I've wanted to visit the Chinese Lantern Festival for a few years now, and finally made my first…read moretrip this summer. Getting in was easy enough despite the crowds, with plenty of staff on hand to keep the line moving and tickets scanned quickly. The real draw, of course, is the lantern displays. They're beautifully crafted and surprisingly diverse, ranging from insects and flowers to more Philadelphia-themed exhibits tied to the city's 250th anniversary and major sporting events. There are well over a dozen displays spread throughout Franklin Square, and each one feels distinct enough to keep you moving through the park. Timing matters. While the lanterns are interesting during daylight, they really come alive once darkness sets in. If you're planning a visit, aim for dusk or later to get the full effect. As expected, there were plenty of families in attendance, along with food and drink options throughout the venue. The atmosphere was relaxed and festive without feeling overwhelming. Overall, I came away glad I finally went. The displays are impressive, the event is well organized, and it's easy to see why it has become a popular Philadelphia summer tradition. While I'm not sure it's something I'd need to do every year, it's absolutely worth experiencing at least once.

Perfect timing as it aligned with other activities planned - easy to purchase tickets online. Easy to get here by train - Franklin Square PATCO Station leaves you right here by the entrance literally or one can take car service or walk depending where you are coming from. Go through security and scan your ticket based on timed ticket entry and you are in. Tada! Overall it was good with interactive spots in the park. Even though earliest entry starts at 6pm, needed to wait til sunsets when the lights start coming on. The map was helpful though there wasn't really a course that took you from one section to another... it was just all open to find everything. The jellyfish mirror room was really cool but it was very warm. Lanterns were colorful. If you wish to eat in the park, there are food stands to purchase from. Have fun and take pics for memories.

My family had a terrible experience with Premier Outdoor Movies. On Monday, August 10th, I…read morerequested an outdoor movie system through Ted and Kim Chiodo, owners of Premier outdoor movies. The system was intended for a birthday party on Friday, August 14th. Shortly after booking the theatre screen, the weather forecast began to show a high chance of rain. I called Tedd and Kim, twice on Tuesday, August 11th, and two more times on Thursday August 13th to discuss their inclement weather policy and they did not answer our calls or call us back. The contract clearly states that if there is over a 50% chance of rain within two hours of the event, the event must be cancelled because the equipment can get damaged. I finally hear from one of the owners, Ted, at 2:36pm on Friday and he informed me that we could not cancel. He said we could "figure it out" when he arrived at my home. I contacted Ted again at 6:30pm to inform him that it was in fact raining and he re-asserted that he'd come to my house because he was now already on the way and said we could figure it out when he arrived and hope for the rain to end. At this point, I was uncomfortable. When he arrived at 7:05pm it was still raining and Ted greeted me with "you know you lost your money, right?". We asked him if he could wait around to see if the rain would end and he refused. He left in less than 10 minutes, charging us the full $411 and offering me to reschedule for an additional $250. Minutes later the rain stopped and Ted was still parked at the end of our neighborhood. We called him 4 times at 7:19pm and sent him a text to see if he would come back and set up. He ignored us and drove away. Horrible customer service and very unprofessional owners!

Jason the technician showed up and set up everything including theatre style popcorn with paper bags. He brought everything. I only had to show him where the electic outlets are.
