We moved into a home that has a fountain that has had many problems, the biggest being that it had cracked in a few places and was leaking horribly. Paradise was recommended on the website Next Door, so I gave them a call and they came out this past Monday to start the job. They told me it would be a 3 day process and why it took 3 days but I had to wait for a month for an appointment, they were that busy. To me, that was a good sign actually! Tory, Adam & Bob did the work and they did an amazing job. They were professional, meticulous and the repair went beautifully. They even hosed down my entire patio when they were done and put everything back in it's place! Who does that? I had previously used Paradise Fountains and Pool Service and always had a positive experience, which is why this situation was so disappointing. The company had recently cleaned my fountain, and shortly afterward one of the light fixtures, which was still working, came loose and popped out. My only request was to have the light secured back into place. After their visit, I came home to find the light fixture had been completely removed. I was told the repair was more extensive than originally expected and that I would receive an estimate for the additional work. When the estimate arrived, I had only one question regarding the cost of the replacement light fixture. My builder, who originally installed the fountain, believed the quoted price for the fixture was significantly higher than expected, so I simply asked for clarification on that one item. I emailed my question but never received a response. The company later stated they had replied to my email; however, I never received that response. Because I had not received a reply, I assumed the work was still scheduled and that my question could be discussed when they arrived. Given our positive working relationship in the past, I also believed we could simply discuss the question at the job site. When no one showed up, I contacted the owner to ask what time they would be arriving. I was then told they were no longer coming because they were waiting for clarification regarding the estimate. I explained that I had never received their email. Rather than acknowledging that there may have been an email communication issue, the conversation quickly became confrontational. When I again asked about the cost of the light fixture, the owner told me I didn't know what I was talking about. He also dismissed my builder's opinion, stating that because my builder "doesn't do this for a living," he didn't know what he was talking about either. The owner then spoke to me in a disrespectful manner and hung up on me twice while I was trying to have a civil conversation. At no point was I rude or argumentative--I was simply asking for clarification about one item on the estimate. This review is not about the repair itself. It is about customer service, communication, and professionalism. Customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about an estimate without being treated with hostility or disrespect. A simple conversation could have resolved the entire situation. I had been a customer before and never experienced anything like this, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, because of the way I was treated, they have lost my business. More than anything, I believe I deserved a sincere apology from the owner for the way I was treated. Instead, my reasonable question was met with confrontation and disrespect. I hope sharing my experience helps other potential customers understand the importance of clear communication, professionalism, and respectful customer service when choosing a company. read more

I called Paradise Fountains to repair my fountain, as it had been poorly designed and badly needed a rehab. It took a week to get a technician scheduled to come and give an estimate, which I was told I had to meet the technician rather than just leave the gate open for them to access the fountain, so I took time to meet the guy, who seemed nice enough and he gave me a quote to change out the grate and replace the pump. I agreed and he said the office would call to get the work scheduled. The gal at the office called a couple days later to let me know the tech misquoted me and that the repairs would actually be more, but since I had already waited a couple weeks to get it repaired I agreed because I wanted my fountain back. The day cane for them to do the repairs and rather than meet them there, I just let them into the property remotely and they told me I had to be there so I could pay them and I asked if I could just give them my credit card over the phone and he had the office gal send a QB invoice which I paid online. He them calls me up and explains that the basin is blown from roots and needs to be replaced. Of course he doesn't have a basin so it will have to be done another day. I'm ok with this as stuff happens but then I look at the invoice and see they charged me a flat $150 fee for a two person install (seems legit as the fountain is heavy) and I told them I didn't think I should be charged that again on a return trip as their not having the proper supplies was on them, and the office gal said they wouldn't charge me again for a 2 person crew. Fine, just get me scheduled. I waited a week and heard nothing. I called the gal again at the office to find out when the work would be scheduled. She said she would talk to the tech and get back to me. That was 5 days ago and nothing. So I'm out nearly $400 and my fountain is no closer to being fixed than before I actually contacted these guys and they seem like they're happy to just leave the job undone. If you do decide to use these people, I would just make sure they finish the job before you pay them and I honestly don't believe that they'll stand behind their work given my expert with them. Update: in response to what the owner wrote, I never was rude on the phone to his office assistant or anyone else. I was direct, but not rude. And it's clear to me that they had no intent of finishing the job. The basin had been blown out by the cinder blocks holding the planter up but the replacement basin comes with a round plastic center support to avoid this problem. My old basin managed to last about 5-6 years and if this one does, I'll be OK with that. I contacted a company I thought were experts at this to avoid having to figure out the problem, but it turns out I got a $385 lesson in buyer-beware. It took me about 15 minutes on Amazon to find a basin system for $223 that had a built-in screening system that allows access to the basin without the need for the $275 grid that Tory says is such a bargain that he gave me (pictured -see what a bargain) and my landscaping guy managed to install and get running for less than I paid Paradise Fountains to put a plastic grid in the ground. Do yourself a favor and if you're doing this kind of fountain or repairing one, just buy the stuff on Amazon and get a competent and honest landscaper to install it. BTW Tory I know you gave me such a "great deal" on that grid and I don't want to take advantage of your "generosity" so I think I should return the grid to you. It's pretty much unused because, you know, the fountain never got fixed by you guys. read more

Our fountain quit running, and we suspected a burned out pump. Called Paradise after researching lots of companies in the area. I called one other highly-rated company first, but they refused to come look at the job based on a photo of the fountain that I sent! Paradise was a pleasure to deal with. Courtney scheduled Bob to come take a look, and also scheduled another day for the work. Bob arrived on time (even 10 min early!) and was very thorough in inspecting the problem, explaining the work needed, and providing a detailed quote. Came back with a helper (sorry, didn't catch his name) and they completed the job in less than an hour and for $55 less than the quote! Very polite and left everything so clean. If you get someone to respond to your phone calls or emails, buy a lottery ticket. They came to do an estimate for a waterfall repair on September 1st. Since then, there has been no communication even though I have left phone messages and sent emails. What a way to run a business. I'm thrilled with the work Paradise Fountains did at my house. Their quote was specific, correct, and reasonable. They diagnosed the problem (fountain had been installed incorrectly ... center parts in the wrong order and weird flex-tubing), got me scheduled, took the whole thing apart (required major power tools), re-drilled, put it back together .... and discovered that some cretin had returned a blocked piece of PVC to the vendor ... so they had to start ALL OVER. Not a word of complaint from Bob the Tech (although I'd have been HOPPING MAD), rescheduled, and back in two days to DO THE WHOLE DARN THING AGAIN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. No extra charge to me, no whining, and a fabulous result. The fountain still doesn't make as much noise as I want (wrong style, not bad tech), so I may have Bob take the center out and put something different in next fall ... but for the moment ... my fountain is happy and flowing!!! Tory did come to the house to determine the scope of work and provide an estimate. I agreed to schedule the repair 4 weeks out to accommodate Tory's schedule. He committed to do the work on 5/20 & 5/21. I tried to reconfirm the appointment with him via email, text message and voice message. I tried multiple times. I never thought about reviewing our waterfall maintenance guy. We've been using Bob and his son Troy for 3-4 years. Maybe longer. They have always answered our calls within a day and often are here the same day I call. Just last Thursday our floater went out and we were the new owners of almost a pool on the patio. Beware - this business is really pretty terrible. I called, made an appointment and was assured the appointment was firm. On the day of the appointment, the owner called AT THE TIME of our appointment to cancel the appointment. Over the following days, I tried several times to text him to see when we could reschedule the service - he never replied to my texts at all. I tried calling several times, no answer. We had a fountain that was improperly installed a number of years ago. When speaking with the artist who built the fountain we were told how to install in correctly. Since it also needed a new pump we started looking for someone who could reinstall the fountain and put in a new pump. Tory came to our home, looked over the information from the artist, and made recommendations. He gave us a ball park figure then left with a promise of when we could expect the estimate by email. We got the estimate and then scheduled a time for the job to be done. The job started on time and was finished on time. We could not be happier with Tory and his quality of work. We were not charged an arm and a leg like we had been when it was initially installed. More like finger and a toe. We got valuable advice on the care and feeding. We are very happy. read more

I would agree with Ann as I had a similar experience. Called on Thursday to have my fountain fixed. I was told they would come out Monday but if they came the wanted to fix it then. I told them that was no problem as I was not calling anyone else. It would be fixed along as it wasn't $2,000. I was to receive a phone call Sunday night telling me what time they would be out on Monday . They were a no call, no show so I would rate them unreliable. No answer to e-mails A day wasted. Great service, super communication, one of the "good" guys in the fountain repair business. I called after hours as well as filled out the contact form on the internet explaining what the problem was with my in ground fountain. Tory got back to me first thing the next morning and scheduled a time for him to come out to look at and repair the problem. He was here when he said he would be, very efficient, and arranged for a new filter to be delivered two days later since he didn't have one to fit my pump. When Justin came with the new filter he went through the system to make sure everything was in tip-top shape. Both Tory and Justin could have told me I needed more extensive work to fix my system, but they run an honest company, and my fountain just needed a few minor things done.
