Picture this: Apollo fish, priced at 9.99. After waiting for ten minutes looking forward to see a plateful of fish pieces, you are presented with a plate with six quarter-sized fish pieces! For 10$!!! No, they are not serving Tuna or sea-bass. I am sure they are either Tilapia or Catfish. Again, for 10$!!! This basically summed up our experience. Minuscule portions, The restaurant itself was tiny giving a feeling of confined to small box type which doesnt offer you any paceful space and you will sure be bumped once or twice by your neighbors while they walk past you. Same experience for Chicken Biryani too. We were there on Thursday around 8:00PM. The biryani was already looking dull and stale. Did I mention, quantity wise it is small again?!?! For 10.99 I expected more quantity. They served half egg with each of two biryanis that we ordered. And, in ONE single tiny bowl, Mirch Ka Salan and ANOTHER SINGLE TINY bown ,Raita for the TWO biryanis we ordered. As a hyderabadi, it is blasphemous to skimp on your Mirch Ka Salan when you eat your Biryani. We also ordered Street noddles. I would like to save my words. (hint: small portion). None of the hyderabadi delicacies, that Paradise is known for: bheja fry or liver fry or kheema masala are on the menu. It is plain simple. No variety. All in all, this restaurant is not my cup of tea. The food that I pay for, I want it to be VFM. If you are not my type, be their guest. My last visit! This place is a rip off. Interior is clean and bright but there are too many wait staff who are just standing there. We ordered the Paradise Fish Fry, $9.99 for 4 pieces of small fried fish fillet (although it's flavorful), Butter Chicken $9.99 (just a bowl of sauce with a few chicken slices) we have to order a separate side dishes of rice at $2.99 per bowl and garlic naan which is also $2.99, and a bowl of vegetable biryani at $9.99. I also had their Mango lassi at $2.50 in a small glass. All of the dishes we tried are good but you can get the same flavor or better somewhere else for less. And their water is not even cold, it's water straight from the tap. Other Indian restaurants we tried even had cold lemon water for less. And yes their Basmati rice is broken. Sahara market down the road is muuuuuch better although it's not Indian cuisine. read more

One of the best food i get in bay area is from this place, i like the indian spices and buttery greasy food, this restaurant makes it perfect. Try the chicken Karachi with some butter naan. Could barely understand the guy on the phone and had to ask several times for him to slow down so I could understand him. At the end he hurredly told me the toral and almost hung up before I could rush in a question about when it would be ready. When I picked it up, had to ask for plastic silverware and napkins - that should be standard! The street noodles were oily, lacked flavor. The chicken was small pieces and tasted like all dark meat. So the quantity of biryani in one to go is good for 2 ppl. The reason is you can't eat a full meal of red chili powder. The quality has gone down the drain these days. This is the closest in taste to the Biryani you get in Andhra, India. We order only the vegetarian and egg dishes. All the vegetarian appetizers are tasty and the paneer is always fresh. Love the place. Both the veg and egg biryani are good. Please mention spicy to make it more flavorful otherwise it can be pretty bland. I like that the Biriyanis and curries are not spicy. Great food. I would give it 4 stars. Slow kitchen service attributes to a deduction of a full star. On a few occasions, we waited longer than 30 mins after order. We always try Indian restaurants on the weekends, and I have to say that PBP disappointed us. Dishes are almost the same price as Chaat Bhawan, but the serving size is almost half. The taste is nothing to write home about either. And while they are not all that busy, we still had to wait 15 minutes for our Naan to arrive. And to top it all, they forgot to serve our mango Lassi and then charged me twice for it, for reminding them 2 times (of course, I got the check corrected). Good thing we decided to skip the dessert, although the names were pretty tempting. I also do not like the fact that they were situated almost road side. Needless to say, we are not going back. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is that the 'mirchi salan' that I ordered tasted good, and is not that readily available at other places. read more

While the Biryani is OK, the Naan (indian bread) were extremely burnt and stale. Such a huge disappointment bad they charge 3$ for that burnt crap. :( waste of time and money. Panneer curry is not at all par with the Panneer tikka consistency. All in all a total flop :( read more
