Yes yes yes! Only a few minor discrepancies for our visit. Smoked wings were just okay and service was a bit slow. Everything else was a hit from the kitchen & bar. Drinks - old fashioned had 2 and they tasted amazing, not too sweet and still taste the whiskey...it also did have me staying a little longer to allow the buzz to wear off. Food Wedge Salad - big enough for us 4 to share, loved it, not sure why so many restaurants don't serve this salad, one of my favorites and pretty simple. Gumbo - meaty and very good Smoked wings - lacked a little flavor Flounders were both great - prefer the blackened one, though it did come on the small side, you can't tell from under the seafood sauce. We were looking for somewhere to eat in the Spring area and we decided to check this restaurant out. The parking is free and the restaurant is nice. They have a patio area but it was too cold to eat outside. We came at a great time because we were seated immediately, without a reservation, and then it got crowded. The host was good and explained today's special to us before our waiter came. We started with the Chips & Queso with ground beef and it was AMAZING and had a nice kick to it! I had the Shrimp and Grits and added crawfish to it. It was too bland for my liking even after adding salt and pepper. My husband had the fish and chips and it was good. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and it was good. We tried two cocktails each and they were all great! Our waiter, Ben, was amazing, and the manager stopped by to see how everything went. We just moved to Spring and don't yet have a tribe of friends who can make recommendations for us, so we searched on likely locations and made reservations at Republic Grill in Spring. The atmosphere is nice, not too loud but not too laid back either. We were seated promptly and our server came by for the initial meet and greet and to grab us drinks. (I think his name was Andy). He was super friendly and helpful, happy to discuss the menu which he knew backwards and forwards. He was also very kind in making other suggestions of places we might want to try (both food and non food places). We asked for his recommendations and what we ordered was delish! People were dressed to the nines (Valentine's Day) but also in shorts and sweaters. Everybody was very pleasant. This is the best restaurant in the area. My only criticism is that the last few times I went, the Mac and cheese bites were not up to par. They used to be (less than 6 months ago) perfect and among the best items on the menu every time I went; now they're half the size they used to be, shriveled up, and noticeably more greasy. Used to they could barely fit the 8 bites+ranch in the togo container and there was no space leftover, now the same togo container with the same 8pc+ranch is half empty and the bites are shriveled up and greasy. Took my friend out for lunch to celebrate her recent engagement & she chose here. We started off with a bottle of Prosecco. It was probably one of my favorites and the only thing I enjoyed here. We shared the wings and they were decent. I had the chicken fried chicken with the bacon jalapeño mac and cheese, & broccoli. The chicken could've had some more flavor in my opinion. My friend said she enjoyed her pork chop though. We shared the tres leches - it could've been a bit more moist and soaked in leche. We had a fun family night out at The Republic Grille! The atmosphere was great and really set the tone for the evening. We kicked things off with appetizers (mac n' cheese bites and caprese salad) and those were a hit--definitely the highlight of the meal. For mains, we ordered the chicken fried chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes, Greek salad with chicken, and gumbo. They were okay, but nothing that really stood out compared to how good the apps were. Dessert was the chocolate brownie lava cake. The brownie with ice cream was super tasty, but the "lava" part wasn't really flowy like you'd expect. Still, it hit the sweet spot. Shoutout to our server Scott--he was awesome! Super attentive and easy to chat with, which made the whole night better. Went here for a girls meet up, just a walk in. One of my friend's first time going here. Wait was about 30 mins to sit inside so we opt to sit outside. Although it was raining it's covered so we were fine with sitting outside. We waited for about 10-15 mins for us to get a waiter. Our waitress was Tia, she wasn't very friendly or engaging when taking our order. she was very direct and to the point. Anyhow I got the Caprese as I've gotten before, it was fresh and delicious. Also got the jumbo wings but they were not fully done and the dipping sauce wasn't tasting like anything at all. We all had the wings and had the same sentiments on the taste and how it was done. The food was amazing; everyone at our table of 4 (BLAT with onion rings, pasta , blackened trout, and shrimp with spinach salad) was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The best part? It was just enough; didn't need any doggy bags. Except for birthday dessert. We were celebrating three birthdays (mine included), but everyone was so full that nobody else wanted dessert...and wanted to go home. My husband had the top chop and he said his pork chop was really good. We had a lemons drop & old fashion which were very good. Grandson had iced tea and his glass was kept filled. Sunday 5:30 dinner. Made a reservation and was running late but I called and they were very nice and changed my reservation for 30 mins later. Plenty of parking and staff, plenty of bar space if you just want a drink. Multiple TVs and can see from all seats. They also had a solo musician playing. Over all noise level was moderate and didn't have any problem hearing and talking. Place was pretty full when we arrived but were greeted and seated promptly. Menu had a lot of choices and my date ordered a chicken and penne pasta dish, I ordered the shrimp and grits. My dish was really good (8 out of 10) but not as good as other places I have had shrimp and grits but still enjoyed. The only bad thing to say about my visit is that their sweet tea had an odd taste. Cannot figure out exactly why but either it's the brand of tea they use or maybe they use unsweet tea and add simple syrup or something other. I have been a regular customer at the Discovery Green location since they opened. I was once old by a waiter that I was sitting in "prime real estate" because a friend and I were having drinks and appetizers only at a booth. I let that slide. However, it appears they have been smacked for overserving. The manager on duty last Friday, Sarah (blonde, glasses) humiliated me at the bar after two drinks (over a two hour period), mentioning the TABC several times. It was raining so I opted to have another drink (my friend was driving and I live 5 minutes away), and asked for a Makers rocks. The bartender (who has waited on me on the floor numerous times) gave me a Makers and coke. I had to get his attention to tell him that wasn't what I ordered but he wouldn't make eye contact and soon after Sarah appeared. She was extremely rude. When my friend asked what the difference was between a Makers rocks and Makers coke, she responded, "I'm sorry you feel that way." Whatever. I'll never step foot in this location again. So beware if you feel like having a third drink - you might be unnecessarily and rudely called out in front of everyone for no fault of your own. Sarah needs training on her people skills. read more

I come to this Republic girl multiple times a month if not every other week I get the same thing almost every single time. I've had a few issues with my steak not being well done but I know that that is a odd request so I don't hold it against them, but today took the cake as one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I originally placed an order for a kids sirloin well done with mac & cheese when I got there and got my food. It was just a order of fries. The server told me there was a misunderstanding when the order was taken, so I offered just to bring it back when I did. I was met to the manager telling me that they had it on video the steak going into the box pretty much looking for me to confess something? Even though it easily could've just been picked up as the wrong box I'm not quite sure what happened here, but the overall experience made me feel very uncomfortable even though the food was remade I received poor quality food, and it did not meet the well done standard I appreciate the original server and her patience and I understand that working in the service industry and in the restaurant business is not easy but for someone who is so loyal to come back all the time this experience definitely sealed the deal as my last visit read more

We've been to the Woodlands location and decided to try this location. I found this one a bit more of a casual/comfortable atmosphere. The service was top notch. We got the spinach dip for an appetizer, very creamy and good. A bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo of which was good. A pasta of which I forgot the name of. Came with chicken, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and an Alfredo sauce. I recommend having them add some blackening seasoning to it because blackening seasoning on pasta is just the way to go. Side note: they can leave off anything on the pasta you don't like. And last but not least a little side of the bacon jalapeño Mac n cheese because it's just good, not because we didn't already have plenty of food for 2 people. read more
