Lamb Shawarma rice bowl, missing the avocado, too much rice, mostly not eaten at the end. Lamb Shawarma plate Shawarma dry and crispy, again overload of rice. Lamb kebab plate, one family swore had a chicken skewer in it. The lamb skewer was yum! The lamb shank stole the show. Definitely the highlight of the evening. Again, rice. The rice overload needs to be addressed by Sultan's. It would be much nicer if you could order meat skewer sides and add carbs IF wanted. With a 5 dinner order, the hummus that arrived on the plates were too small to share. Think 5 pita half's and 2 sauce container hummus. Doesn't translate. The onions could be pickled. So your goodbyes don't annihilate your friends upon departure from dinner. Floor Staff are amazing as always! Ambiance is nice and warm. We tried Sultan again today and sadly as a long time customer we were disappointed that the quality of the lamb shawarma has gone down, it's gristly and not as good as before. However the price keeps creeping up. I don't mind the price going up if the quality also stays high. Well that was the last chance I'm willing to give to this business. It's frustrating to see a business care more about the look of the place and the presentation of the food rather than keeping the quality of the food high. What could improve? The food is decent. I don't understand the long queues, probably not worth visiting during busy hours so try to come when there's no line cos they do die eventually. As others have mentioned, management could do a lot better with cleanliness. Also try not to get too loud as the staff will ask you to quiet down, so probably not a good place for reunions, more of a quick casual quiet dining experience. read more

I've been to this location a few times in recent months, and I think they are decent Mediterranean food, so long as you order the right dish. I really like their Chicken Adana plate, which comes with a pretty massive serving of kebab, sides of grilled veggies, salad, rice, and hummus (I like to sub baba ghanoush). It's a great meal for ~$20 after tax, and I think overall good value. The meat is fresh, juicy, well-seasoned, and always served at just the right temperature. I have also tried their shawarma salad, which I don't like as much. I find their shawarma meat to be pretty bland and not all that tasty, especially the lamb. I always make it a point to stop by either this location or the Danville location whenever I'm up in this area. Both are very consistent with the quality of their food. After ordering you're given a number to place on your table. The ice water is self-serve. Everything was clean and well-organized, from the large main dining room to the outdoor seating area. They do have large long tables for big parties but those need to be reserved. You can't go wrong with any item here. My usual is their chicken shish (kebab) plate or chicken shawarma plate with all rice, no salad. There is a $2 up charge for the no salad option though. The chicken is so flavorful and moist as is their rice. It's the best! While I'm giving five stars because the quality is there, my one piece of feedback would be regarding the service. Wow! This place is SO good!! I would be here every day if I lived in the area. I'm visiting from Oakland and was looking for a healthy, well priced spot after work and I was so lucky to find this place. Lots of options on the menu for all dietary preferences. Great portion size and real food at a good price. I was able to get a soup to add to my kabobs, which were grilled and seasoned deliciously. It was my first time trying Mediterranean food, believe it or not, and I loved it so much. I got the #1 on the menu--Lamb shish kebab-- and it was delicious. While visiting the Bay Area I heard nothing but rave reviews about this place. I knew I had to give it a shot. We ordered the chicken shish kabob, chicken shawarma, and kofta plate. All items were recommended by the cashier. Everything was good. Not extraordinary and not terrible.... Just good. Of all three the kofta plate was the most flavorful. The chicken shawarma was my least favorite, as it tasted nothing like authentic shawarma. Each plate was roughly $20 which was reasonable considering the amount of meat per plate. The place is casual and self serve style, you order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. There is plenty of parking out front and in the back of the restaurant. They really should look at their recent reviews and take them into high consideration and need for improvement because the cashier - the first person you see upon walking in - should not look grim - and the food - specifically what they're known for - the meat, should not be overcooked and dry. Multiple times in the past few months we have ordered the chicken Adana plate and the kabab has literally been highly charred and dry to a point where you have to use your fork (bc that's another thing they don't have at the tables - knives) to cut into the meat. We finally made it in to Sultan's Kebab in Pleasanton, after my friend who is from Afghanistan had raved about this restaurant and highly recommended I try their food. They have such an abundance of menu items that it's impossible to not be tempted to return to try their other menu gems! The lamb, chicken, and kofte kebab dishes with salad and rice were absolutely filling and full of flavor. Their light salad dressing is what would make me want to eat my vegetables again and again, if this salad dressing were accessible to me at any time! They are generous with their pita bread and hummus portions, so much so that we enjoyed these as leftovers the next day. We admired the decadent and colorful desserts from their display of options, but were so full from our delicious dinner feast, that we did not purchase any dessert, so we hope to try their desserts next time. Their restaurant is clean, the tables and seats inside and outside are abundant, and the vibe was so full of life when we dined there, plus, the service was excellent. The diversity all around us and the number of customers we saw both dining in and ordering and picking up takeout speak volumes of their food and restaurant. We got garlic fries and beet pickles to start, followed by the combo chicken & lamb shawarma plate and the combo chicken & lamb shish kebab plate. Both came with salad, rice, hummus, and warm pita. The meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned with great flavor. I'm especially a fan of their house-made spicy sauce and the yogurt based one(I think?) - they pair really well with everything on the plate. When we got there, there were plenty of tables open both inside and outside, which was nice. But by the time we left, it filled up quite a bit. We stopped by after 9pm on a Saturday night after finishing a late soccer game nearby. We were pleasantly surprised to find a spacious, uniquely decorated and fairly popular shwarma joint amidst an outdoor mall. As we walked up, the size of the establishment was spacious for a casual Middle Eastern restaurant, with outdoor seating bordering the entire perimeter of the corner site. The outside had comfortable booths. The inside had a welcoming and spacious entry with enticing desserts on display and an impressive digital menu. The inside also had whimsical red themed booths with fairy lighting and umbrellas hanging from the ceiling - nice touch! All of our dishes were delicious and seemed so very fresh compared to other fast/quick kebab places in the Tri-Valley. We had a variety of items and they were all noticeably freshly made and delicious: Falafels Combo Kebab, lamb and chicken, with salad Combo Shawarma Salad with lamb and chicken Lamb Shawarma Salad Salmon Kebab Plate The Lamb Shawarma and Salmon Kebabs were the stand-outs but all the dishes were deliciously fresh.
