We haven't visited this location in sometime. They remodeled the location and it's been packed ever since. I saw a video where someone mentioned the Brisket Patty melt. OMG this was the best burger ever. Add it to your list for a must try annnnnd it's big enough to split and comes on jalapeno toast.

Very disappointed. I ordered and PAID for a pound of brisket and a pound of sausage. When I got home I weighed them and realized I received less than 16 oz of each. What really bothered me was that a slice of bread was included with the meat, bringing the weight closer to 16 oz. If that bread is being counted toward the pound I paid for, that feels incredibly dishonest. The food is typically good, but I spent about $50, and at these prices, I expect to receive every ounce of meat I paid for. A pound of meat should be 16 oz of meat, not meat plus bread.

I've been driving by Pappas for years and know they just re opened recently so figured I would give it a try. Went on a Sunday about 12pm and there was a very long line. Took about 30 mins to get to the counter where you order your food. I got the beef trio plate. You stand there and wait for them to make the plate and they hand it to you and you go off and pay. The worker handed me a plate and I asked is this the beef trio? She said no it's the pork trio. So she took it back and yelled for a beef trio. By now the people behind us already have their food so I told them to go ahead. Finally get my beef trio and went to pay. They have a help yourself condiments bar with pickles, jalapeño's, onion plus a few different bottles of bbq sauce. The tangy habanero sauce was delicious and not too spicy at all. Plenty of tables inside and no issues finding somewhere to sit despite how busy they were. The beef rib was a sad excuse for a beef rib. Tiny dried up crunchy meat on the bone. The first bite of brisket I didn't really like because it was quite dry and not much flavour. Some of the other slices were much better with more fat and flavor on it. Beef sausage was good nothing to complain about there. The sides were delicious. Creamed corn and baked beans. Both were excellent. Overall I would go back again. Just don't order the beef rib.

Was really disappointed with the service and the food. I've always wanted try Texas BBQ, and I know Pappas Bar-B-Q isn't the most distinguished BBQ joint but I still had high expectations for it. Unfortunately they have dropped the ball on this one. We had some questions about the food and were given a rude response and an unsettling frown towards us. My group asked for rice, they were all out. We asked for chicken, they were all out and we asked for turkey, all out. Even the yams were all out. I understand that it takes hours for smoked meats to cook but what about the rice and yams? We got our food, tables are clean and the atmosphere is actually pretty nice but again they dropped my expectations. The brisket was cold and dry. It was tender but the brisket was not enjoyable because it was room temperature cold and really dry. It was to the point that it started to taste like beef jerky. The mac and cheese was bland and also cold. The ribs and beans were actually pretty decent. I did see them microwave the ribs before serve but it did not end up being an huge issue for quality. The ribs had a salty dry spice rub. I believe they had a good balance of firmness and tenderness. It's a dry rub rib so sauce was applied with their sweet bbq sauce and their mango habanero sauce. Both sauces were decent. The beans were slightly above average. It had sausage in the beans which was a pleasant surprise, was a little saltier than expected so if you continue to eat the beans you would definitely need water before finishing the dish. I ended up spending around $25 for the 2 ribs and brisket platter. Again really disappointed by this, for this was my first time trying Texas BBQ.

The service was quick and what you would expect from a chain. I picked up the food to go which was brought right to my car. I didn't personally care for my brisket as I thought it was dry and kind of bland. Especially compared to the excellent choices in close proximity. I would recommend the potato salad which stole the show. It had an incredible pickle twist to it.

Rough start. Hopefully y'all can make this $50 order right to some degree, service these days is sad.

Hamburger!!! No cheese. Served as is. I gathered all of my usual condiments, salt, pepper, ketchup and said let me try it before I add anything and people, listen to me...THE BEST BURGER I've had in a long time if not in my life! Why didn't anybody tell me about this. Came out in a decent time. Restaurant clean. Staff was nice!

Pappas BBQ always taste good. It's definitely not the best bbq in Houston, but it's well above average. The food is overpriced in my opinion, but it's good. Definitely add fries to any order for a few dollars more. They are some of the best and the basket is huge. I would tell them no sauce on the sandwich because they have several different sauce options that you can choose and use yourself. One complaint I have is my partner received her sandwich and I had to wait about 10 minutes for mine. Also, several other people were getting served that ordered after me. Additional, they gave me chopped beef when I asked for sliced.

Management here needs to be replaced and online system needs to be fixed. Last night I ordered the family meal and I upgraded the bread to the jalapeño cheddar. There was no option online to add the type of bbq sauce or ask if I wanted pickles, jalapeños or onions. Before even getting my order I was called and notified there wasn't any creamed corn.... No big deal. Swapped it out with something else. I get to the restaurant to pick up my order and there is one slice of cheddar jalapeño bread on a family order. No condiments included so I talked to the manager. How are you going to have a family meal, give the option to upgrade the bread and only give once slice? Are these people not Texan??? One slice of bread on a bbq order..... manger informs me yeah it's only one slice.... She graciously provides me with another slice and some regular white bread. Let's assume the family meal is for 4 people. What are FOUR people gonna do with ONE slice of bread? I know Texas is in a drought but I didn't realize that Pappas was in the middle of a wheat, cheddar and jalapeño famine. Taco Bell is more liberal with their sauce then this place is with bread. I was provided with a SMALL container of six pickle slices, two jalapeños and a whole one? and one ring of onion. Again this is a FAMILY meal. Four pickles is the minimum of one bbq sandwich for most people. I'm a four pickles person. And I should have checked for bbq sauce but I asked in the bbq sauce in the bag to which I was told yes it was in the bag. I get home and guess what?! NOT IN THE BAG. And yes I know I should have checked but after dealing with the bread miser scrogette I was just over the whole experience. Quality of the food was mediocre. I personally would rather hit up Rudy's in the future. Better meats and they have a whole bar dedicated to condiments, aren't skimpy on the bread and always make sure the bbq sauce is in the bag. Sorry not sorry Pappas. You need to do better on behalf of Texas. Also pulled pork had a strange taste like cleaner.....

Got 30 minutes home to eat our meal and the meat inside out sandwiches were completely raw. Even in the drive through we had to pull around and wait. We were so grossed out by the raw meat in both of our sandwiches we couldn't even eat our sides. This is absolutely sickening. $42.11 for 2 sandwiches and 2 fries that we couldn't eat is terrible.

I would have preferred it to be cooked a little more as a personal preference. However it did have a nice flavor and seasoning on it. The green beans are whole but they have flavor unlike some places. Jalapeno spoon bread was delicious it's like corn casserole met cornbread. Hubby got the sampler platter with smoked turkey, ribs, brisket and salmon. Fun fact they will let you sample the meats before you decide on which ones you want. The salmon was hands down the best salmon he ever had he said. It completely hit different and would definitely order again The brisket was juicy and had a great bark on it with amazing flavor and seasoning Turkey wasn't dry at all and had a great smoked flavor Ribs were fall off the bone good with yet again great seasoning Baked beans- didn't care for these at all they tasted like ketchup Mac and cheese was just basic wouldn't order again Potato salad was the best side out of the ones he got. We didn't get to try the ribs as we were told they were out but sounded like they just didnt have the next batch ready. Wish we would have been told that cause we would have waited but not a huge deal. Owner was there, at least I think he was the owner, and he was going around to each table to make sure everything was good. That was appreciated. I always appreciate when the owners are there and personable.

Good place if you wanna avoid those brunch spots on the weekend or that downtown traffic hussle and bussle. Good vibes, and family-friendly place. Locals come here from Atascocita/Humble/Kingwood more so. Parking can be challenging, but I guess it depends on the time and day coming. The number secures your spot in line but don't worry if you show up and they run out, there's a spot on the porch where the non-number line starts. Staff were friendly, and service was speedy. I ordered brisket(moist), pulled pork sandwich, mac n cheese, potato salad, beans, apple cobbler, and a baked potato. The potato salad was a pleasant surprise! It is not your traditional potato salad, but If you enjoy anything dill flavored, you'd love it! The brisket was moist and flavorful, melt in your mouth good!!! The other sides were just okay, not bad but nothing stood out. The cobbler was a bit too sweet and it did not seem as though the ingredients were mixed very well. It was like they dumped sugar on top and baked it without mixing it. Pulled pork sandwich was meaty and flavorful. Pretty good BBQ Experience!!!
