I live in Massachusetts which has an abundance of seafood restaurants, but none can compare to Pappadeaux's Seafood Kitchen. I've dined at Pappadeaux's in Houston, Dallas and Denver. My latest visit was to the Woodlands TX location. I met my brother and sister-in-law for happy hour drinks and appetizers, we sat at the bar. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We had the catfish beignets, oysters on the half-shell, peel and eat shrimp, cup of gumbo and side salads. The gumbo was delicious with warm French bread, oysters were fresh, and catfish meat was flakey and fried to a crispy brown crust. Salad was refreshing when paired with house-made Greek dressing. HH drinks were a great deal. Pappadeaux's was celebrating 30 year anniversary and the special on Thursday's was 2 1lb Maine lobsters with side items for $29. I've been to Maine many times and Pappadeaux's $29 lobster meal could not be beat. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go for a really nice date night 7/27, we started with the alligator bites and they were amazing!! My boyfriend had the red snapper and that was phenomenal! The only "but" to the night was my crawfish etouffee, as soon as our waitress set it down the smell was off but gave it the benefit of the doubt. To say the least, the crawfish tails had the "been frozen" texture and my rice was over cooked/mushy, just two things you would never expect from such a nice/ expensive restaurant. Pappadeaux is always a place I bring friends and family when they visit. Their crab cake is to DIE for. Big chunks of crab and that amazing sauce that goes with it is heaven on a plate. The fondue is a go to as well if you love creamy yummy seafood. Drinks are great as well here but we always come for the food! Fish is always cooked perfectly and you can never go wrong with that. Service is spectacular and I truly look forward to coming here every time, even if it's just for an appetizer and drink at the bar. read more

We came here today, Friday, July 29, 2022. Obviously going to be busy on a Friday night. We got here around 7pm and we're immediately seated. Party of four. Two adults and two small kids (3 &5 yr old hungry boys). We were pleasantly greeted by our waiter named Meek. He was helpful, professional, personable and FAST! We ordered two drinks from the bar, drinks for the kids and an appetizer that wasn't even on the menu. Order the crab fingers *chefs kiss.* We also got the ridiculously good LOAF of bread after the fingers came out. Food was out shortly after. Husband got Crawfish étouffée, I got Mahu Alexander and both kids got fried shrimp and chicken. EVERYTHING was so F***ing good!!! I couldn't even pick, so I asked Meek what his favorite was. Let me say again how well our waiter was...Multiple times he came and made sure we were taken care of. On. A. Friday. Night. The restaurant was literally packed! We had a couple with their little girl come in after we had our food with a HAPPY MEAL and MOVED tables after being seated to our section....I already knew they would be an issue they were rude, inconsiderate and angry...at what...not sure...maybe McDonald's forgot the nugget sauce for their kid.... I went here for a birthday party. She had reserved two tables...there were several waitresses and waiters working both tables. I ended up ordering the Red snapper & shrimp when my order came I discovered that my fish still had scales on it that almost choked me. I immediately told the waiter and he took the plate back to the kitchen and said that he will have them make it fresh...well it came out the same exact way.. with scales on it so, I talked with the waiter again & he asked was there anything else I was willing to try.. so I ordered the shrimp & grits... terrible mistake, it was so salty you couldn't eat it... I literally needed a glass water after two bites..another guest at the party had already warned me that her shrimp & grits was also way too salty but thought maybe it was just hers! So, I believe it was the manager she never really said who she was asked if I wanted anything else so by that time I'm beyond disappointed... Excellent! Had lunch there recently, it had been before COVID since we'd been there last . My wife had salmon plate and it was superb.

Everything was amazing, even my kids shrimp. True story you good probably share some stuff. We had a ton leftover. The shrimp po boy had lightly breaded Shrimp cooked to perfection on warm crusty French bread. The seafood Cobb salad was amazing and keto friendly. Highly recommend. read more

This location does get busy quick on a Friday night, so plan on a short wait or do call ahead to get on the list. Otherwise, had a fantastic dinner! If you can request Glenn D as your server, do it - even if you have to wait for him... yes, he's that good! He's professional (EXTREMELY professional; must have a background of very high end training), he's attentive, and he will make sure everything is perfect. First time we had this server, but believe me, he's who we will ask for next time. I started with a cup of the crawfish bisque which is creamy, a little spicy, and a great starter. Unlike some other places, this bisque seems to have the right balance of cream and seasoning for a smooth finish. Very enjoyable. Moved on to a new dish, the Salmon Alexander. Blackened salmon (cooked medium rare/medium), shrimp, crawfish, and scallops in a wine/cream sauce. Man was this good! The salmon was cooked just right (hate when they overcook salmon and dry it out), with an abundance of crawfish tails, shrimp, and scallops on and around it. You can choose either the 7 oz or 11 oz salmon; I went with the smaller piece but really, it seemed large enough to me. The cream sauce was smooth with a little kick and very tasty. There was enough sauce to enjoy it, but not so much your fish was swimming. Normally this comes with dirty rice. However, I'm not a fan of rice so I substituted for a side of cheese grits with andouille pieces. First time I had this side and I'm in LOVE. It was spicy, creamy, melt in your mouth goodness. I wasn't really aware this was a side option before but saw it on another plate going by and asked about it. It's a free substitution for any side - you need to try this! My hubby tried the crispy salmon from the Chef Selection and really enjoyed it. He ordered it medium rare and it was a well presented, thick fillet seared to a nice crispy exterior with shrimp, lump crab meat, and a jumbo scallop on top all over sauteed spinach. He dug in and never let me try it, so we'll just have to take his word that it was good. We will be returning to try more things from their new additions to the menu. a GREAT date night Friday for us. read more

My family came here and ate food, and ordered food for my sister and I. When I went to my parents house to eat, a fly flew out of my food; so of course, I wasn't eating it. My mom calls Pappadeaux and the unhelpful manager Brooke "helped" us. Helped, for a lack of words. My mom told her what happened and she had to go and had to "verify" everything they bought. I have NEVER heard of that before but whatever. Anyway, she proceeded to try and give us a gift card when all I wanted to do was eat. My mom told her we just wanted our food and she claimed that Pappadeaux doesn't do that. I have never heard of that in my life. My mom proceeded to ask why not and she couldn't give us a straight forward answer. Unless you want bugs in your food and horrible, unreliable customer service, don't go here. read more

I decided to order curbside to go tonight for my family. We ordered catfish fillets for myself, a bowl of gumbo for my daughter, and my wife wanted a Caesar salad and a baked potato. My wife's potato and the Caesar salad were fine. However the fried catfish lacked flavor and wasn't crispy at all and my daughter's gumbo seemed more like a cup than bowl. This is the second time we order to go and the portion wasn't the same a in the restaurant. Why would I pay $15 for a up of gumbo and $23 for fish that doesn't have any seasoning and isn't crispy. This will be the last time I spend $77 for mediocre food. I literally had to air fry my fish and add seasoning. Just ridiculous. read more

Fried seafood platter items were all over fried almost to charcoal. Oysters and ends of fish filets were unedible.

Let start with the bad Being welcomed at the door was terrible. It was a little girl who looked at me as if I was bothering her when I said table for 3. I then Asked if I could be sat in the bar area. Sadly there were not enough servers to accommodate more people in bar so that was unavailable. After that we were seated at a table that wasn't cleaned from the night before. The table and seats were disgusting. We had to move a chair from a nearby table to have something clean to sit on. I ordered a drink and something was floating in the bottom. I asked to have it replaced with water. I was then charged for the drink that was contaminated. Now for the actual food service. Food was okay. Certainly not the best of the Pappa experiences. Plates were haphazardly put together with splash an smudge around the plate. The server was not very attentive. Even after my drink was replaced it took a matter of time to get a refill. Sadly the refill came after I asked for the check so it wasn't very useful. read more

We went on a Saturday at 5pm and it was BBBZZZZ!!! Not great high priced watered down mix drinks at the bar and NO oysters on the 1/2 shell the main reason we go because they use to be so good (are they now who knows)! Main courses ok for our party of 5 but service not that great and guess what prices have gone up(thankyou covid). Will call ahead next time to see if they have oysters on the 1/2 shell and stick with beer or wine!!! read more

It was my sisters birthday and she had made reservations a month in Advance & when we got there we were seated separately . They did not have a great excuse as to why they didn't have the tables set up in advance . They had another group of people get the table that we were suppose to get. The parm crusted were delightful however the oyster pappadeux were great just TO BUSY,TO MUCH PILED ON TOP..lessen the toppingsand it's a winner......I HAD THE AGED Ribeye steak, perfectly cooked but lacking in the seasoning department. It was supposed to be dry aged IT CERTAINLY DIDNT TASTE IT. For 45 dollars the Steak should be fukkn AWESOMENESS..The broccolini was awesome. Its nice to go somewhere that has something besides BASIC BROCCOLI to offer with their steaks.She had seafood stuffed catfish & rice. A no brainer here. Probably the best sea food I've had in a while! We visited as part of a company dinner and were treated to some outstanding dishes. We tried mozzarella balls, fried alligator and cheese fondue with shrimps. That fondue was the bomb. Main courses included Salmon and Red fish. The salmon dish had crab meat. I don't know where they get that crab, but I want some. It was outstanding. Salmon and Red fish were great as well, the red fish being a little too spicy for my taste. Sides included couscous and dirty rice. If you haven't tried the key like pie, you must. What a treat! Service was excellent. I think they were about four waitresses working with our group. I came in between late lunch and early dinner with not too many people in the restaurant. I was deciding between a catfish or shrimp po boy and Diego suggested the shrimp. It was a great selection. The po boy was loaded with shrimp, sauces, and fresh lettuce and tomato. I appreciated the suggestion and the quality of the food was excellent. I've been to several locations in different states. It was ok. I like good tasting food over quantity. So this did not live up to the hype and I certainly think for the taste that it was way over priced. I had the grits and jumbo shrimp. The sauce taste like sweet BBQ sauce. Yuck! Who eats BBQ sauce with grits with sweet BBQ sauce. The shrimp was jumbo the spinach was bland. And their creams brûlée did NOT have real vanilla. If you live in Houston you will find out that Pappa restaurants are generally the best. For me this wasn't so great. The bill was really high for lunch ($70.00 with just regular sodas) and the food was so so. I actually wound up getting a bit sick afterwords from it. Everything is so delicious here! Great staff! Started with a bowl of Louisiana Shrimp Gumbo. Yum! Then the Giant Grilled Shrimp & Grits was just perfect! The grilled shrimp was the giant gulf shrimp. Shrimp was super meaty & flavorful. Grits were also perfectly cooked & not too cheesy. Tilapia entree was also ordered from the Naked Fish entree section of menu. Very delicious!
