Opted for melted provolone which was generous & made the sandwich. Bacon Cheeseburger pizza was cheesy with cheddar & mozza (love this place doesn't skimp on cheese), crumbled bacon & hamburger delivered that nice salty meat flavor. Crust is not heavy/doughy, but not so thin & light you feel like you ate a pita instead of pizza. They strike the right balance. Only complaint, they need better fries. Dry, dull, cold. We went for St patty's day to meet friends who lives locally. The bartender was the only bartender and server for the whole front end of the restaurant. he was terrible. i didn't get his name but he wore all eagles gear. I'm a women and he called me "bud" and called my girlfriend "bro" and when i asked what flavored vodkas he had he replied with "okay?" and stared at me. One Star is Too Generous - This Place is a Joke We used to love this place. Used to. We were regulars at Paradise by the Slice--coming in once or twice a week. Over time, the quality slipped, but tonight was the final nail in the coffin. It was hands-down the worst dining experience we've ever had. From the second we walked in, the server--who apparently is also the manager--was unbelievably rude. Not just indifferent or inattentive, but straight-up hostile. He acted like we were bothering him just by sitting down. No greeting, no courtesy, just attitude. My wife ordered a simple slice of pizza. First, it was forgotten. Second, it came out wrong. Third time, we canceled it out of frustration. The "manager's" response? A smug, sarcastic "Perfect." No apology. No attempt to make it right. Just more attitude. This guy should not be in charge of a business. And then it gets worse: when I paid the bill, he walked off with my credit card and never brought it back. When I asked about it, he just stared at me and said, "Are you OK?" No, I'm not OK. You gave me terrible service and failed to return my card. How is that even acceptable? As if the service wasn't bad enough, the food has gone completely downhill too. The fries were half-cooked and borderline raw. We used to come here for good pizza and a chill vibe--now it feels like nobody in the kitchen or the front of house gives a single damn. We've given this place chance after chance hoping it would turn around. It hasn't. It's only gotten worse. Tonight was the last straw. We went for the first time in 6 months as several establishments close to us were out of power due to the storm. The server we had seemed to be disgruntled got our order wrong did not bring clean glasses for our beers and added a 20% gratuity to our check. We used to frequent this establishment due to the A+ service and can guarantee we will not be back due to this experience. It is not acceptable to treat customers that way in any way shape or form. We were There last night.... last time here probably a year. I don't eat meat and try to stay away from breaded foods...so, pizza was my go to here, which is always, always awesome. This time I tried their shrimp salad...even though the shrimp was breaded-they were delicious....leafy greens were plentiful, corn, beans, onions, other vegetables, tomatoes, crispy noodles and lots of shredded cheese. They screwed up my wing order, and when I politely told them about it, the disgruntled worker rolled his eyes and goes "Are you serious!? The fryer is already closed." This place was fantastic! We ordered to go pizza and picked it up at the little back door stand. The guys were very knowledgeable and delivered a perfectly cooked pizza right when they said they would, even with a full parking lot and deliveries being sent out during rush hour. The crust was seasoned well, a light but crunchy textured, not this rolled up dough mountain that seems to pass for pizza these days. Paradise lost. Ok, so the following couple things are going to sound like negatives, but they really aren't. They had no bearing on the rating one bit - I just wanted to point them out. First, the website. Please pay it a visit (http://www.paradisebytheslice.com/). Like, what is that? It's like if your dad just discovered clip art and started randomly inserting pictures into a Word document. You know, because he's retired and has nothing better to do. Each time he successfully places one, he yells to his wife, "Hey honey, look at this. Look what I just did." She'd begrudgingly walks over, gives the screen a quick, obligatory glance, and responds, "Oh, that's wonderful, dear." She turns and heads back to the kitchen table, where she's been working on her daily crosswords. Under her breath, she mutters, "So, this is what my life has become. This is 70." Next, it's a dive. Again, not a bad thing. And although the name of the establishment might scream "quaint pizzeria", don't be fooled. It's dark, it's dank, it's frequented by drunken, old locals. Don't worry - they don't mind being called that. In fact, to them, it's a term of endearment. Service is on the slow side. Worse, if you go on a night where the bartenders are besties with each other, they'll spend most of the night goofing around and ignoring customers. Pizza here isn't a disaster, but if you call yourself "Paradise by the Slice," it'd better be good. The crust is too thin and thus gets soggy. Cheese and sauce are spread in the most uneven way imaginable. Toppings are scarce. Local pizzerias are definitely my preferred choice over chains, but this place makes me long for Domino's. And I hate Domino's. I wouldn't come here unless my friends didn't beg me to come out for trivia night. But even that's a joke. The use the "Buzztime" platform, rather than have an actual trivia "DJ" call out the questions. Everyone uses a little electronic device to input the answers to questions that appear on one of the TVs at the bar. For some reason, though, everyone is on one, collective team? For example, the first person in the bar who knows the question will shout out the answer. Then everyone at the bar can get it right. To me, that totally defeats the purpose of competing with friends and makes a farce of the entire concept. Does everyone really need to win? I guess the only really entertaining part of the night is when someone yells out the wrong answer and the whole bar gets screwed. That leads to some, um, colorful insults hurled in the direction of the guilty party. Long story short, if the highlight of the night at a bar is someone getting a trivia question wrong one day of the week, then that place doesn't have a lot to offer to begin with. read more

I have reviewed "The Slice" a few times in the past and I always had favorable things to say. We have been going here since '07 when Robert made the pizzas where the bar is now. We have continued to patronize the restaurant after the change in ownership and through all of the behind-the-scenes events. We still stop in at least once a week, although we have noticed that the service is not like it used to be. Last week we noticed that our white pizza was super thin, too thin! This week we noticed that it was smaller than it normally is. The deal breaker was the wings. Paradise had always been a beer Mecca, but it was also a bastion of great wings. This weekend, for $13.99, we received what I refer to as "mouse wings". They should have been embarrassed to serve those tiny little wings at that price - some of them looked like they had been scalped, the bone was sticking out on the drums! I asked about this and was told that they can not control what their suppliers provide them!! Really? Change suppliers, serve a few more in the order to make up for it. That was unacceptable to me and we are now looking for a new place to go. read more

Went during the NFL playoffs to watch my team (GB). The game was on no channels at the start of the game and one TV was switched over mid way through the second quarter. One other TV was changed over after another patron requested it be put on. All other Televisions were showing a replay of a regular season game(NFL Network) and a repeat of a Phillies game... And today my friend and I go to paradise and of course get wings. There's no one here. We sit in the bar area. That's fine. I'm like okay I'm gonna get in and out there no one here. Bar tenders messing around in the back watching me sit at my table. my wings come out 45 minutes later cold. I said something because I'm not eating cold food. Then they go back reheat my food put more sauce on it and then give it to me with the same ranch and the same celery on the plate. I've never had an experience like this here EVER. Don't trust their online takeout ordering system, or you will go hungry! Try to call and follow up on orders and you will be lucky if they answer the phone. Also, I have dined in and the food is pretty mediocre. The chicken Caesar salad is pretty awful. The waitress ignored my daughter and I, while taking orders from patrons who arrived later. I thought I needed to show this place a little love since there are some haters in the building. I've been to this Paradise a couple times now and have had a great time on both occasions. I have tried several different menu items from Paradise and the pizza is above average for the area and the wings are pretty good and they offer 25 different sauces. The cheesesteak and meatball sub were sub par though. The main reason I have been here both times though is because of their recently expanded craft selection. They have roughly 20 craft beers on tap and offer $5 flights (four 5oz samples of different beers). They also have two takeout craft beer fridges with both 6 packs and larger single bottles. They don't have anything super rare on draft but I was able to enjoy an Ithica Flower Power which you don't see around here too much. I also love the atmosphere in this place. It has a very beachy feeling with surfboards on the walls and pictures of 'tropical places hung around the place. Overall: Food: 3 stars Beer Selection: 4 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars read more
