We drive here to get their rolls and even buy some for people at work. Even people that have lived overseas have gone with us here because it is such a famous place.

I ordered a Toffee to go. The inside dining area looked neat and clean though. Bun tasted good, but the price was a bit too high.

It was worth the drive to go here, owned by a very nice Pakistani family.. the place was very clean and very spacious, the owner was super accommodating about everything, and everything we ordered was just delicious.. we ordered biscoff, signature buns, and Nutella buns; everything was delicious. If I ever go back to Chicago I will definitely go again here cause of the service and the fresh food.

Beautiful cafe with lots of space for friends and family to enjoy. I was happy with my drink although it was a little extra sweet. The biscoff bun was tasty with a crunchy outside and soft center however the mango strawberry bun was slightly disappointing. Overall experience was neutral. I would go again since the couple that owns it were super sweet.

I'm glad this PappaRoti is open after the downtown location closed. This place serves chai, hot buns, and ice cream. The karak chai is great and has a great spice profile. It does come sweetened but it's not overly sweet like other places. The buns are delicious, soft but also has a crunchy exterior. I got mine drizzled with caramel! The Bun costs $5 and the drizzle costs $2. I think the extra drizzle should only cost $1 though. The place has many tables and comfy seats to chat away. The menu did not have any savory items like small sandwiches though. Lastly, the place closes at 8 pm so I wish it was open later like the Chai places on Roosevelt Road.

First time visiting this place and we were shocked! The staff who took our order were super nice and welcoming! The place is quiet, and clean. We ordered the up north bun and it was delicious, just the right amount of sweetness we were looking for a Friday night! I will 100% be back for more buns!

Blown away by these coffee buns, I got the mona lisa which comes with the coffee bun, vanilla ice cream, strawberries and bananas drizzled in chocolate and caramel sauce. The top layer of the bun is a "coffee caramel butter" cookie layer packed with flavor. Definitely coming back again~ I also got the biscoff shake but honestly think it could use more biscoff flavor. Would I order again? Not really unless they change up the recipe for this. Their menu is actually quite vast, it's a little more than just coffee buns and shakes, they have coffees, smoothies, buns with ice cream in them, and more. Store is clean, brightly lit, has many seats. Service was good as well, definitely give this place a try, I've come across it so many times on yelp and never thought much of it but now it's one of my favs for desserts

My husband and I decide to try out this place since their desserts looked unique and good. We got the Ferrero Rocher one which was great. A nice combination of crunch, sweetness, and fluffiness. My husband got the Karak tea and he enjoyed it. We felt that the atmosphere could use more character and the space was too large.

This is a good place for you to enjoy amazing sweet coffee flavored buns and a cup of coffee. The store is very spacious with great smell of coffee and buttery buns lol. I just can't describe how I love the buns here. I got them everytime I come, it makes me feel like where I usually got paparotti in my hometown. Service is fine, it can get a bit busy sometime but I never waited more than 15mins. Great experience so far.

    Classic bun and latte

Went here with a group of people and they had plenty of seating. Most of us got the classic bun. Didn't know what to expect and it was pretty good.

We bought a pack of 12 buns to go. Dined in to try a bun. It was super delicious. It is definitely worth the drive. Drove from Chicago because my wife really wanted these buns. I highly recommend it. The guy on the counter was super nice. Check this place out.

Use to have this in Malaysia and when I heard Pappa Roti is n town I was estatic. The signature bun especially is simple but so so good! Crispy exterior and soft gooey interior.

Must try! Before I give my review I want to give you a backstory to this establishment. 20 years ago I visited Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and went to this coffee place called Roti Boy that had coffee but was known for this bun called the "Mexican Bun". I always thought it would have been cool to make that Mexican Bun here in America because it's so good. Pappa Roti seems to be a spinoff of Roti Boy as everything is exactly the same, but they call it a "Signature Bun" instead of the Mexican Bun. In Malaysia these buns are served mostly in the mornings with coffee similar to how we sell donuts here in America. I was blown away when I saw this Pappa Roti and their signature bun so I stopped in to give it a try. It wasn't even in Yelp yet so I set this up for them and excited to be the first to review and give everyone this backstory..... On to my review. The Signature Bun (Mexican Bun) is a fluffy dough ball that tastes like coffee and cinnamon.... Who wouldn't love that? The Mexican Bun in Malaysia has a lot more butter inside, so it's practically dripping. Comparatively the Signature Bun has much less butter and juicy drip.... Maybe after this review they can add more butter. It's a really tasty bun but doesn't seem as sweet as donuts, so you don't feel so bad eating them. They have a bunch of options if you want to flavor your bun or just eat it plain. A bunch of coffee and drink options as well. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Yummy food! Must try the buns... the honey one in particular. The Karak chai was too good! Loved the salad and sandwich too!

Their minds were blown when I told them they could have both... ... so thank you for having the mini size! Great for kiddos and adults. It's $5.75 and the perfect serving if you don't feel like eating your day's worth of calories in sugar and more sugar. The cookie jar ice cream flavor was right up my girls' alley, with Mother's frosted animal cookies, chocolate chips, and other cookies mixed into the base. Note there's like 16 flavors of ice cream and 8 kinds of cookie dough, so plenty to choose from and in whatever combo you want, one or the other, both, an ice cream cookie sandwich or cookie dough sandwich, just the cookies... I loved the cappuccino chip ice cream and was torn between fudge brownie cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough but went with the CCCD. Flavors were spot on, and the cookie dough has that granular sugar texture. Fun fact: the cookie dough is egg free, so totally safe to eat. More fun facts: - there's a wall of candy when you walk in, in case you need more sugar in your life. - walk past the register to the back for ample seating and ARCADE GAMES! This is totally new since my last visit. We enjoyed pinball, Pac-Man, and a couple disappointing rounds of the claw machine. Not my 5yo over here who cried dramatically when she didn't win a stuffy. - open til 11pm or midnight, depending on the night! So fun! If it's the stuff your dreams are made of, you can go out and do something about it! The staff is friendly and as sweet as the products! (They had three different options we could get in pints, but we didn't have a freezer bag to carry it home in.) Jeni's was crowded both times we were there, and I'm sure it has to do with the caliber of their ice cream and wide variety of choices. I didn't count but will guess there were over 30 flavors available for cups or cones. And, their 1/2 scoops are the size of normal scoops. The smallest size available in a cup is two 1/2 scoops. And the difference in price between the sizes is very small. If you have enough of an appetite, I would opt for the larger sizes. The service was great. The location's size is on the small side, we easily found seats. The store is bright and open, and quite comfortable. It was fun and delicious.

I should have gone to the Vietnamese coffee the cashier offered! I also tried a piece of their sour cream coffee cake. Warmed wonderfully, and with just the right amount of sweetness, crispness, and just a little tang from the sour cream. This was terrific, and something I would absolutely get again. The vibe is classic with lots of wood, and plenty of comfortable seating. However, if you choose to take advantage of their WiFi, you are asked to buy a drink first, and then every 30 minutes after an hour. I understand where this comes from, and it serves as a deterrent from someone buying one drink and spending a working day in here. However, it also makes Sweetwaters seem like less of a spot to chill and catch up on Yelp reviews (for e.g.,), as I'd have to set a stopwatch to not break the rules. Final verdict: while the Dragon Eye could've had some coffee flavors, the coffee cake helped bring the experience up. While the vibe is classic, don't expect to sit and work without keeping the drinks coming.
