We love paradise pet resort! We've been coming here for probably 5+ years. Our boy roger loves coming here!!! We mainly do daycare. He's boarded overnight here a handful of times too when we go on vacation. Roger used to go to work with my husband so Sometimes we'd go months without bringing him in, but no matter how long in between visits, the staff always remembers him/us!!! And now that my husband has a different job, we're bringing roger 1-2 days a week! Marilyn and Sue (and the rest of the staff) are always so friendly and I know they take good care of our boy! Every time we're driving, and we turn onto Coffey rd. from Piner rd. , Roger starts whining and howling , he knows where we're going, and then when we get out of the car, he practically drags me inside he's so exited to be there!!! I love how they have webcams to see the dogs play so I can check in on him when I'm at work. It's nice that they separate the little dogs from the big dogs too!! The prices are reasonable and comparable to other daycare places around. For daycare, It's $20 for half a day (less than 5 hours) and $29 for a full day (more than 5 hours)! And a full day can be from the Time they open to the time they close!! Their hours are great too and work with most peoples schedules: M-F 6:30am-7pm and Sat-Sun 7am-7pm! I know I can trust to bring Roger here and he's well taken care of and loved. And when we bring him home he is one pooped pup!!! TLDR: KENNEL COUGH!! My dog is a consistently healthy poodle mix. He spends 4-5 days each week socializing with his dog park friends. Other than having a bad reaction to trazodone on our last flight, and the occasional foxtail issue, he has never had a sick day in his life. We recently used Paradise pets in a pinch because we could not book our house sitter on short notice. We were referred by a friend who planned to board his three dogs at Paradise during the same time. I felt good based on his referral and knowing my dog would be in the company of his dog park friends. Our dog stayed two nights. Before his visit he got all his vax updates and wellness check by our long time vet. Since we picked him up he has been so sick we have visited our vets twice. First for vomiting and Diarrhea. Today we went in for Kennel Cough. With the emergency visits and meds, I have paid $300 in vet bills. Bottom line, I will be looking for other options next time I need to board my dog. read more

While we were initially very excited about paradise pet resort, we ended up having a negative experience after 3 sessions. Another dog bit our dog's ear and when I went to pick him up, he was bleeding everywhere; when he would shake it would splatter all over the place. The staff had made an attempt to bandage him up but it came loose. They offered to rebandage him up but they couldn't find the bandages and were trying to reuse the old ones. I realized at this time that the two staff members present are very young and don't have supplies and protocols in place to handle this situation. I ended up having to take off my sweater and wrap it around my dog's head while we drove to the vet. It was several weeks of TLC, a couple different cones and bandages, and two vet trips later (and $$$) we were finally back in action following the bite. The owner refunded us the rest of our package and told us we are no longer welcome in the play groups. I understand things happen with dogs but I think there are two things that could be improved: 1. Training for the staff to ensure they have clear protocol and supplies for incidents like these. 2. A more favorable ratio of dogs to trainers to ensure that the staff can proactively prevent situations like this in the future. Reflecting after a few months, it seems that this facility is more geared towards dogs who are laid back or need very minimal supervision during play. Thanks to another reviewer here, we tried out K9 Activity club and have had an excellent, highly tailored experience that was more right for our pup who needed some additional training and closer supervision when adjusting to the play groups! read more

I've been meaning to write this for some Time.. about a year ago we were looking for a place to board our 3 yr old lab when we are out of town as our previous sitter had moved. We didn't want to be making last minute decisions so we began calling and interviewing various locations. Our dog is a social therapy dog and was going to work with me daily at assisted living / memory care so he can be with residents. His demeanor is calm, passive and he does not like large groups of dogs. I told this to paradise intake person who assured me that they would put him in a small, friendly group. Per their policy I needed to leave him at "daycare" so they could assess him prior to taking us on as a boarding client. As she led my dog away, I began watching on the cameras as he went past the kennels into one of the "runs" with about 7 other dogs. The lady at the counter told me I could leave. I did not. I continued to watch as my calm dog was swarmed by the others. He started to go away from the pack but was immediately mounted from behind and on the front by two dogs while staff stood by chatting in the run. I asked the lady at the counter if they could have the other dogs not molest my dog. She looked at the camera apologized and radioed. I watched as staff pulled the dogs apart and turn on a hose. One dog became aggressive and a staff removed it. The lady in the lobby again insisted I leave and let the dogs work it out. I ignored her and watched as my dog started to climb an obstacle to avoid one of the other dogs. I watched as the one dog continued to "stalk" my dog with his hair raised up. Staff did nothing and I watched as my dog was now running along the back wall where he heard people, trying to jump on the wall in panic. I told the lady my dog is in distress- she tells me they need to work it out and I should leave as it's often more stressful for the owner than the dog. The one dog got my dog cornered and began to attack, and another dog also came over staff ran to my dog in the corner yelping and trying to climb a cement wall. With hoses, staff got the other dog off. I was in complete panic .. bring me my dog now!!! Staff tried to tell me that he needs time and there is another area - I told them no. After years of using Paradise Pet to board my dogs, after this past experience this weekend I will never be taking my animals there again. We have had multiple bad experiences there over the years, but I have always given them another chance. But I picked my dog up yesterday (12/28) and she was disgusting and is so sick. She has an ear infection, her eye is full of goop, she has been clicking her jaw like it's bugging her, and she keeps licking her toes like they're inflamed in between. Additionally, she smelled absolutely disgusting and was covered in dog pee. I know that dogs pee on the ground, and it was rainy, and then the dogs play together, but this was so bad I didn't even want to put her in the car. Her overall condition led me to feel like they do little to nothing over the bare minimum of preventing fights and feeding the dogs. For the almost $60/day I am spending I would expect her to be cared for the way she would be at home or close to it. Basic cleanliness, not having to spend who knows how long stinky and covered in other dogs pee, and maybe someone would notice that she was sick and make some sort of concession to take care of her. I have boarded my dog Milo at Paradise in Santa Rosa about 5 or times. Milo is shy and was very fearful for the first few visits. Now he walks in with a wagging tail! I so appreciate the ability to drop him off at any time. I preface this review with saying I usually don't write reviews but felt it extremely important to do so with this place because of the extremely negative experience that I had. I urge you to read below what happened and not bring your dogs to this dog kennel. I recently boarded my 2.5 year old chocolate labrador, Zoe with the Paradise Pet Resort in Rohnert Park. Zoe has often stayed at dog kennels and is the most easy going dog with a very good temperament. With that said I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the Paradise Pet Resort. It was only until I picked Zoe up (after staying there for 3 nights) did I realize she had approx. 20 scratches on her underbelly and some pretty significant cuts on her neck (pictures have been uploaded to Yelp). When I brought her back in, the receptionist at the desk said it could have been a result of a dog scratching her or something in the play area thats scratching her (e.g. the baby pool or the turf). But keep in mind, no one called me during Zoe's stay nor were they aware of how severe the scratches were until I brought it to their attention at the end of her stay. I politely requested to speak to the supervisor of which I was told they were not there but will call me the next day. The very next day (on Monday) I called in of which they said the earliest I would receive a call from the supervisor / owner would be Friday. I even offered that once I could speak to someone in charge that I would be willing to bring Zoe back in to determine what could be the root cause. It has since been over 2 weeks and I have still not yet received a call to discuss this further. The staff at this place are all significantly young, they did not seem experienced and did not handle the situation well at all. In speaking with other locals and dog kennels I have also heard that the staff are under qualified and don't know what they are doing. One last thing to add, yes they have web cams so you can see how your dog is doing but I've often heard that customers end up not liking what they see half the time. When accessing this web cam I noticed 1 dog fight, and the young staff overseeing the dogs seemed absent and not focused on the dogs. read more

"Dogs get sick" and "Kennels are stressful." This is the answer I received when dismayed that my healthy vibrant corgi developed serious illness during his short stay at Pet Paradise. Left him there on Friday night, and he was vomiting, disoriented and lethargic by Sunday morning. Staff at the front desk had no information when we picked him up, and didn't bother to tell me my dog was sick until AFTER I paid the $100 tab for 2 nights. (I did not receive the Sunday AM voicemail they left until long after I collected my dog.) Later, by phone, the site manager expressed absolute indifference to the situation -- "Kennels are stressful" and "dogs get sick," Marylin said, after talking over my wife repeatedly to emphasize that they did "all they could" by simply calling us on Sunday morning. My sick dog was given no special attention, he was not isolated from the rest of the dogs for his or their safety, and he was left to sit unbathed after being discovered covered in his own vomit when they found him in the morning. He was a wreck! The LEAST they could do is apologize and act like they care at all for my dog, who has been going there for short stays for years now. I incurred a $176 vet bill to learn that my dog had eaten something toxic while there (likely another dog's poop) and the owner (who will not call me and makes Marylin do all of his communicating for him) will neither refund the hefty cost of our dog's stay nor compensate us for the vet bill that was 100% attributable to the negligence of his staff. If my dog doesn't recover, this review will be updated. My boyfriend and I brought our German Shepard mix puppy at the Santa Rosa location and are very disappointed with the facility, lodging and service from their staff members. After the first few times, we noticed our puppy was extremely anxious when we dropped him off then sad and quiet when he was picked up. We thought he was either tired from playing with the other dogs or was still getting used to being separated from us. Nonetheless, we used the "ODoggy" camera app where you can watch your puppy live. We noticed that dogs were left alone without supervision, aggressive towards each other without being monitored, the facility was dirty, etc. This time however, we picked up our dog and noticed that he had lower energy than normal. We had paid for an overnight stay because we went out of town. We noticed a yellow, green sac with dots in his left ear and called the doctor. Banfield hospital said that our dog contracted ear mites from another dog or sharing a bed that was dirty and not washed properly. We called Jasmine at the front desk to let the facility know in preparation for future dogs and dog parents that might run into this problem. Jasmine was unempathetic and laughed on the phone saying "Ha, thanks for letting us know?" in a mocking tone. As you have been reading from other reviews below, the staff at the Santa Rosa location never gives feedback about your dogs performance/well being or seems to genuinely care about the animals that come in. I truly hope that there are other facilities in the area that take better care of their animals, lodging, etc because we are definitely not bringing our puppy back here. Do not leave your dog here. Ours ended up with a severe case of kennel cough even though she's had all her shots including bordotella. The vet knew without our saying which kennel our dog stayed at. Also when we picked up our dog she smelled terrible and needed a bath as soon as we got home. I washed her pad and had to air out the stuffing over 2 days outside. Horrible experience. We booked our Aussie this past week for our vacation, and we're so impressed by their service! The price is extremely reasonable for the level of care provided. They have an app where you can watch the dogs playing, and it was so great to be able to check in on her. The employees clearly are all dog lovers and they devote a lot of attention and care to all of the dogs. They also gave a complimentary bath to our girl. I wanted to give no stars. This boarding facility is HORRIBLE. I boarded my miniature poodle there for 4 nights in November, 2023. It turns out he was so miserable he barked non-stop for four days, and it was so bad and he barked so long and was in so much distress his vocal chords were damaged. But I had called every day to check on him to see how he was doing and the staff there actually lied to me and told me he "was doing great." Every day I called to check on him, they told me was "doing great." They told me the same thing when I paid and picked him up - "He did great." But after I got him home he tried to bark at the mailman but he couldn't - he tried but only a terrible wheezing came out. His vocal chords were clearly damaged. I was totally confused and shocked and called them. ONLY THEN did they tell me that indeed, he had barked non-stop the whole time and was miserable. Then the staffperson callously told me I should take him to a veterinarian about his vocal chords. If they had told me how bad he actually was doing, I could have had a friend pick him up for me. And making it all even worse, is that I wrote a letter complaining about this to the owner, and he has refused to address this with me. He still hasn't responded to my letter, what happened to my poor little dog there, or why his staff didn't tell me about it when I called to check on him. Horrible owner, horrible staff. A caring owner would have responded to me and would feel terrible about it and want to make it right. Caring staff wouldn't have lied to me when I called. And if they were caring, they would have called me after one day of continuous barking to see what I wanted to do. HORRIBLE business. read more

I'm shocked to read the review about the Rohnert Park location. I live in Santa Rosa, and normally bring my Cavalier to that location. I can hardly say enough about how kind & thoughtful the staff are. Marilyn, Sue, wish i could remember more names - they've all been sweethearts. I buy a package of 4-hr doggy day care tickets,and they keep track for me. I like that there is a large-dog play area and a small-dog one. That way a boisterous big happy dog doesn't roll over my Cavalier while playing. I've also had them board her for a week or two at a time, when I've been on vacation. I haven't used the Rohnert Park one but rarely. It's a shame the reviewer didn't have a chance to discuss the situation w/ one of the owners. I had one occasion when I checked In with them, and they were eager to make sure things were taken care of. I know it's owned by a few local people, and they're eager to keep a good reputation. Oh, they also have a groomer in once or twice a week by appointment, and they can give her a bath and nail trim. read more

Oh my gosh this place is amazing!!!! I have a puppy with a lot of energy and it's great for her to go to doggy daycare to get it out and socialize. I was taking her to another place in town but when I picked her up she was full of mud, and if you didn't want a muddy dog they charge $5 to hose her off and give you a soaking wet dog. Ugh! Tried this place and couldn't be happier!!!! They even give you a treat/toy bag at the end of their first day. And a cute little report card with her pictures on it. I will be going back for sure!!! I have been coming here since it was Camp Bow Wow and am thrilled at the level of service we get. Liuginia and staff loved my girl Cora (who has sinced passed away) and she loved them. It was always a delight to take Cora here because she knew where we were going as soon as we turned onto Piner Road. Now I have a new dog and the staff here are being absolutely wonderful with the transition. Liuginia is actually the one who brought me and Stella Luna together and I couldn't be happier! Stella Luna loves Paradise Pet Resort almost as much as Cora did and I envision many happy years here! read more

I have a Bichon with severe skin allergies. If he doesn't get his medications correctly he will chew his skin until it bleeds and sores are created. The last kennel we went to messed up his medication schedule, gave his prednisone every day instead of every other, ran out of the medication because of their error and didn't bother to call me to let me know. As a result of 7 days without meds he chewed himself raw and had to be taken to the vet when I got home. Paradise pet resort was very careful to write everything down, have me double check it, and gave me confidence they could take care of him. I was able to log into the computer daily to see him running around with other little dogs. Being able to play all day with others also helped distract him and keep him from chewing. When I picked him up his skin looked even better than when I dropped him off. They also offered a discount for stays over 7 days and didn't charge extra for administering medications, unlike other kennels. They gave him a free bath and even washed the blanket i brought. I have tried 4 different kennels and this is the one I will be sticking with from now on! read more

This review is for the Rohnert Park location. The staff here is great and are very sweet and hard working. The facility itself is ok, it's big but kind of boring and seems pretty uncomfortable/stressful for the dogs. There's no place for them to lie down, it's all just hard cement and astro turf. They really need some cots for the dogs to hang out on and take 5. They could use more things to play on or climb up on - there's like one little structure per area. The only problem we had really was the amount of dogs in there. It's so loud and overwhelming. We went to pick up our 2 puppies and it was chaos in there. One of them contracted Kennel Cough there. PLEASE!! It's so important to keep your pets vaccinated ESPECIALLY if you frequently board them - and the Bordetella vaccine is not expensive. read more

First off, I have never taken my dog to a dog daycare, she is spoiled and stays with my mother only, but we did need to board her for one night, and it was last minute. My husband called them two days before we were going to leaving for vacation, the receptionist was so nice and had said that we did need to bring her in for an interview and leave her for three hours. So, I brought her at 7:00am, yes, they were open that early, I walked in, handed the woman her vet papers, and my dog, filled out a few sheets on my dog and left. Oh! I forgot to mention, she said I could leave her there all day if I needed to, at no charge, because it was an interview day. Fabulous! My husband picked her up, she had a free toy, bone and a little certificate saying that she passed her interview and there was also a picture of her and two dogs playing, it was pretty adorable. We dropped her off the next day, left her overnight and picked her up the following night, all for 40 dollars. The girls are all super nice, and very good with dogs. We could even log onto the website and see her playing while we were gone! We will be back, I couldn 't be more impressed with this place. Thank you so much! read more

So happy with this place. We recently adopted a Schnauzer and took my dog to the vet to get his nails clipped. The technician told us they couldn't do it and that I would have to put my dog out every time I need it. Since my dog needed a cut also, i thought I would give it another try and go here. We love taking our dog, Brutus the Destroyer of Worlds to Paradise Pets. He loves it, the staff is wonderful, caring and super attentive to the dogs. Our dog gets really excited when he realizes we are taking him to Paradise Pet. My wife and I have had to take several long trips and have left Brutus with them for 2+ weeks. My fluffy white sister, Lucy, was going to be left all alone for some time and I wasn't able to take her in. I was seriously heartbroken. At Paradise Pet Resort, she spent her days playing with staff and other dogs. In the evenings, she rested with other friendly overnight doggie guests. I watched her over the webcam every other day, felt guilty that I couldn't be with her, but grateful that she was well cared for in a very happy place. I had to drop my cat off for the day because of getting my apartment flea bombed. She wasn't very happy to be there with other cats but the staff was very accommodating. It was only $10 for daycare and that was the whole day! They also offer boarding which I would definitely use if I was leaving town. This was our dog's 2nd visit to Paradise not including the "interview" day, and despite the recent bad publicity surrounding the Rohnert Park location, we decided to bring him back because we did not have any issues at the SR location previously. This was a huge mistake and we should have gone with our gut and found a different place. When we picked him up, he had a bite mark on his neck. They told us we were not welcome back and that he spent almost the entire stay in his kennel because he was showing aggression towards the other dogs. I find this extremely strange and hard to believe there isn't more to the story. Our dog has been well socialized since he was a puppy. We live in a dog friendly community and he has extended contact with numerous dogs almost every day. He has never once shown a sign of aggression toward another animal (or human) and anyone who knows him can tell you what a big goofy ball of joy he is. I understand that sometimes even the friendliest dog can have a bad day, especially under stress or in a new environment, but I did not appreciate the staff's dismissive and unapologetic attitude. They suggested next time we bring him to the RP location, I think we would rather not bring our dog to a place that had to have the police called on them for negligence. They have completely lost our trust, and possibly traumatized our dog. The fact that they never once thought to call us to notify that our dog has been biten??? This if definitely NOT the place to bring your pet if you want them to be cared for and looked after. Will never be giving this company another cent of my money, and I suggest you don't either. There are PLENTY of competitors who offer better care, don't fall for the cheap price, you clearly get what you pay for. read more

Paradise Pets is great ! Super reliable and by far the best pet place I've brought my dog to. It's very clean from what I've seen and Coco always looks happy when I pick him up. They have a very friendly staff that's understanding and flexible to your dog's needs. I always feel like my Coco is getting the attention he deserves. Also ! I take my rescue/pandemic pup to the Santa Rosa location for daycare several times a week. He is ALWAYS excited to go which makes me feel so much better about having to be back in the office half-time. He attends the small dog room and unlike other dog boarding/daycares he has attended, he has never gotten sick here (hope I'm not jinxing things by typing this). The packages are an amazing deal and you can do a true half-day (up to five hours) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. (or however you wish to do it within their hours) and the dogs aren't put into a kennel for two hours like they are at another local place that is far more expensive. They do put the dogs in a run between 4 and 5:30ish to clean, but you can avoid this by picking your pup earlier. Staff knows me and my pup well and are always very welcoming and kind.
