    Crawfish Beignets
    HsiaoCheng W.

We were visiting Orange Pocket (again) and decided to pop in here for a late night snack. Wasn't really in the mood for a whole meal so got a couple of appetizers - the crawfish cheesebread and the crawfish beignets. They both taste pretty much like they look in the pics. Although I was told they're different, I kinda felt the filling of the beignets tasted too similar to the topping of the cheesebread, such that I'd probably opt for just one or the other next time. Staff was friendly. Outside tables were wobbly. We changed tables only to find the new table was equally as wobbly. Their menu has wings, poboys and fried seafood platters. But most people were eating boiled crawfish as one would expect. I'd probably try that if we ever come back again.

Food was excellent! We got the chargrilled oysters and scallion oil oysters - tasty but a bit too buttery. The boiled blue crab with Tx Cajun spices was delicious The sides - fried okra and boiled corn- completed the meal. Service was very good, ambience casual. We'll be back!

This is your neighborhood no frills crawfish boil restaurant. We went on a Monday for lunch and it was pretty busy. Skylar was our waitress and she did a great job juggling tables from inside and out on the patio like a rockstar! App was the crawfish egg rolls and they were delicious. Yummmm. Then I opted for the shrimp and grits and Im soooo glad I did. Every bite was mmm mmm good(sorry Campbell soup) lol. My bestie had a medium spiced crawfish boil and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. This restaurant is #BarbieApproved

The food is really. I have eaten here 2 times and this review is my third time. The first two were take out and this time I ate in. I normally get the fried crawfish platter and sweet potato fries. I tried the garlic noodles this time and they were very good. My favorites are the crawfish egg rolls and fried okra. The okra is not greasy or heavy. Our server Quynh was awesome!! She made recommendations and suggestions that helped us decide what we wanted to order. We will definitely be back.

I've been to the Crawfish Café in the Heights many times so was confident that The Woodlands location would be equally as good. I wasn't wrong. The crawfish were fresh and well-cooked. The portions were generous, and there was a good variety of sauces and spice levels to choose from. The shrimp were plump and buttery. The catfish was crispy and the fried rice was moist and flavorful. The atmosphere is casual and lively. Service was friendly and attentive. Free parking is available in a nearby garage.

I chose the (6) fried shrimp (panko-battered and a little burnt) and (1) catfish filet (tender and blackened) platter that comes with (2) sides. The catfish and shrimp are available blackened for all the fried platters. The side of fried rice has bits of egg, green onion, bell peppers, and slim sausage half moons. It's less fried rice and more tossed hot rice mix. The side of garlic noodles comes thickly coated with garlic-butter and cheese. The yuzu tartar sauce and thick cocktail sauce are chunky and flavorful. I tried some of the crawfish and shrimp boil with lemon and Cajun seasonings. The flesh was cooked well, but the shrimp seemed a little salty. There's a washing area with (2) sinks on the way to the restrooms.

So delicious! I visited on a Friday night after a long week and what a treat this was. Upon walking in we were seated promptly. They had plenty of staff and the service flowed very smoothly. Our server was great! He made suggestions, checked on us frequently and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Each dish was a 5/5!

I've been here several times now and they never disappoint. Never a long wait, service is always friendly and the food is consistently delicious! I appreciate their variety and price friendly options as well. Some of my favorite dishes are the smack bowls, fresh boiled seafood bags and newly introduced crawfish beignets. I first tried these at a festival in The Woodlands last year (thanks Yelp!), so I'm DEFINITELY glad this is a staple on the menu. Drinks are refreshing as well. It's kinda a one stop shop and I love it.

Food and weather was perfect. The atmosphere was the icing on the cake. But the food was seasoned to perfection.

Crawfish Cafe will always be my #1draft pick for crawfish. I've been an avid follower of the restaurant ever since they opened up the first location on Bellaire (iykyk) and was stoked to see that one of my favorite places to eat opened up on the northside of town. WOOHOO! Love to see some Viet-Cajun representation. The food was delicious as always. If you're on the fence about wich flavor to get - get the grail. It's my absolute fav. For some reason I just can't help but feel the original location is always the best. Still really good regardless. The service could use some work. Our server was friendly and welcoming but the issues started further down the line. When my food came to the table, it was already kind of cold... giving the impression that it sat in the kitchen for a fat minute before being dropped off at the table. The second issue is that once the food was dropped off at the table, it was really difficult to flag down a server. It was also really discouraging to see servers almost try to avoid eye contact with us. On multiple occasions, we'd successfully flag down a server only for them to say we need to flag down our orginal server instead and then walk away.... Luckily we didn't need too much assistance, so we finished our food and went on our merry way. The food is awesome, I'd reccomend this place to anyone and everyone. If the team could work on imnproving the customer service, this place would be a 10/10.

My niece flew in from the UK and has never tried crawfish or crabs. This place came to mind because I had recently gone to an event and saw them and tried their crawfish beignets. They were sooo delicious. At the event I received two coupons that said I'd get a beignet with a $20 purchase so I brought them. As expected for a Saturday night, the place was packed, couldn't even get parking near the restaurant. The restaurant was busy but we got seated in no time because people were going and coming. Since she's just trying and we aren't sure what she'd like we got what she knew she would like which is wings and fries. Then we ordered two different boil combo. Combo 2 and 3 with addition of sausage. She liked the flavors of the sauces but one of the boils didn't have much sauce, it was too dry but our server quickly got us some when asked. We showed the coupons for the beignets and he said he'd never seen those before and would get more info from his manger which he did and brought us 6, 3 for each coupon, which was more than I expected but I appreciated because they are so good! Drinks were fine had the frozen margs and a New Orleans lemonade and diet cokes. Loved the playful paper on the table. We played tic tac toe while we waited in between meals. Kids were able to draw and color with crayons and they also had cartoons on the tvs for the kids and sports on others for adults. Music was on but it wasn't overbearing. We were able to communicate and enjoy our meal without a lot of noise even though it was a busy night.

My husband and I had date night here earlier and it was absolutely incredible. He ordered the Red Beans and Rice as well as the Salt and Pepper Wings while I had the Smack Pack. We were blown away by how delicious the salt and pepper wings were. Honestly, they might be the best wings we've ever had, EVER. Perfectly cooked, delightful crunch, and the FLAVOR was otherworldly. They were so damn good, I didn't have time to take pictures! The Smack Pack is soooooo big. Incredible value for the price. Our server was an absolute sweetheart and we cannot wait to come back!

I will start out saying that the service was impeccable so ask for Ashanti. She was 5 stars! The food was ok and sort of disappointing. Actually, definitely disappointing. Best thing I ate was the fries from my kids meal. The crawfish was overcooked and the flavors were lacking. Don't get me wrong, tons of flavor but was missing something that makes you want more. This was the first time ever that I didn't want to finish my crawfish, my husband did. We also had the Vietnamese chargrilled oysters and those seemed like a bad copy of the ones at Cajun Kitchen. I would not recommend and would not return to this location. Sometimes original is the only good store.

I genuinely wanted to give this place five stars, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing overall. When we first arrived, there was nobody at the front to greet or seat us, and we waited several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Service started off decent enough, but once our food arrived, it felt like we were completely forgotten. Nobody checked on our table afterward, we never received water refills, and our server was essentially unavailable for the rest of the meal. We were also seated next to an extremely loud party that was yelling throughout dinner. We wanted to request another table because it was disrupting the experience, but our server never returned to our section, so we never had the opportunity to ask. For a restaurant that presents itself as high caliber, I was surprised that management allowed such a disruptive atmosphere to continue. As for the food, the BBQ Pork Buns and Siu Mai were both very good. The award-winning Beef Rendang was easily the highlight of the meal and the best dish we ordered. Unfortunately, the Mee Goreng and Malaysian Fried Rice were major disappointments. Both dishes had an unpleasant smell and lacked flavor or seasoning, making them very unappetizing. Another issue was finding a bug on our table during dinner. I understand things can happen, but combined with everything else, it added to an already frustrating experience. We even wanted additional napkins, but again, our server never came back to check on us. Eventually, we became so frustrated waiting for service that we got up and paid the bill ourselves. Ironically, that was the moment our server finally reappeared. To make matters worse, gratuity appeared to already be added to the bill, which honestly did not feel deserved given the level of service we received. Overall, the BBQ Pork Buns and Beef Rendang were the only parts of the experience that saved the meal for us. It's disappointing because the restaurant itself is beautifully designed and has a great ambiance, which made us even more excited to try it. Unfortunately, the poor service and inconsistent food quality overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience.

Dumplings are also a must when eating this style of food. The establishment is very new as they just had their grand opening. There is a very athletic man behind a glass window in the kitchen that will be rolling the dough and forming the noodles with your very eyes. Oddly enough, this makes the noodles taste better. Again, the noodles are freshly made to order and you can see them making it too. You can tell by the mismatched size noodles in your order. The dumplings will have a thicker skin than you might be familiar with. That is because Northern-style dumplings are formed with much thicker doughs. Rest assured, this will have no impact on the rich flavors of the stuffing! The table will also have their homemade chili oil. It is not that spicy but it will greatly enhance every dish you order if you dare. Overall a positive experience here for the price. I had never been to the previous address, but the interior design was so lovely we chose to sit at the new bar. Kady, the bartender (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) was such a doll the whole time waiting us. She kept the chips (touch of louisiana we enjoyed) next to her for refills and made the most twisted hurricane I've had. Definitely walked out clinging to my man lol. We tried the crawfish dip which came with two types of bread, though both went amazing with it. I ordered the lobster ravioli with a side of hush puppies and my old guy ordered the lamb chops, well done, with gumbo (we don't eat pork) and stuffed shrimp. Everything was so damn great tasting. Despite a pretty empty restaurant we were told that only the bar and outside were available. And unlike many other places, they said this bar only allows 21 and older to dine in the bar area, which means only the outside for us. This being a cold (because of the wind) and cloudy morning. Sigh. Asked for a kids menu and was told it's only for 12 and under. Got the evil eye from the hostess when I said my kid qualifies. Then I offered to show them her ID and they backed off with smiles even. The complementary potato chips kind of tasted like Chips Oman. At least they weren't stale and it's a nice addition while you wait. The kiddo got the kids catfish which was just a pretty small piece of fish. Fries were good. Side fruit consisted of strawberries pineapple and red grapes. No drink included. Had to chase down the staff to get some tartar sauce. I wanted a Po Boy but was told they don't offer it on the weekends. Asked about beignets and was told it's only for dessert. Sigh. Decided to get the pork ribeye fricassee. The flavor was good but boy was it salty. Almost like they dropped a whole shaker of salt on it. Good thing there was some rice to counter the effect. Otherwise it would be inedible. So after our meal we had access to the desert menu and got a half order of beignets (4 pieces). They were ok. The dough on these is pretty thick though. Not sure if that's standard but I'd prefer light and fluffy. Soft opening was just the day before. So I think they're trying to find their stride. Water girl was on it though so kudos to her. Waiter was meh. Had to go in and fetch him a few times as they don't come outside much, especially when you're the only one out there. The bar area is small but the bartenders are nice. They have a sectioned off room in the back which might be good for a larger group. Place is kinda small overall though.
