Consistently great service and delicious food. Chuy is the reason we frequent. The rest of the team is friendly and the price is fair so what more can a customer ask for.

Place is great. Great customer service. The sushi's are amazing and yes, all you can eat for $40. Place has people conversing and a soccer game showing but best of all is the sushi. Worth visiting. Park from behind 4th street, you'll get a 2 hour limit parking fee for 75 cents and hour. The place has a fair amount of tables. My Pastor referred me and I tried. At first the male waiter didn't recognize me as a customer until I spoke up but the female customer who took over was nicer to me. Didn't charge me for the extra dish I couldn't finish for this one time only but gave her a big tip. Even though some discrimination took place I enjoyed it.

Good service, good value for your money with AYCE. I loved the paradise roll but also tried the double tuna. The salad and miso soup were also great! Tried quail eggs for the first time- those are a must-try!

one of the rare, if not only, all you can eat sushi spots in Marin County. $30 for lunch (1130a-3p), $42 for dinner (3p-close). I tend to stick to nigiri and the fish to rice ratio is quite decent compared to other AYCE sushi places. You can also add sashimi for an extra $10, but the AYCE menu has rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, and appetizers!!! Haven't tried any of the cocktails but they look quite tasty. They also have Happy Hour. Service was great, my glass of ice water was never empty, and my food arrived within 7-10 mins from when I ordered. They also use Toast and have a Rewards program so make sure you give them your phone number and sign up when asking for the check. They also have locations in Santa Rosa and Petaluma, which were the ones I used to frequent, so I'm overjoyed there's one here in San Rafael! My only gripe would be the parking situation as the block is all metered.

We came here because it was hot and we wanted to eat something cool. We have seen this location and finally decided that it was time to try it. When i walked in i was greeted by a nice hostess and she asked if we had a reservation and if no, we could still get seated anywhere we would like. We sat at the corner booth and then our waiter came by with nice ice cold water and explained how the menu works. Menu: you can order off the all you can eat menu for $40 per person or you can order from the other menu and that wis more traditional in the sense that its bento box's, single hand rolls, plates etc. We did the all you could eat $40 and it was perfect since that option comes with a soup and salad The ambiance and staff was great, they have a full bar and its spacious inside , not loud, parking all along side the street and they have parking in the back.

We had dinner last night at Paradise Sushi & Grill with my kids, and it was such a great experience. The sushi was fresh and very good--everyone found something they loved. The ambience was great as well--comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxed family dinner. The service was excellent, and we especially want to give a special shoutout to Jackie, our server. She was very friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. She truly made our evening even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be coming back!

This was our second visit to Paradise Sushi. We've been to the Petaluma location quite a few times and loved it. We were excited when we found out they were opening in San Rafael. Plenty of parking. Went for lunch today. If you love sushi, the all you can eat is the way to go. Lunch price is $26.95. My favorite is the Golden California Roll. We like to sit at the counter and watch them make the rolls. Food was excellent, as well as the service. We will definitely make this our go to sushi in San Rafael.

This is one of the only places you can go on 4th street for a nice inexpensive vegan options. I wish they had more expansive menu though.

The restaurant doesn't allow modifications, which was one reason we waited until now to try, since both of us have food allergies. We selected the miso soup (my husband said it was difficult and he liked it, but has had better), the seaweed salad (I loved it-clean and not dripping with dressing), four types of sashimi (all very flavorful and fresh), and two rolls (ocean, and soft shell crab). The soft shell crab was delicious and the ocean was very good. The outside patio will be our next destination. Everyone was very nice and friendly. We're looking forward to trying a meal in the patio soon.

Service by main waiter was great as always. Getting our food was very slow and left some with ordered items and others of us waiting 20+ min (I expect timing differences in sushi restaurants but not to this extent) Sushi (tuna only) and also the Roll with tuna on top did not look presentable, as fish was probably older than it should have been, and/or not handled properly, or a poor section of fish, and should have been used for a different purpose (or discarded), rather than give us something that does not look or taste great. Another roll (Akira) as well was not at the same level as it had been on other visits. We should have complained, but waited so long that we just moved forward with items that were still good. Food should look beautiful or intentional relative what it represents, which normally it does at this restaurant. Experience last night was a 2 star given a couple of the items were still good (salad, salmon, others). Adding 4 stars to this review given the normal 4 to 5 stars based on prior exceptional visits. Hope last night was a one-off and doesn't represent something else going in the restaurant. I will be back and hope this comes back up to higher level.

Terrible service, cold pre-made food, questionable seafood freshness, and a staff attitude that ruined a family birthday dinner. We came here for my sister-in-law's birthday during a weekend getaway. Our 5:30 p.m. reservation for party of 5 was easy because the restaurant was empty. We chose to sit outside since the weather was nice. At first, everything seemed fine. The waiter brought menus, dinnerware, cups, and water quickly and took our order in a reasonable amount of time. Then the food came out suspiciously fast. The chawanmushi was lukewarm, which is completely wrong for a steamed egg custard that should be served hot and freshly steamed. That made me wonder how much had been prepared too early and left sitting around. The chicken karaage, lemon salmon, tempura udon, agedashi tofu, sashimi, and nigiri sampler were all forgettable. At best, it was average Japanese food for an area with limited options. Worse, the fish had a noticeable "fishy" taste, which raised serious concerns about freshness or storage. The final item we ordered was Curry Tonkatsu, but regular tonkatsu came out instead. We left it untouched because we wanted to send it back or exchange it. By then, we were almost 40 minutes into dinner, everyone had run out of water, and the waiter still had not checked on us. When we finally saw him after another long disappearance, we asked him to come over and clarify the order. That is where the entire table lost its appetite. When we explained that we had ordered Curry Tonkatsu, the waiter became defensive and insisted, loudly and condescendingly, that he had asked whether we wanted curry and that we had said tonkatsu. My sister-in-law explained she said tonkatsu because the menu offered a choice between tonkatsu and chicken katsu, but he kept scolding her. The worst part? She apologized repeatedly--on her own birthday--while he doubled down and said, "Besides, we already made it." So we were supposed to accept the wrong order because the kitchen had already made it? There was zero ownership, zero hospitality, and zero professionalism. My husband asked if we could at least get a side of curry, and we also asked for water. The waiter left and did not return for another 20 minutes. When he finally came back outside, he served the large table next to us first. By the time he reached us, the pitcher ran out, so only three of five people got water. We had to share what little we received before he returned again. The curry side did not arrive until about half an hour after we asked for it. When it finally came out, it was cold and served in a plain white bowl. Either it had been made far too early and left out, or they are microwaving pre-made food for guests. By then, the meal was already ruined. At that point, we just wanted to pay and leave. Everyone was still hungry, but no one had an appetite after being talked down to, ignored, left without water on a hot summer evening, and made to feel punished for questioning a wrong order. The waiter never checked on us again, so we went inside to pay at the register ourselves. As we left, we passed him, and he did not acknowledge us at all. Maybe this place gets a pass because the area has limited Japanese options, but calling it an izakaya is a joke. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was worse than anything I have experienced at far more ordinary restaurants in the midwest like IOWA or MINNESOTA. I will never come back, and I will warn others. Cold food that tasted pre-made or microwaved, seafood that raised freshness concerns, non-existent service, water treated like a luxury, and a waiter more interested in proving a point than fixing a problem. I am genuinely appalled. Avoid this place.

What made it worse was watching them clear two other tables, seat new families there, and fully set those tables up -- all while we were still sitting there with zero service.
