This is one of my favorite restaurants. Had a kicking mango mule and blackened catfish opelous. The blackened catfish has a spicy sauce with crab, oysters and blackened shrimp on top. Add some dirty rice for good measure. One of my favorite all time seafood dishes. Great restaurant! read more

That was really good food. We went with a business guest who has never been here. So we thought to introduce him to Cajun and Creole seafood. Of course he had the alligator as starter. Who wouldn't have, not grown up here I had the seafood plate . Two nicely spiced meat and vegetable sticks. The sticks has already been removed so I could concentrate on the eating. Not how to get it off. The waiter was perfect. Suggestion been made, alternatives offered. He was present when needed but not to close. So no wonder that restaurant was very well visited even during the week. I know it's a good chain so I will check out if the standard is high in all the location. It was a Tuesday when I went into pappadeaux with a friend for happy hour. We definitely wanted to sit in the bar just not at the bar top and it's awesome because they have nice little bar booths for two which were perfect, a little small but they worked. After we sat we were greeted by Carolyn who was so energetic and accommodating. She answered all of our questions we had, met all the drink times and had the fondeaux customized to our liking. The other bartenders were really great about checking in on us as well which is really comforting for a guest. We got the happy hour deep fried alligator and the shrimp and crawfish fondeaux sin crawfish. Everything came out quick, hot and tasted amazing. I started off with a Texas mule(ginger beer, lime juice, titos vodka, simple syrup) amazing as always. I then got a margarita on the rocks and it was great but I enjoyed the mule so much that I went ahead and got another on of those before we left. Let me be clear about this. I love, love LOVE their food. It gets only 3 stars for two reasons: 1) The service tends to be a bit slow. I usually have to wait quite a while to order unless I know what I want and can snag the waiter the first time he/she shows up. Even so, an appetizer and the bread basket will usually be well in the past tense before the main meal shows up. I usually have to ask for my beverage to be refilled and empty dishes aren't cleared promptly. 2) The prices are on the high side even in light of the size of the portions. Just a side note: My mother is 92 and its one of only two restaurants she actually gets excited about visiting. I think eating fried alligator makes her feel adventurous! read more

I'm not one to usually leave a review and Pappadeaux is one of our favorite places to eat but last night I was kind of irritated came to have a date night with my wife we have kids so we don't get out very often. Showed up and we checking in with the hostess and waited about an hour to be seated to then find out that they have a very limited menu about a quarter of their normal menu. I think this should have been mentioned by the hostess when checking in and given an option to look over the menu.we most likely would have left since what we usually get is no longer an option on the menu but we had already waited an hour and didn't want to go wait another hour somewhere else. I am just writing this review for people to see and know that they are offering a very limited menu so ask to see a menu before you wait an hour to be seated and get food that you may not want. read more

The little princess and I came here for our Friday night date night and had a great time. We started with the Crab and Spinach Dip; it was full of flavor, it's pretty much always a bit strong on the garlic, but the princess eats it by the spoonful. The crispy, thin, crostini (little toast) it comes with is yummy, but it can't really hold up to the weight of the dip, so it's best to eat it with a fork. Princess ordered the Alaskan King Crab and it was FRESH, SWEET, and DELICIOUS!! It comes with a side of my favorite Pappardelle Pasta; always delicious!!! I ordered the Crab Finger dinner and it was great as usual, fried or sautéed, both yummy, but the sautéed are slippery little suckers... a bit harder to eat, for the little ones... she always opts for fried... substituted the fries for their AMAZING "Cheese Grits Andouille and Corn". Those grits are, again, AMAZING! The sausage gives it a little spice and the golden, SWEET, corn... just amazing. Too full for dessert this time, but of course, we'll be back. I would defintley recommend James as your server he was on point from the beggining to the end. The food was great, all courses came out perfect and on time. We even splurged and had desert which is rare. We will definatley be back and hopefully, James wil be iur waiter. read more

Great food, great service, loud ambiance. This place is always packed (rightfully so!) and always a bit on the loud side. They often have live music in the bar area. Parking area is sufficient at the present time but with a new restaurant opening next door, that may not be the case. Time will tell. Definitely recommend eating here. read more

I went here with my fiancé for Valentine's Day and the food was great. We had the shrimp and crawfish fondue, and it was amazing. The fondue was worth every penny, and I couldn't recommend it more. Wow! Being a California native, I was excited to see what the hype about this restaurant was, and they really mean what they say in that everything is bigger in Texas! I was overwhelmed with the size of the place Our waitress was EXTREMELY kind to us in that she smiled every time she served us, something I'm not accustomed to! The food was great, we were starving so having warm bread the table kept me from being too hangry (our kind waitress kept replenishing quickly too). We started with the crab Mac and cheese, it was just ok. The cheese wasn't sticking to the noodles like it should. I had a wedge salad and lobster bisque. The bisque was sooo yummy especially because it has a red pepper kick to it! We also splurged on dessert, creme brûlée and banana cream pie to share. OH MY GOODNESS- to die for. My fiance and I ate here for dinner on a Sunday night. They have plenty of parking behind the restaurant which is always nice. We were seated right away even though they did look pretty crowded. The food is always consistently good, if you are looking for good seafood. If you're looking for a seasonal menu that's inventive then this isn't your place. I ordered the oysters duo as an appetizer and they were great. You get 6 oysters; 3 topped with cheese and 3 rockefeller style (with the addition of crab meat). Both styles were very good and I would definitely order again. For my meal I ordered the small Greek salad and it's always one of my favorite salads! They make it table side and you get to decide what you want them to mix in. It's always delicious and is definitely a salad I crave from time to time! The small is very large (big enough to be your meal) so it would totally be enough to split between two people. My fiance ordered the filet. The steak was seasoned well, but was cooked a little over medium. She ordered asparagus and mashed potatoes as her sides. The asparagus was good, but I prefer the skinny stalks (I think they are more tender) versus the larger stalks and that's what they served. The mashed potatoes were also good, I think they needed some additional seasoning to amp them up, but they do mash their potatoes with the skins and I like that! Kudos to the Pappa's brand and the standards they set, both in their food and drink offerings and in the outstanding staff they hire. We had a wonderful time with Hailey as our server at Pappadeaux on I-45 near The Woodlands. Outstanding. She was at our table to greet us within seconds and we were taken care of throughout, never lacking anything. When Hailey passed by checking on all of her guests, she noticed if something needed refreshing, right down to the tartar sauce that was getting low as we enjoyed our entrees. I was in The Woodlands for a friends wedding a couple weeks ago and my friend took me to Pappadeaux for my first time. SOOO good. I had the lobster bisque, which was super yummy, to start and the salmon with dirty rice and asparagus as my entree. Soo yummy! They served my salmon with a scampi sauce.. big fan. Please stay away from this nasty place. Visited this restaurant for the first time on February 16th 2019 for my cousin's birthday dinner. I was in a party of 25. I ordered rainbow trout with shrimp and steamed spinach. The food wasn't hot and was probably been sitting out for a while. I ate 1/4 of the serving (since I never been there before and didn't know the serving size was big.) ate the food and hours started feeling sick. The next day ending up at Herman memorial hospital with the worst dose of food poisoning. The doctor confirmed that it was food poisoning. That was the first place I ate out when I landed in Texas. I called the restaurant and I was told I needed to speak to the corporate person Wendy Smith. Called her and explained the situation and told me to send in my medical bills and they would take care if it. I flew back to Raleigh, NC feeling horrible and went to my doctor for follow up and was told I had to let it run out of my system. I was feeling horrible. A couple of days after the diarrhea returned and I passed out breaking three of my front teeth. I incurred 8500.00 in medical and dentist bills . I have insurance and that was my out of pocket expense. I contacted Wendy Smith and sent her all the proof, bills and they forwarded it to Travelers Insurance Company for review. I had all the ER notes and test results confirming food poisoning. I was told since the first initial ER didn't do a stool test that they couldn't prove it was food poisoning caused by Pappadeaux Restaurant. I was not looking to gain from this situation. I experienced a horrible situation and being an insurance underwriter felt that the insurance company acted unfair. I have a real case and they denied my claim. I hope no one ever has to go through what I went through. I would NEVER eat at any of this nasty restaurant called Pappadeaux again ! I hope they close down! Be AWARE !!!! read more

I usually enjoy eating here. The shrimp, crab, and spinach cheese dip was a decadent favorite of mine. The butter bread sprinkled with parmesan was one carb I couldn't resist. Last time I went the dip recipe was changed...not tasty anymore. .not cheesy!! Bread was no plain no buttery parmesan goodness! Even the entree I ordered just wasn't up to par. They also got rid of the best side dish! The cheesy bacon potatoes. People..this is no bueno. I have worked for Pappas Steakhouse, so I am aware of the quality customers expect. I've always enjoyed my visits to Pappadeaux but this time around blew me away. I have been in the restaurant industry for 6+ years and I can honestly say this company cares about their guest service. I had just arrived in town to visit friends and family for my birthday and this place was selected for my surprise dinner. They were very packed being a Saturday night but something told me it would be worth the wait. Candace was our server and she was very well knowledged with the menu and suggested one of the yummiest Ahi Tuna dishes I've had in a while. She did a great job with following up ensuring we were all happy with the outcome of our entrées. There unfortunately was a mishap with my dish, I ordered the 11 oz tuna and we all knew that was not what I received. Of course I got miss Candace's attention about it and their manager Megan was IMMEDIATELY on it. She apologized and ensured they were working on the correct size entrée I order and had it out in no time as I enjoyed what was already prepared. Now that's what I call FIX-IT +1!! GREAT JOB GUYS!! We had a wonderful dining experience all and all and my birthday dinner came to an amazing end. All 5 of us had another perfect meal, on Father's Day. This place again, knocked it out of the ball park for 5 more Home Runs. Each meal was cooked to perfection with incredible flavor and generous portions. We made reservations therefore seating was quite convenient, being their hosting staff was on top of everything. I have always loved Pappadeux but they completely ruined my husband's birthday dinner. Our waiter seemed fine at first..::when he finally brought out our food 45 minutes after we ordered, my husband's order was clearly wrong and he forgot to put in my daughter's order. He literally argued with my husband telling him that he ordered the red fish bc the other dish my husband ordered was no longer available. He took both our dishes away and then we were told by a manager it would take at least another 10 minutes to cook my husband a new entree (the entree was magically available again). 20 minutes later, no food. We needed to leave soon because we were scheduled to meet friends for his birthday, thinking we'd had plenty of time to eat. The manager came over and actually said our food was almost ready and if we wanted it still, he could box it up for us. We said no, we'll it it at our table and we ate what we could (it wasn't great) and asked for the bill so we could pay and leave. A totally different manager came over and told us our bill was taken care of but we still needed to pay for our drinks (two iced teas and a Sprite). I kid you not. $10 for drinks but he wanted to give us a complimentary dessert (which we refused and was as much as the damn drinks) for my husband's birthday. Worst service and can't believe how management handled the whole fiasco. Will not return to this location. read more

The manager created a great environment for our water polo team playing a national championship in Conroe. It was the same day as the Cal-Oregon football game. The manager accommodated the group of 30 in a big room with a TV. The seafood was solid and nicely prepared -- salmon on cedar or beefsteak tomato salad with crab meet.
