be back. read more

OMG! This place is such a quaint little place on Main Street in good ol' La Grange, KY. On our drive back from Cincinnati to Fort Knox, KY, I did a quick search for a Mexican restaurant and stumbled across this little gem. We asked the kind server, Britney, what is the favorite dish and she suggested the Pineapple Fajitas and the Pollo dish with cheese (can't remember the name). Anyway, I've never had pineapple fajitas in my life, especially with it being served in a pineapple! It had chicken, shrimp, Fresh pineapple (that they cut fresh daily), onions and peppers and it was absolutely delish! The price point on this is so much lower than one would expect, it was like $12!! Crazy! The ambiance and the decorative atmosphere is very nice. This is the kind of restaurant I don't want people to find out about, because I want it all to myself!! But I can't be selfish, so I must share how valuable this place is. Britney our server was so helpful and always had a smile on her face. Ernesto's opened up this week on Main St in La Grange - welcome to town! I had the pleasure of stopping in for lunch on their second day and had a nice meal with a friend. The lunch portions are generous at reasonable prices, I tried the chicken taco (it took up the entire plate) and my lunch date had the lunch fajitas - we both brought leftovers home. And I couldn't help but notice how fresh the ingredients were, the chicken in my taco was pulled and seasoned nicely, the vegetables were bright and guacamole had been made minutes before our order. There were a few small items I thought were off - the mild salsa just tasted like crushed tomato (mild can still have flavor!) and the guacamole portion was small compared to the chips and other items. I'm going to guess these are a case of new to town jitters as these guys are working out their rhythm. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more on this extensive menu! I heard from another patron that the fish tacos are delicious, maybe that's next! read more

I stopped in with my wife and mom for lunch. First impression, friendly and WOW clean. The floors were swept often and all of the staff hustled. They have a very good selection of items on the lunch menu. The servers were friendly and professional. The food was delicious, quite a step above the typical Mexican restaurant. Made a quick trip across the street to Ernesto's for lunch. Was promptly greeted and seated. The usual chips and salsa was delivered to us. It was rather tasty, not bland and mostly tomato sauce like most places typically offer. I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas & my lunch partner had the chicken burrito. Both were very delicious. The only note I would make is that there was no typical "salad" with either plate. So your usual lettuce, sour cream wasn't available. I asked for a side of sour cream and the kitchen obliged no problem. I didn't get to try any drinks but there sweet tea was quite good as well. I would definitely return! read more
