Rarely am I this impressed by a food truck, but Paradise Street Eats was phenomenal. I stumbled on this Indian food truck late at night when the bars had just closed and basically nothing else was open. Best decision of the night. For around $15, I got a huge butter chicken and rice plate and it was seriously so good. Not sure if the drinks helped, but I honestly have zero complaints, the portion was massive, the flavors were on point, and it hit perfectly at that hour. Also mentioned their gobi and received some on the side to try. Special shout out to Gabe and Mo! Extremely friendly and makes you feel special. Gobi is fried just right. Crispy with thin layer of dough (some places you can only taste the dough). Cauliflower is perfectly cooked inside. Sauce on top is sweet and savory, pairs well with Gobi. Tandoori chicken is not dry (hard to do) and well flavored. Also huge portion size. Took me 2 meals to finish. Although both are 10/10. I still like their loaded fries better. It was a little tricky to find with the detours but it's right next to Buffalo wild wings on Randolph on the corner of Monroe and Randolph behind a cement wall with a wrought iron gate on top. When I arrived the people were pouring in and out of the entrance and there was about 10 people waiting for food So I knew it was going to be good and I wasn't wrong. I got the butter chicken rice bowl and pizza dosa rolls. My colleague who went with me got the cauliflower tacos. The cauliflower tacos I didn't expect to like because I'm not a big vegetable person but they reminded me of a deep fried mushroom. They were super crunchy and moist and the taco shell was crunchy too and there was a nice creaminess to the inside slaw. For me to say I would order something veggie is really saying something and I would definitely order that for myself. The dosa rolls were a little confusing for me The wrap was similar to a crepe but because I had to take it on the go, it got soggy The flavor was okay; came with a variety of dipping sauces so you could mix up the flavor which was nice but I didn't appreciate the texture. The real winner for me was the butter chicken rice bowl. They asked me if I wanted the butter chicken crispy or regular and I said crispy thinking it would be deep fried and all it did really was make the chunks of chicken more firm and a little stringy but the flavor was definitely on point and the rice was fantastic. This is not a knock against them but simply an ordering area in an area of ignorance on my part The chicken was still moist and could be smashed with the fork. I would definitely order this again the rice was light and fluffy and slightly chewy and there was this great yogurt sauce with mint on top which added a nice refreshing hint to cut through the richness of the buttery sauce on the chicken. The prices were on point and the lemonade was more sour than sweet which I prefer. All of my items were hitting for me. The only drawback I saw was there's no seating (hence the one star deduction) but there are chairs next door at Buffalo wild wings but nowhere for the food truck patrons. I wasn't clear if Buffalo wild wings would let you sit in their tables but I doubted it. The customer service was great I was in and out and under 10 minutes and everything came with a smile and they offer you tonsils and even a plastic bag to carry your items if you get multiple things and need to be on the move. Location - it's not in a great spot and hidden behind a wall. The hours were not correct. The trash around the area was disheartening. For the service - nice and polite staff. The main fryer was down, which made me wonder about the separation of vegetarian options and non. At least I was the first order of the day.... The food was tasty and had good flavor. I will update my review. My 1st review was how I feel about the hours and the management, so hopefully they amend this. Otherwise, I came back to the truck a day later. I would have to say the food itself was pretty delicious. It's a food truck tucked away by a Buffalo Wild Wings. The area around in the detriot area has seating, which is perfect while the weather is still nice outside. I got the Loaded Fries, Chicken Tandoori, and the Mango Lassi. I would say the food sat pretty heavy inside me though afterwards. So, be prepared. I highly recommend all of them tho. You can also vary the spiciness. read more

Delicious food! Quick, friendly service! Veg samosa - crispy outside and the filling inside (potatoes, green peas, onions) was perfectly spiced. Kati tacos - my first time having Indian-style tacos. They were very good. The shredded cabbage adds just the right amount of crunch and cuts through the richness of the sauces. The butter chicken was juicy and well seasoned. They also come with a mint chutney and a tamarind sauce, I recommend getting them on the side. Mango lassi - cool and refreshing; sweet, but not too sweet. I wasn't expecting those "noodles" at the bottom, I'm not sure I like them. I loved it! I had butter chicken, samosas, and a mango Lassi. The butter chicken was fabulous and you get a ton of chicken - it definitely took me two days to finish one order. The samosas were flaky and perfect, and you can't go wrong with a mango Lassi. I want to go back because the tacos and fries sound amazing. Parking can be a little tricky - you can park on the street out front pretty easily on a weekday/earlier, if you're coming on a weekend night, good luck. Also double check the hours because they are closed for a chunk of time in the afternoon. Let's start By the food was extremely tasty. Very yummy! I got the butter chicken chaat and the tandoori butter chicken! Both came out hot and fast and fresh! You can choose to have spicy or regular! As far as the rose drink I ordered, I probably would've have chosen a regular lemonade or something. The noodles in the drink threw me lol. Chewy pink sweet noodles. The drink itself has a milky taste to it but I'm unsure if there is dairy. It was hard not to suck up the noodles in the straw so I felt like I was literally drinking sweet noodles. Not a big fan of that but if you like textured drinks this may be your cup of tea, who knows! Only one way to find out! As far as business hours on their website, I'd definitely have someone look into that. The business hours displayed are not correct. They open and close sometime around 3pm and then reopen around 6pm to 10pm or something like that. I came to try the food and they were closed so I explored detroit had some fun then came back to a open food truck. I had a 10/10 kind of evening that day. Thank you for the food! It is right next to Ford Field and it is also conveniently next to a parking structure that I utilized. I love the concept of the Indian Taco truck. Fast and simple when ordering. Everyone was so nice and they gave me a great recommendation. I got the 1) Tandoori tacos 2) samosa 3) mango lassi I ended up getting pani puri, chai, and crispy butter chicken rice that just hit the spot. The sauces that went with the dishes had a good balance of sweet and spicy. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely come again. They have a insta page (check it out!) Easy street parking in Zone 103 using the Park Detroit App. No need for change. Also east parking in 301 Monroe lot at Park Rite lot. Different rates in effect depending on the time of day. The order of Gobi Loaded Fries (seasoned shoestring fries tossed in garlic, green onion, chili, chaat masala, cheese, XXX sauce, black sesame, and crispy gobi [cauliflower]) that I sampled was definitely delicious and will be a repeat buy in the future. The fries were tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, and held the flavors very well. The gobi was crispy and flavorful. The other toppings pulled everything together. I did think, however, that the order would have been better with more gobi and sauce. The Crispy Butter Chicken Rice Bowl (crispy boneless chicken coated in butter sauce, white basmati rice, Indochinese slaw, mint-and-tamarind chutney, and xxx sauce) was flavorful, but not overly spicy. As expected, it tasted like a Chinese-style rice bowl with Indian seasoning added for extra flavor. Quite tasty. I was not entirely sure what the "XXX sauce" was made of, but it tasted somewhat like a mixture of mayonnaise, chili sauce, and spices, which went well with the other flavors in both items. There were a few things that i had that i really liked, and others that could be fantastic with a few small adjustments. The chicken and the spices were really tasty. The tikka fries were good, except i wasn't a fan of the actual fries. If they coated the fries with salt, garam masala, and a some other spices, they wouldve been killer. They offered to remake which I was pleased and went to pick it up. If you're looking for something different, this is your place. Next to the hustle and bustle of greek town this hidden gem sits on a parking lot not to far. I accompanied my mom on one of her many city adventures and we ended up here. I will say the wait wasn't the best and admit they did say one of their fryers was down but this wasn't until after a few slight nervous smiles from the cashier. Other than that it really sets the mode for a Friday night out on the town! We had order 2 appetizers, an entree and a drink. With a few but diverse menu items this small food truck did not fall short. I personally have never had any Indian food styled like this. We ordered the Lamb Kheema Samosa (absolutely delicious btw), Paradise Fries, Tandoori Tacos and a Royal Rose drink. I will say those Lamb Kheema Samosa were nothing short of paradise, it came with a mint chutney and a tamarind chutney( the mint chutney was very thin but delicious while the tamarind was a bit thick and lackluster in comparison). Tandoori Tacos are totally the way to go! They are different, fulfilling and bursting with flavor! It comes with a refreshing slaw that provides just enough crunch to be light and refreshing. The paradise fries were very nice, they were different and some times overwhelming, it's a very heavy dish with big proportions so either come hungry or be prepared to share. Last but not least was the royal rose beverage. Now this was an experience, with a fragrant rose and milk flavor this drink has its own little surprise. Chia seeds and what my mother described as stringy boba was the surprise we had in store with this drink. I personally wouldn't really drink it all the time but it was nice to try something different. Overall Paradise brings a unique and delicious flavor to downtown detroit. This cute food truck is a short walk from greektown or campus martius. The portions were large and the food was delicious! Mo and Abe really nice and helpful about the menu. I had the rice bowl with the crispy butter chicken. It had a really good creamy sauce over top and some fresh herbs too. The flavor was delicious and I would definitely order it again! I had enough for at least two possibly three meals. The mango Lassie was creamy and delicious. I also had the samosas, unfortunately I forgot to ask for the tamarind chutney and the mint chutney. The flavor on the dough and the filling though were really good. Sometimes Indian food is really spicy and so I did not order it spicy. Though it was very flavorful I did not find it spicy so next time I would get the spicy. While there are some tables you can stand at and eat, there isn't any place to sit. Another thing to consider is parking, there's plenty of street parking in the area you may just have to walk a few blocks but it's totally worth it! read more
