I saw her on Monday and was able to get in for x-rays and initial images by Wednesday. Within 48 hours of having the initial work up done I ended up having an emergency root canal. Dr. Lucas failed to inform me that she could see that I had a problem with my front tooth -- you could clearly see it via a shadow in the x-rays. She said because I hadn't complained about the tooth she's didn't ask me about it - not bothering to ask about something visible is poor dental practice. Also, dentist also saw me in person like she had promised to ensure everything was good before the Invisalign trays were ordered. Under no circumstances did my dentist or endodontist advise continuing with Invisalign. Dr. Lucas clearly should have caught this issue but instead was quick to take my money. I was asked to pay $400 for x-rays and was told that I would be reimbursed any amount of money that the insurance paid out. After reaching out to the clinic on three occasions without any response, I can conclude that this office has double dipped, charging me and billing my dental insurance plan. There are so many choices of Invisalign providers and dentists. I would strongly recommend doing your research and possibly looking elsewhere before making an investment to get dental work done with this clinic.

It's crazy but I had that crown for about 12 years ! I panicked immediately thinking I chipped my natural teeth , but lo and behold it was the crown!! I was in a better state of mind at this point but I wanted to get it replaced ASAP! I was looking desperately for emergency care in the same day but I believe since it was already near noon all the other dentists were booked or closed for the day! I remembered that my lady had gotten her filling done here and she was very pleased so I called to see if they could do it. After some back and forth I They actually had an appointment for me 10am on 2/25/25!! I hadn't spoke to the doctor yet it was just the receptionist that booked my appointment! I got there at like 9:40 am and did all the paperwork and one of the doctors named John greeted me and escorted me to the operating room/ office . He was super polite and got everything set up and ready for the other doctor.. Doctor Wang! She explained that after her assessment I needed a new crown and it would be like my older porcelain ones it would be zirconia. (Zirconia crowns are a high-quality dental restoration option that offers excellent strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal. They are a metal-free choice for patients who want a long-lasting and natural-looking solution for damaged or decayed teeth. However, it is important to consider the potential costs and limitations before making a decision)- from google. Dr. Wang asked if I wanted it today....of course I said yes lol ! Who wants to really have a temporary cover for an unknown amount of time. Then she politely said it would be a few because we had to prepare the exposed tooth for the crown. You know the X-rays , needles grinding of the tooth, then filling . But it wasn't a bad experience at all! it was Dr. Wang and John all the way from start to finish! John & Dr. Wang The Dynamic Duo of the Dental industry!! It was like the perfect system as they did all the dental care then used their state of the art 3d printing computer/machines to scan my mouth and teeth, to construct my new crown that matches and fits perfectly! I was there for about 2.5 hours and got it all done and looks amazing ! I could not believe John and Dr. Wang got it done so easily and rapidly! Thank you guys for your accurate and speedy work! I will definitely be returning to Nova Dental for the flawless work you guys Dr. (Wang and John) have done!

Administrative Incompetence: I booked in December for a…read moreJanuary spot. They canceled last minute and pushed me back an entire month. Didn't offer anything sooner even though the reschedule was their fault. Then, after I picked a 9:00 AM slot provided by their own system and received multiple confirmations, a week before they called to tell me they aren't even open at that time. To make matters worse, they insinuated I picked a wrong time, rather than the fact that it was again, their scheduling error. Major Safety Violation: The scheduling is bad, but the clinical care is worse. During my last cleaning, they hadn't secured a metal component on a spray gun properly. It shot off into my mouth like a projectile. Luckily it hit hard inside my mouth. If it had gone down my throat the situation would have been life-threatening. It is clear this office has no regard for their patients' time or their physical safety. After months of being jerked around and a near-miss with a piece of metal, I'm done. Do yourself a favor and find a dentist who is actually organized and safe.

Maybe even 3rd. Before you even get to your appointment they're hooking you up with reminders so you don't accidentally double book yourself and have to choose between your dental health or an overpriced night out on the town. Speaking of town, if you live nowhere near Jersey City, but they take your insurance, you should still give yourself the privilege of being one of their patients. During your appointment they tell you the good, the bad,and the ugly in the nicest way possible and provide you with praise or education depending on your teeth and how many cavities you do or do not have. The place is high tech and you can tell they're using some military grade tech to get the job done. They even have televisions you can watch on the ceiling while you're getting the plaque scraped off of your lateral incisors. Netflix and Drill some would say. But I digress, onto the after your appointment : If you care about your teeth and being able to bite into a juicy well done vegan burger when you're in your 90s, this is the place to be.

TrueCare Dental recommended I have a full-mouth deep cleaning, 5-7 fillings, and invisalign after a different dentist from the one I made my appointment with came into the room. Staff did not let me know I would be seeing a different dentist than the one with whom I made an appointment, which is an ethical breach in and of itself. TrueCare Dental also tried using high-pressure sales tactics on me, including the scam artist dentist challenging me by saying demeaning stuff like, "Well, if you can't afford it..." Fortunately I am not easily pressured. Went to two different dentists after to get second and third opinions, both of whom said I don't need any part of my mouth deep-cleaned (let alone a full mouth deep cleaning) and I do not need invisalign. I also only need one filling, not the six or seven TrueCare Dental insisted I needed. TrueCare Dental is a scam shop. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent experience at this dental clinic--now owned & run by the private corporation "The…read moreSmilist," which clinic is located in the TollBrothers' Shipyard complex in Hoboken, where 12th street runs down to the Hoboken waterfront. First, let me start out by saying that my family (back in Seattle) has a bunch of dentists, doctors, and dental hygienists in it...and I've been in and out of dental chairs as dentistry has evolved and become more high tech. I am probably one of the older patients--an attorney who MUST have nice-looking teeth to work. (Nobody wants their attorney to have crooked or rotten-looking teeth--right?) So, a lower veneer popped off when I was flossing. This Smilist Clinic was able to fit me in the very next morning and the dentist--Dr. Jim and her assistant--took a big chunk of their lunch hour to address my needs. I was especially impressed with Dr. Jin for a bunch of reasons: (1) seems very committe to EXCELLENCE in her profession; (2) takes time to clearly explain to the patient (me) what's going on...and why she is making a particular recommendation; (3) totally agreed with me about some aesthetic points...and explained why she agreed. (She wasn't agreeing with me to please me...but to tell me why a particular treatment plan (which has multiple phases since I need implants in the back) was wise and sound. She was GREAT....and honestly I am super picky when it comes to dentists and doctors. I am not that easily and positively impressed. Front desk people were accommodating, friendly, excellent communicators. Most professionals would LOVE to have such smart, and gracious, and tri-lingual folks like Wallid and Stephanie at the front desk of their office. I live very close to this dental clinic in Hoboken--so I don't have to worry about driving their and finding parking. If you are coming from outside of Hoboken, you may have to park in a garage...but I can tell you (as a tax attorney) that kind of expense can usually be deducted as part of your medical expenses... Call for info on parking. But in terms of QUALITY of CARE--I'll let you know...but my impression since Smilist bought the longtime dentist's family practice, Dr. Jin is AAA+++ The Smilist corporation and her patients are lucky to have her... All the assistants were great too... Especially that one who is born and raised in Hoboken....Daniella?? Highly recommend this clinic...

When asked why it wasn't updated on Zocdoc, she claimed they couldn't cancel there because it required too many questions--an excuse to avoid responsibility. We were never properly notified. Stephanie mentioned a voicemail asking us to call back depending on our issue, but she never followed up or said the appointment was cancelled. This is despite us sending them emails and communicating on Zocdoc with required documentation, providing ample channels for communication. We arranged childcare for our infant to attend. Despite the effort we made, Stephanie was unapologetic and dismissive, offering no help or acknowledgment of the disruption. We were never seen by the doctor, so this review does not reflect on him. But if a clinic refuses to communicate through the platform they use and shows no courtesy to patients, they should not be on Zocdoc. Avoid this practice.

A month later, having received no communication - I followed up and 'Janet' showed up. Dr Ali and her dental assistant team her team were excellent, thorough and professional in their interactions. At the beginning of the first meeting it was explained that Invisalign wasn't covered by insurance, which included a whitening treatment as part of the procedure. Oddly, no cleaning nor annual examination were offered during the 18 month treatment. It wasn't until that final appointment and after cleaning, X-rays etc., was I told the whitening wasn't part of the plan I'd paid in advance for. Be aware that while quality of care is good, the office management and billing team are uncommunicative, illusive, inconsistent and we caught them attempting to push claims through our insurance company (according to our insurance) despite telling us they don't take that insurance and asked us to pay in full up front. On multiple occasions appointments were moved or adjusted by the office, all of which were during regular working hours for most people... I've personally no issue with that as a freelancer and understanding clients but it might be inconvenient for others.
