    Barbacoa chicken and rice burrito

My wife and I ate at Papis twice during our Greenville visit. The first night we found the ground beef and barbacoa chicken tacos delicious but small. The second night we found a barbacoa chicken burrito huge with seasoned rice and pico, only needing the red hot sauce to bring out the flavors. The metal tables and chairs are efficient ambiance for dining. The service was first rate with fast preparation and table delivery. Great tasting food with a river view!

Papi's tacos is located right on the river with a great view. The space inside is pretty limited and there are only a couple tables outside so it can sometimes be challenging to find seating on weekends. Service is quick and everyone working there was friendly. We ordered 6 different tacos and thought they were just okay - birria taco and pulled pork tacos were good, but all other tacos were pretty bland and didn't have much flavor. Tacos range from $4.5-6 which is on the pricier side and are pretty small, so you would need to order 3-4 depending on how hungry you are/ supplement with appetizers. I might try tortas next time instead of tacos, but probably not going to come back.

Papi's Tacos in Greenville has the perfect location--right by the river with cozy outdoor tables and umbrellas, making it an ideal spot for people-watching while enjoying some seriously delicious food. My husband and I both got a torta, and it was fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the view. A huge shoutout to Nury, who made me one of the best homemade margaritas I've ever had! She confidently said they were the best in the area, and after tasting it, I 100% believe her. The service was impeccable, and the whole experience was top-notch. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and a perfect riverside setting!

Good location, nice service, very good food. This is a mom and pop place and do a good job. Tacos were excellent. We shall return.

Just some good food. Carnitas tacos had generous meat that was tender and well marinated. Corn taco shells were soft yet strong to not fall apart. Chicken torta also quite good. Chicken was diced/ground and seasoned up well.

El Pastor with pineapple. Veggie taco was gone before the photo was taken.

Love Papis ' new, additional, spot on Augusta Street. Plenty of seating including a couch area. The inside was very cute too. The veggie taco and the el Pastor were both excellent. Great service.

Service- staff were friendly but the POS system is garbage. Bring cash only here basically. 3/5 Ambience- very authentic vibe inside the restaurant and also feels bright. 4/5 Food- chips and salsa is very fresh, salsa got some heat and the chips are crispy. 4/5. Left to right is chicken taco, al pastor, and shrimp tacos. Chicken taco is very fresh and flavorful, corn tortillas warm and the chicken is packed with Mexican flavors. 4/5 Al pastor taco has very tender pork and has bold flavors. The onions and cilantro add another depth of freshness but the pineapple doesn't exactly work as well. 3.5/5. Shrimp taco is very bright and is the most fresh of all! However, the shrimp could use some more flavor. 3.75/5. Lastly, don't forget the Jarritios Mandarin to wash it down.

Loved this place! The food was authentic, fresh, and super tasty! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is better here, IMO, particularly on a nice day, because it's along the river boardwalk. I honestly didn't expect that I'd find good and authentic Mexican-style street tacos in SC. This place proved me wrong. I ordered 6 kinds: al pastor, chicken and chorizo, cactus and refried beans, fried fish, chicken barbacoa, carnitas; and I also got the guacamole and chips, and the horchata drink. The only taco that I wasn't too excited about was the cactus; it was a bit bland. My favorite taco was the fried fish (I'm not even a fish person and I liked it!). The guacamole also was excellent! Then, to top it off, the service was incredibly kind. Everyone from the owner, servers, to cleaning crew were super kind and hospitable. You could tell they all genuinely care about working there. And, according to the owner, they have been going strong in the same location for 8 years! I would definitely come back!!

She was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. Juliette also made our spicy fresh salsa herself and it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the shrimp and chicken fajita's and I had the Carne Asada and we both could not stop commenting on how excellent everything was prepared and delicious the food was! I just can't say enough about the incredible food, service and ambiance. Thank you so much Juliette for your awesome service, kindness and positive customer service we had the pleasure of enjoying while visiting with you! I try so hard to never be demanding or unkind--I already hate having to be different. It's not a fad, it's celiac, I have no choice. It's extremely embarrassing and downright rude to be treated this way for simply asking a question. So if you're gluten free, they have great options, but it's very clear they do not like serving those with allergies.

Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but you do get these cute little wagon wheel looking chips called duros. They're like puffed air and remind me of pork rinds but not as crunchy and probably made from flour. The drinks are all delicious and strong. The margaritas are small but watch out, they'll sneak up on you! Lots of options. They specialize in tequila and mezcal with flights as an option. The bar is the spot to be; bartenders are friendly and they have small TVs to watch whatever sports are in season. The atmosphere is a little lacking in my opinion, but it's all about the food. Food is delicious and the portions are larger than expected. We got the chips and queso, Heidi's Flautas, soup of the day, and the Birria Egg Rolls. Too much food for 2 people so we took some home. For our entrees we chose shrimp mofongo- which we really see in small cities being that it is the national dish of Puerto Rico- and the paella for one. Both were wonderful. I would argue that the size of the paella should be be renamed as a lid of a trashcan serving. It was giant and we barely put a dent in it before asking for a to go box.
