    Set Dosa Combo
    Daniel F.

Ordered the fish 65, Dosa with chicken curry, and the parotta with mutton curry. The fish 65 was average, I think the chicken 65 would've been better, the fish inside wasn't as soft as I prefer with fried fish. The dosa was pretty good, but the parotta was the star of the show. Was very flaky, crispy, yet soft, and paired really with the mutton curry. A small issue is that the wait was quite long, the other tables next to us seemed agitated for the same reason, but since the shop seems newer, that will likely be solved with time.

What's left of my chili chicken, chappati, and rice could easily feed two people.

First visit here. I was a little stand offish because I couldn't see anyone else in the restaurant. That being said I throughly enjoyed my meal. I liked that they didn't serve naan because they didn't have the clay over to make it. Authenticity is amazing. The menu was a lot to try and comprehend being Mexican and all but the chappati was great, the chili chicken was amazing!!! The veg was actually sautéed for the dish and not over or under cooked, and of course the plain basmati rice was white. Overall like a good glass of wine the insides spoke for itself and doesn't need a glamorous label. Very good!

Quick and efficient service, the food was amazing: Parotta was perfectly crispy and tasty, and the curry had good amount of mutton pieces and strong flavor

This was my first time. I would give it 3 and half. The food was good. The porotta chicken curry was pretty good. The masala dosa was standard. The service was fast. They serve in plastic cup and paper plates. The ambiance was not that great. Could have been better. It miss the polishness however the food was good.

Food and service were great! Great value for money! The ambience was a little hot for the sunny day but the food was great and made up for it. We had the egg dosa. It was really nice!

Chicken Biryani, with two bone-in chicken thighs under all that rice (4 stars)

Review is for Doordash lunch: Annachi Kadai is my second time venturing into Southern Indian this year. They seem to be famous for their Parottas (a type of flatbread) and Mutton Biryanis. I do agree that the Parottas are 5-star worthy, and a fine alternative to the usual naan. Parottas are crispy, flaky, and chewy flatbread similar in texture to the Scallion pancakes from Chinese cuisine. Its definitely less oily, but still buttery. Enjoy in moderation! The more I try the South Indian-style biryanis, the more I like the Seeraga Samba rice over basmati. The short-grain brown rice just seems more moist and easier to chew. The biryani was flavored well - spicy but not overwhelmingly. Two small bone-in chicken thighs with juicy meat round out this dish. Great flavors, though I wish there was more chicken. 4 stars.

I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a few months, so when I noticed it was right next door to the UPS store when I was dropping off a parcel this evening, I jumped at the chance to try it, especially as it was Friday evening when we usually take a break from cooking. They serve cuisine from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu - which I'm not too familiar with, so I asked the proprietor for suggestions. We settled on fried fish, parathas, "dry" mutton, "dry" country chicken, and chicken curry. The food took about 25 minutes to prepare, and the service was friendly. Here's the verdict on each dish, in order of enjoyment: -- Parottas ($1.99 each): these were superb. Flaky, filling, enjoyed by all. -- Mutton Pirattal ($11.99): boneless chunks of perfectly cooked goat, only a slight amount of gravy, spiced just right. My favorite. The missus and kids found it OK. Smaller portion size than the two chicken dishes. -- Tawa fried fish ($9.99): I enjoyed this, the wife tolerated it, the kids didn't touch it. -- Curry Chicken Kulambu ($10.99): not too spicy, but the chicken was quite bony; wife found it too greasy. -- Nattu Kozhi Dry country chicken ($10.99): overpoweringly spicy, more grease than even I could handle. Will be back for the parottas and mutton Pirattal.

This review will reveal my complete ignorance about southern Indian food. But hey, I can't know everything and am happy to have the chance to expand my experience just a little bit. This place opened my eyes (more like taste buds) to a new (to me) kind of Indian food. I went in the restaurant, looked at the menu, and was greeted by completely foreign sounding food item names! I learned that they are southern Indian food. Trusting the recommendation of the server, I just ordered lamb curry and bread. Looking at the bill, I ordered "Mutton Pirattal Kulambu, and Parotta" I like the mutton but absolutely love the Parotta. I love naan, but this stuff is different and completely out of this world! I would come back just to get more of this bread called Parotta. I just found a new love!

My go to go place for oor style kothu parotta. Good place to try South Indian non-veg items without any doubt.

For those who aren't familiar, the best way I can describe it is a savory doughnut without any frosting or toppings (taste a lot like potato/french fries to me, but staff told me it was made with flour not potatoes). It was the perfect thing to dip in the sauces I had leftover from my dosa. The staff here are also incredibly friendly and I enjoy coming here to catch up with them. The food was good overall, with a solid variety: chicken, mutton, and fish curries, biryani, several vegetarian dishes, mango lassi, sweets, curd rice, puri, vada, noodles, and hot tea. My personal favorites were the carrot halwa, mango lassi, and biryani. The only downside was how they handled the naan. Instead of having it at the buffet, they serve it directly to the table. With the rush, it was really hard to get any, we waited almost 20 minutes for our first (and only) basket. It would be much better if naan were available at the buffet or if they circulated it more frequently. On the plus side, they were quick about clearing plates. Prices are reasonable: $24.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids, with kids under five eating free.
