Petting cats from kennel to kennel. Which spreads illness!! I was not surprised by this behavior as I saw a man doing it, and he informed me that he was a volunteer and he knows what to do. I did not see him wash his hands after the encounter, and then other people saw him doing it and they started petting cats. Not a good example!!! Why aren't the volunteers going around helping spread information and helping. The staff is horrible. No one has incentive doesn't seem to care. The older male volunteer got confrontational and agitated. Maybe because he knew he was breaking the rules under the guise of being a volunteer. Showing poor behavior to other visitors.smh It was so unprofessional, but it's Pima county run. Seems like they need less volunteers clogging up the space and more people doing things. There is no reason it has to be so disorganized. We've been to the cat kennel multiple times over the years and it's always the same. A group of "volunteers" and employees congregated doing nothing. SMH We never decide to adopt there as it's so disorganized and unprofessional. Maybe one or two of the people work there (in blue?) but they are worthless. THE WORST SHELTER I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. It's the people not necessarily the conditions (for cats) Follow up- went to the southern Tucson, Humane Society and it was a much better experience. Professional and organized. They work…read moretirelessly to help the partner rescues find wonderful adopters, collect donations for food, crates, pee pads, etc. to share with rescues in need, and they use their decades of experience to keep the animals healthy, clean, happy, and safe. But most importantly, they have a thorough vetting process for potential adopters and make the best decisions they can all day every day to ensure the animals go to a loving secure home. I first went to RMM four years ago to adopt a kitten and my daughter and I fell in love with two 3-month old brothers when we saw them on Facebook. We couldn't wait to go in and meet them. Nancy was so helpful in deciding if we should adopt one or both. No bias, just facts based on the concerns I mentioned. I am so glad we adopted both and they're now happy healthy 4 year olds who we've bonded very closely with our family, especially our resident lab mix who had never been introduced to cats. They absolutely respect and adore each other! Based on my experience with adopting and getting to know the rescue better through Facebook posts, I started volunteering at RMM. I had been a volunteer foster for a rescue in WA State and wanted to continue serving animals in need. It took a while for my volunteer application to get a response (hey it's a busy place, 24/7 the animals are number one priority) and when I messaged them they immediately set up a training shift for me. It was obvious to me by the training that each and every process in the rescue operation has been carefully and thoughtfully established for the health and safety of the animals. Nancy brings all her knowledge and experience to the cause, educating everyone who comes through the door asking for help in finding a new furry family member. RMM doesn't always have what someone might be looking for, but Nancy can provide guidance, referrals, and a wealth of local knowledge to help potential adopters find the best fit, and help other rescues looking for wonderful adopters. RMM is not funded by tax payers. Their retail items are reasonably priced (maybe too good) and every penny goes to the overhead costs and care of the animals. The choice to rent in a mall is genius! Our community members have a choice and don't have to fall victim to backyard breeders, puppy mills, and pet stores with their outrageous profits and predatory lending. A couple of years ago, I was at the center on a Saturday afternoon volunteering during store hours and helping counsel potential adopters. We received a call from a previous adopter that a family member would be returning a dog they adopted at RMM at 12 weeks old because he said she is a "bad girl". Nancy immediately set up a time for them to bring the pup in that day just prior to closing and I watched as this little dogs heart broke into pieces as her owner for 5 months walked out the door without her. That sweet dog is now part of my family and she is a wonderful girl! She loves everyone and everyone loves her. Is she perfect? Of course not, she's a dog. But our family is so fortunate for her unconditional love for us and her crazy fast fetching style that blows everybody away. So now I have four awesome furkids, three of which I owe to RMM and the rescue partners who brought them to RMM. And four years later, I still volunteer for RMM whenever I can on top of having a full time job and being a single mom to a developmentally disabled teenager. Rescue Me Marana and all the volunteers are a bright shining star here in the Tucson area, and we are so fortunate to have them!

They were having fun going from the front to back yard all with their underground tunnel system they elected to dig up under our home. Drive our dogs mad! The digs were trying to catch them we were trying to catch them and we were just about the point of poisoning when we fell upon a website that answered our prayers. Advanced Animal Solutions would humanely trap and remove our pesty new tenants! Eric is great even better than some dr.'s calling in and checking up to see if the traps caught anything so he could come and remove them. Now if you are like me afraid of everything in the desert this is amazing service. Within a week our 6 month problem was solved! Now my ladscaped yard can start to bloom for spring! He was incredibly informative, and provided a very detailed inspection. He solved the problem in a few short days, The cost was very reasonable, and he humanely trapped the little booger. He was great at checking the traps to make sure the animal didn't suffer an overlong confinement and then released them back into the wild. Very good experience.
