The prices were reasonable and food was ok, but unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. It was just me and my son dining there. We placed our order and waited patiently. While we were waiting, four different families who appeared to be the same race as the owner were served before us, even though they arrived after we did. At first I didn't think much of it. Then another family of five, who also appeared to be the same race as the owner, came in about 10-15 minutes after us and received their food well before we did. I don't know why our order kept getting pushed behind everyone else's, and I can't say that race was the reason. I can only describe what I personally observed. Being passed over while multiple parties who arrived later were served first made us feel overlooked and unwelcome. We waiting about 30 mins for one plate of food that my son and I shared. I've been to this location a few times in recent months, and I think they are decent Mediterranean food, so long as you order the right dish. I really like their Chicken Adana plate, which comes with a pretty massive serving of kebab, sides of grilled veggies, salad, rice, and hummus (I like to sub baba ghanoush). It's a great meal for ~$20 after tax, and I think overall good value. The meat is fresh, juicy, well-seasoned, and always served at just the right temperature. I have also tried their shawarma salad, which I don't like as much. I find their shawarma meat to be pretty bland and not all that tasty, especially the lamb. After ordering you're given a number to place on your table. The ice water is self-serve. Everything was clean and well-organized, from the large main dining room to the outdoor seating area. They do have large long tables for big parties but those need to be reserved. You can't go wrong with any item here. My usual is their chicken shish (kebab) plate or chicken shawarma plate with all rice, no salad. There is a $2 up charge for the no salad option though. The chicken is so flavorful and moist as is their rice. It's the best! While I'm giving five stars because the quality is there, my one piece of feedback would be regarding the service. The worst experience. We came to Dublin to take the kids to the WAVE and afterwards to the Pleasanton location to eat with a big group of kids. We waited for a long time and we ordered 4 burgers and had seperate receipts, but the manager assumed we only purchased 3 burgers, and I kept showing my receipt and telling him you missed one. I thought they were going to bring it and I got up 3 times to ask for it. Our whole group was finished with their food, and my son was crying because not only was he hungry after hours of swimming, but everyone ate their food except him. There were flies everywhere including on all of their desserts. Very unsanitary. I understand it was super busy, but that does not give the manager the right to be rude and refuse to give my son a burger when I paid for it! After requesting a refund, all of a sudden they hand me a tray of the burger in front of the register and pushing it like I am some type of dog. This type of arrogance is uncalled for. They really should look at their recent reviews and take them into high consideration and need for improvement because the cashier - the first person you see upon walking in - should not look grim - and the food - specifically what they're known for - the meat, should not be overcooked and dry. Multiple times in the past few months we have ordered the chicken Adana plate and the kabab has literally been highly charred and dry to a point where you have to use your fork (bc that's another thing they don't have at the tables - knives) to cut into the meat. However the price keeps creeping up. I don't mind the price going up if the quality also stays high. Well that was the last chance I'm willing to give to this business. We finally made it in to Sultan's Kebab in Pleasanton, after my friend who is from Afghanistan had raved about this restaurant and highly recommended I try their food. They have such an abundance of menu items that it's impossible to not be tempted to return to try their other menu gems! The lamb, chicken, and kofte kebab dishes with salad and rice were absolutely filling and full of flavor. Their light salad dressing is what would make me want to eat my vegetables again and again, if this salad dressing were accessible to me at any time! They are generous with their pita bread and hummus portions, so much so that we enjoyed these as leftovers the next day. We admired the decadent and colorful desserts from their display of options, but were so full from our delicious dinner feast, that we did not purchase any dessert, so we hope to try their desserts next time. Their restaurant is clean, the tables and seats inside and outside are abundant, and the vibe was so full of life when we dined there, plus, the service was excellent. The diversity all around us and the number of customers we saw both dining in and ordering and picking up takeout speak volumes of their food and restaurant.
