I am genuinely stunned by the low ratings this restaurant has received. It seems that chain restaurants often face harsher scrutiny, but our experience was nothing short of phenomenal! We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and were impressed by the vibrant atmosphere, extensive menu, and excellent value. The menu creatively blends Tex-Mex with BBQ, offering a wide variety of options to satisfy any palate. The restaurant boasts ample seating both indoors and outdoors, as well as a lively bar area--perfect for a casual meal or a fun outing. Our meal began with a generous basket of crispy chips accompanied by smoky salsa, setting the stage for what was to come. I opted for the Red Snapper Ceviche ($15.95), and I was pleasantly surprised by its freshness and flavor. The ceviche was served with thicker chips specifically designed to hold the delicious mixture--an impressive touch that showcased their attention to detail. My boyfriend chose the lunch beef and chicken fajitas ($23.95), which were absolutely amazing. Both the steak and chicken were incredibly flavorful and juicy, making each bite a delight. The dish came with an impressive array of accompaniments: rice, beans, fresh flour tortillas, garlic butter, pico de gallo, cheese, and sour cream. I was particularly impressed to learn that the tortillas are made fresh on-site using a machine in the back--what a treat! This restaurant has quickly become our go-to Mexican spot! I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu. I also want to give a shout-out to our wonderful server, whose name I regretfully did not catch--she truly enhanced our dining experience. On Sunday a group of Mexican American friends gathered at Your restaurant for a special birthday party. 16 guests all arrived together to an almost empty restaurant to be told it would be a 15 min wait. After 20 min our party planner returned to the hostess booth to be told we had not been told 15 min but it was a 25-35 min wait. It was frustrating to say the least considering the restaurant was Not Busy at all. We all waited another 15 min to be seated. Once we were seated the waitress arrived and proceeded to fling the drink coasters around the table. After we had ordered we continuously had to ask for items such as straws, limes, etc which should have been offered. Once we finished our meal we requested a birthday dessert for our guest of honor. We then had to request a "Happy Birthday" song to which we were told No that the wait staff were too busy. Then not 5 min later the table next to us was sang to. We got up to speak to a manager who was a little less rude than the wait staff. Shortly afterward the staff came to sing Happy Birthday to our guest. When we rec'd the bill they had charged us for the birthday dessert. We again spoke to the manager who removed it and comped a few of our other desserts. Have you ever heard the story of how bad service gets told over and over but good rarely gets recognized?? Well this is why. We are a group of Mexican American Business Professionals whose English may not be perfect, but we are well aware of what customer service means and what is appropriate and what is not. I was hoping this would be better than what we got considering how awesome the one in Houston is. Our waiters were way too busy, yes waiterS and still couldn't get the job done. The server that greeted us took drink orders and only got the alcohol drinks and completely forgot about the soft drink. Our actual server only offered waters. Every time we needed something we had to wait until we could find him to waive him down. Worst part, we were there for a good 2.5hrs, one person in our party got a Long Island and felt that her drink tasted a bit like sanitizer. We told the manager that she was barely able to even make it half way and we were lucky that she came by because the server hadn't and the manager looked at us crazy and just told us how the machine that washes dishes work. Then offered to make half of the drink over. Literally took the 1st glass and measured it exactly. Probably won't be going back. read more

I've always been a fan of this restaurant, and every visit has been a consistently great experience with solid meals and outstanding service. But this time, they introduced something new--the lamb chops--and let me tell you, these are some of the best lamb chops I have ever had. I'm not exaggerating! For just $39.99, you get six generously sized, perfectly cooked chops served with flavorful grilled veggies, beans, and rice. The seasoning was spot on, and the meat was tender and juicy with just the right amount of char. Every bite was an absolute delight. Honestly, I would return just for these lamb chops alone. They've set a new standard for what I expect in a great dish, and I can't wait to come back for more. I really enjoy pappasitos, especially their frozen margaritas. You can get mango mixed with strawberry and they're absolutely incredible. It tastes like dessert, but there is plenty of alcohol in there too to get you lit. They also have good calamari and some other random things you wouldn't expect from a Mexican restaurant. The service is generally fast and good, and the food is very consistently well cooked. They do fun stuff like birthday songs and dances for their patrons and the atmosphere is very positive. The only downside is you'd better get a reservation if you're going to go there at night. You wouldn't expect a chain restaurant to get this busy so often, but it's kind of a testament to how good it is. Not worth the 45 min wait most nights though... read more

Went to Pappasito's on the Saturday before Father's Day to avoid the crowds the next day. Was very disappointed in the food. The service was good, and I will give credit where credit is due, our waitress was very good, however I've had so much better Mexican food at a hole in the wall mom and pop Mexican restaurant and way cheaper than this place. The salsa was bland, I ordered the $30 fajitas, the beef was tough, the shrimp over cooked, the rice, I'm not even sure what that was. Overpriced, underwhelming, just overall bad. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go to an actual Mexican Restaurant, this place is not worth it at all. We could have spent $50 instead of $120 on a meal at somewhere that was actually food. I had the worst first and second experience there. Definitely not going back place needs to have a deep deep clean inside. I like to go places where you can tell they clean. One of the things I notice the most every where I go. After that disappointment the staff is not friendly, I don't know if those both days everyone was having a bad day? But still no excuse if I'm paying for the service your giving me I expect not something perfect but I also don't expect faces.. Definitely NOT kid friendly! If I could give more stars I would! I just went here with my husband for the first time and it was one of the busiest days of the year (UT Graduation.) We waited about an hour, but we had excellent service. Our food was perfect. We had a fantastic server, names Courtney! And, because it was our first time, the manager (Sarah) personally came out to greet us and gave us the guacomel for free. First time diners. Created reservations the day before. Arrived 15 mins early. Were greeted by friendly staff and promptly seated. Very attentive waitress and servers. Waitress answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable. Everything we experienced was a solid . Fajitas medium well, Prime rib steaks cooked to perfection. All the hot food was hot and the fresh guacamole and Pico de gallo was impressive. We will be back with more family next time. The food is good but not at their prices. Much better to go across the street to Amaya's ie very good tex - mex at 1/3 of the cost. Went to Pappasita's for a customer lunch. Him and I had enchiladas and no appetizers. Cost was $55 - my plate of three enchiladas alone was $24, throw in four corn tortillas with tea, $30 daily lunch? I like the way the restaurant now offers family style ie Fajitas for two at $50 ? Never again. Their other restaurant Pappaduex has increased their pricing year over year bay a good 15% as well. read more

We had the BEST dining experience thanks to Sonya today. She took such great care of us two gals at lunch and let us order queso, soup, 2 HUGE plates of food that we asked for lots of changes on, and extra sauces and drinks throughout the meal. Then she was so sweet to bring us all the to-go containers we needed and some to-go sodas for all the errands we had to run today. I love this place! If you are looking for delicious texmex dining, this is the place to go. Their steak fajitas are amazing. Always cooked to perfection. Yes, the wait time might not always be great, and the space can sometimes feel a bit cramped, but I'm telling you, it's all worth it. We took my in-laws to Pappasito's Wed night and enjoyed the 1/2 price fajitas! They hadn't ever enjoyed the special and since it was approaching Valentine's Day; we decided to treat them to the fajitas. I promise you...Pappasito's has the best fajitas!! Enjoy the food but service can be an issue sometimes. I think that is mainly due to the wait staff having too many tables. Also, the tables are jammed so close together there is barely room to sit. We tried Uncle Julio's this weekend and found the food to be just as good, the service was great and there was plenty of room to enjoy our meal and conversation. read more

Mediocre food and service. New female bartender refused to serve me a small frozen watermelon margarita, said they only sell large. However, I noticed she asked every customer around us if they would like a small or large (strange). I'm not sure that anyone has mastered the art of bacon-wrapped shrimp quite the way that Pappasito's has. It's referred to as "shrimp brochette" on the menu, but might just as well be called "heaven on a skewer". Oh, and the restaurant is nice, and the service excellent. Every time I go to pappasitos the food is excellent and consistent. The food is very affordable and the service is always good. My only complaint is that it gets kinda loud in some spots of the restaurant but its usually not an issue to get moved to a better table. I love this place. Best Tex Mex food in town. read more
