The facility is great; whoever built it knew what they were doing. They even have a place for dogs that are a little aggressive or don't like to be touched. The dog runs have a door that can be raised for the dogs to go out in a field to run and do their business then the dog comes back to in dog run so the staff doesn't even have to touch him perfect place for my dog. When I first went in I said do y'all keep aggressive dogs and I said yes we do. I was very excited to find a place for Kujo. I went back to see where they kept them, and they showed me the door that goes out to the field for them to run. I was so happy. I explained to the staff not to pet Kujo because he doesn't like other people, he's just likes me and my wife, but they decided they need to be able to handle him and pet him. The one boy that works there, I guess he's a man got a little scratch on his arm when he was screwing with Kujo so when I called back about three or four months later, he said they can't keep him because they can't handle him. They have a great place. They just need to train their staff. Even though they have the perfect pace for working dogs that you cant pet they're not trained at all to handle those types of dogs. The boy in the picture below is the boy that caused all the problem, and he lied to me about being there when I picked my dog up. Not one word about his little scratch. They have one male that works there his name is Cole. He is in the picture below feeding Kujo a treat by hand. I had a deal with Cole and other staff to tip them $200 if they send me pictures of Kujo in the field getting his running. We are still trying to find a good place for our baby since his trainer retired. From the Pappy's manager Dee, I appreciate your reply and insight regarding your experience at our facility. I will keep it in mind. We completely understand Kujo's personal space preferences and our team accommodated for that during his previous stays. However, this is not a feasible option going forward as our staff does have to be able to handle any pets in our care. I have reminded our team of our policies for accepting pets to avoid any future uncertainty on the matter. I have also reviewed the footage and can confirm. The employee present was adhering to Kujo's boundaries when Kujo approached the employee first and bit his arm. The bite did break skin but did not require medical attention which I believe is also part of why you were not informed during Kujo's stay in February. Would not recommend bringing your pet here. Today I went in the shop to drop my pet off for his grooming appointment. While waiting in the lobby, the door to the back where the dogs are kept was open. While waiting for the receptionist to finish her phone call, we could hear the workers VERY aggressively yelling at the animals in the back and even heard one worker call an animal a "little bitch". The receptionist quickly shut the door and apologized once she realized we had heard. We immediately cancelled our appointment and left and will never return. We understand that dogs can become rambunctious, but no true "animal lover" would ever treat animals like we heard today. This was my first time at Pappy's and I am never going back. The smell of urine when you first walk in is awful. This is because THERE IS NO OUTSIDE TO THIS DAYCARE, so the dogs have to relieve themselves inside on the floor, and watching the cameras, this is not properly disinfected. I watched a dog poop on the ground, someone picked it up, and then another person RUBBED JUST THEIR FOOT on the area to have the spot disappear instead of spraying it with disinfectant! Later on I also saw in the camera puddles of dog pee on the floor and wall in the room that have been left as the dogs ran in and around it! Complete health hazard! People go in to "play" with them, but it's more just sitting on the ground by them. The daycare room is in poor condition, with the floor falling apart, and there is no stimulation for the dogs. There also is NO WATER or water breaks for the dogs. As soon as I picked up my dog, she drank an entire bowl and more of water. Also, people were eating in the dog area and then feeding the dogs pieces of their food they broke up IN THEIR MOUTH. Right now, especially in COVID, that seriously needs to not happen! I dropped my pup off for a grooming and let her play a few hours before she was groomed, and I regret doing so. The grooming itself was good, but I also was unexpectedly charged additional grooming charges I was not aware of or asked for prior to paying. Pappy's pet lodge was very friendly, took my puppy in immediately when I called because Bentley had stayed at Poochville and I got him back full knits and poop in his fur. Horrendous service at South Plano, they are lucky they have contracted a good trainer. Were not honest with when the dog was going to be out, and the cameras are public to watch. Often times the dogs are left with no supervision, and they don't care how clean the place is. Dogs were put away much earlier than 7pm and not out again until after 8am and that is during the weekday. After the holiday, the dogs had been in their lodges for more than 16 hours and staff was in no rush to let all the dogs out. They let the dogs pee and poop inside the play areas and outside on concrete rather than just letting them out to the open space. No wonder our newly potty trained puppy has been having accidents since we picked her up. Our puppy also came home with tapeworm and they withheld from us until we asked. Manager, John, promised us a service while she was boarded for 14 days and when we came to pick her up, they held her away from us while she cried because they claimed we still owed money to them. Attached photos are just a few examples of the care the dogs are in, and the pee inside their spaces was due to the dogs being crates for more than 16 hours and no staff rushed to get it for 2 hours after coming in the morning. (Those are not my dogs, just public accessible camera options) EDIT: it is unfortunate that an "award winning" business cannot own up to the mistakes they have made with a first time customer. For further explanation, when we purchased the 10 day training package with Mazie's 14 day boarding, we were told by Jon that her time during boarding would include full day daycare, and we would pay upfront for the duration of her stay. After one week, we had hoped to get an update on Mazie, but decided to call to receive an update as no one had reached out. This is when we were informed by John of Mazies tapeworm. Asking when they noticed, he said right away, but did not call us because it is not harmful to the "kiddo" so it doesn't matter if we knew right away anyway. As for the schedule, The only reason I have guessed to this timeline of dogs being out is the schedule posted online and under the cameras, and we were never offered or even knew about the walks until we questioned why the dogs weren't out yet after Christmas. Nonetheless, the dogs were boarded over 13 hours, which would certainly lead to multiple accidents. The lack of ownership to their care of the dogs is disappointing, and the dirtiness of reusing towels dripping in pee to rub on the floors because they're worried about the rain is gross. When we toured, Jon would not allow us to see where any dogs were staying, and showed us the spaces during nap time, which makes it hard to determine how our dogs would actually be cared for. Then, in excitement to pick up our puppy, we were faced with additional charged that were never explained to us, and they even admitted there was some miscommunication. Grooming - 1 Star Customer Service - 2 Star I've been to this location 3 times. Last visit ended our relationship. I asked for a style of haircut, the groomer went against what I asked for and used her 35 years of experience to make her own decision on what she thought would look best with no communication to me while my dog was there for 11 hours. Be prepared for ANIMAL ABUSE. I took my dog here to try out for 2 days. So far, not so good. The first thing you will notice upon walking in, is the stench of dog urine everywhere. While I understand that dogs go when they go, this place doesn't really seem concerned about that. One person told me that dogs do not have a concept of whether they are "inside or outside." During the day, they claim that they have a set schedule. They do not adhere to the "schedule" and I don't believe my dog has gone potty outside even once during her visit. They don't have an area for dogs to use the restroom. That's a big red flag. (It will BREAK your potty training.) They can clean it up, sure, but tell me why my dog has a paw pad injury after her second day? The floors are all ripped up in certain spots. Additionally most of the staff seems extremely apathetic. The manager was the most pleasant person I spoke with. The attendees are constantly on their phones not interacting or watching the dogs. There are times that they won't be in the room with the dogs for several minutes at a time, and with the amount of dogs they cram into one space, anything could happen at any time. I was extremely concerned for the safety of my dog. I'd also like to know why the dogs have been swatted at, pushed away, kicked at, picked up inappropriately, and sprayed with a spray bottle? These dogs do not belong to the attendees, and should be treated the same as if the parents were in the room. This is not the appropriate way to handle multiple dogs. I have spoken with a few other daycare GMs who have openly told me that what these employees are doing is entirely unprofessional and dangerous, and they also saw it all on camera. The videos would surely make your jaw drop. I wish I could post them here. I do not know the names of the employees that are doing it, but one of them is a man with a mullet (photo attached), and the other is a taller man. For the safety of my dog, she will never return there again. For the safety of yours, I would recommend you do the same. To the owners that have no idea this is happening to their pets, I wish you knew. Check. The cameras. More. Often! I wish I could tell you directly. To management that seems (based on other reviews) neglectful or apathetic towards the ongoing situation, I cannot tell you what to do, but those employees should be terminated. DO NOT BOARD YOUR PET HERE! I boarded my four year old miniature schnauzer over Memorial Day weekend and when I went to bathe her after picking her up I found an open wound on her side. The vet could not confirm if it was a bite or a puncture wound, but it is horrendous! When I called to ask what happened to my dog, since this was not revealed to me when picking her up, the representative asked me to send pictures via email. I have sent pictures and have yet to hear a response. This IS NOT a safe place for your pet. I chose this groomer after reading that she had over 20 years of experience and it was close [walking distance] I submitted a picture of what I wanted as this was my puppy's first cut. Paid extra to get her back quickly as I was afraid she would be scared. The cut was terrible!!! But was told her hair was not right for the cut. I about cried. Asked why she just didn't tell me she couldn't do this. I would have just taken her home. She went in a 4 month doodle and came out looking like a 5 year old poodle. A not-so-impressive effort at Pappy's I'm afraid. Upon entering the office (if you can even call it that), the strong stench of piss combats the nostrils--sending me into a lightheaded frenzy. I'll give it to them on pricing: it's competitive to say the least. The facilities are a joke, unfortunately. When you look-in on the live camera feeds, it's transparent this Pappy's is a glorified apartment floor plan--sans the glorified. The setup is nothing compared to Pet Paradise. I don't know what we would do without Pappy's in Addison! Our pup LOVES all of the ladies that make it a doggy paradise. For the last 3 years she has gone to daycare at least once a week. We trust Pappy's enough to give them a key to our apartment for easy pick up/drop off. They have saved us on more than one occasion when traveling, and always tell us about what kind of mood she was in during the day (a little post-it telling us that she napped, went potty, or maybe that she didn't eat her lunch, really shows that they care). There are webcams for you to spy on your dog at play. They have a small, but varied selection of treats (bullies, chews, etc) and healthy dog food. Friendly staff, quick and affordable service to trim my pup's nails, but the stench of urine in the office is like no other pet salon, vet office, or boarding facility I've ever encountered. I grew up around livestock and am used to way animals smell. This is next level. No way would I have my dog bathed or boarded here and trust that she wouldn't come home covered in her own or other dog's urine based on that smell. If the owner/manager thinks that's just how it is for this kind of business - they're very very wrong. It's a huge red flag that the boarded pets are not being walked or let out to potty. We tried Pappy's for a few visits, but we decided to not go back. Water wasn't kept in the playroom so when we got home, our pup was drank half his water dish. On our last visit, we actually weren't sure our dog was given his food. After rest time, when it was time to play, they put our dog in a cage because he wanted to play and other dogs did not want to. Pappy's in Addison has been a saving grace for my pup, Ella. Due to my work, I have days (and sometimes weeks) through the year that I can not be home at an adequate time to let her out. I love this place! I use this Pappy's often for pet sitting when I travel. They go to my apartment to check on my cat as often as I need when I am out and always take such good care of her. Most often it is Hannah that comes out to check on her but I've had others that were just as amazing. And Hannah is amazing! She always texts me updates and pictures, and even noticed my cat had a red eye and checked on her the next day at no cost to me to make sure she was okay. They are wonderful with my dog and they make me feel comfortable leaving him with them. We love Pappy's Pet Lodge! We have been taking our dog there for over a year and adore the staff and facility. We always know our pup is in good hands when we bring her in for a day of daycare. The staff is very warm and friendly and welcomes us and her every morning kindly. Our dog is a rescue with a bit of a personality so they give her quiet time in the morning when she first arrives to ease into the day. I love pulling up the cameras on their site to see her having fun during the day. We have had her groomed there as well and are always happy with the results. There seems to be a ton of regulars that go to daycare as well, we see familiar puppy faces out and about in the Circle! I cannot speak highly enough about Pappy's! read more

The smell of urine is overwhelming-at both the Addison and SW Plano locations. I just don't understand how the staff or the human clients can stand it. Also-boarding prices are excessive if you want your fur baby to be able to partake in Doggy day care during his or her stay. Besides a daily Boarding Fee, you have to pay additional for either a full or half day for your pup to play with others. I lost my fave Doggy Daycare/Boarding facility just recently and decided to give Pappys a try...I was feeling guilty and I was in tears when I left my sweet girl with them for a few days of boarding and what I was hoping would be a fun time for her...that ended up costing me almost as much as I paid for a plane ticket to get away for a few days. I also had to forgo getting her bathed before I got her back-which is pretty disgusting-because of what this was costing me. They HAD to know I was a new client because I was required to provide my dog's medical history and fill out a form. It would have been "nice" if someone/anyone from either or both of the TWO facilities I interacted with had bothered to go over pricing with me read more
