I cannot say enough good things about Paragon Coffeehouse. I had been on an epic roadtrip for the last week and a half, and this was the best coffee shop I had visited from here to Vancouver, BC. Not only is the coffee drinks excellent (they use Noblehouse Coffee out of Ashland, OR), but their pastries are top notch. The cafe is a spacious place with lots of fun merch, games to play, and a nice spot to sit and work or chat with a friend. The service was great and they helped me make good choices on what to get. I couldn't resist trying one of their specialty drinks, the Maple Lavender latte with orange zest. When I went to sip this beautiful drink I also breathed in the fresh orange zest scent. This is one of the best latte's I've ever had. The flavors go together so beautifully and I wish I could have this every day. For pastries, I tried their cheddar scallion scone and their apple turnover. The cheddar scone was like no other scone over had. It was so light, cheesy and fluffy. The apple pastry was also amazing. I highly recommend stopping here if you pass through Crescent City. I would move here just so I could come to this coffee shop every day. read more

En route to the Redwoods, we needed a quick pick-me-up, and the reviews and menu here looked promising. Fortunately, the place lived up to expectations. There was a bit of a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly. The coffee shop itself is spacious, with plenty of seating, lots of natural light, and a selection of cute items for sale that add to the charm of the space.There were five of us, and we all ordered different drinks. Everything was well made, but my favorite was the Golden Cardamom Latte. It was flavorful, perfectly balanced, and several of my friends agreed it was the standout drink of the group. We also picked up a couple of pastries, both of which were delicious and paired nicely with the coffee. To keep this short and sweet, my wife and I are on a road trip and we love cafes so Paragon popped up on our journey and it was the perfect stop. The coffee was amazing, I had their Maple lavender latte with an orange zest and I almost went in for another one. I just didn't need the double up on caffeine lol. My wife got the blueberry pancake latte and she was absolutely in love it with it. On top of that we got the spinach and cheese croissant and she got cheese croissant and both were delicious!! The vibe was very open and relaxing. You could go play games , do homework and enjoy the space without any issues. While Crescent City as a whole is a pretty sleepy town, Paragon was absolutely mobbed when we went for morning coffee. Despite the line, we got to the front very quickly and our coffees (Americano and Van Pan latte) were by far the best we had in all our time in California. Highly recommended! read more

Crescent City is a lovely town with lots of wonderful outdoor activities, however sometimes a body just needs to sit down inside and enjoy a cup of coffee. Paragon provides such a place. My almond milk latte was very good - the espresso was strong enough to hold its own and the foam art was lovely. My family enjoyed a variety of treats including egg bites and ginger cookies - of note: there are not many plant based food options so people with vegan leanings should go for the coffee, not the food. Pricing is a little steep for both the espresso drinks and food items, and there is an upcharge for plant based milks which most major coffee houses are eliminating. I enjoyed my visit to Paragon; a little price adjustment and more vegan options for food would encourage me to return more frequently. read more

Great cozy coffee house with a nice selection of drinks and pastries. Paragon reminds me of the old school cafe, what Starbucks used to look like. There were tables and sofas to sit at while you sip your coffee and catch up with you friends. Books and magazines were scattered around for those that are able to get away from their phones for a minute. The drink menu had everything you'd expect, from cordatos to lattes. I just got a cup of coffee for my drink but threw in a yogurt parfait for a healthy morning breakfast. Drink was enjoyable and got me through a long drive later in the day. read more

I can tell it's a local favorite based on the popularity and amount of people settled in to work at some of the comfortable seating when I visited. They have knick knacks in addition to coffee and baked goods. I tried a dirty chai latte with oat milk and while I did enjoy it and could taste the high quality of coffee and chai, I would've preferred a more vanilla and less spicy one. Honestly, a fairly nice coffeehouse with a few passive aggressive signs. It's a comfortable space to sit, and the staff is pleasant if not overly friendly. The pastries seem fine, but I usually just have coffee. My big gripe, is the same gripe I have with a lot of pretentious coffee houses. They only provide Stevia for patrons who don't want their blood sugar raised by regular sugar. Stevia is awful and imparts a licorice taste to coffee, making it awful. Thankfully I carry some Splenda either me, but I shouldn't have to. Splenda is cheap, and you should be catering to your clientele not forcing them to bring sweeteners from their home. Still, I would go back. read more

The chai spices compliment the apple cider flavors. The cheese scallion scone is very good, if slightly underbaked - more akin to a dense biscuit than a true crumbly scone, but I actually prefer it that way! The coffee is good. The service is not. I arrived and stood at the counter with an item from their gift section to purchase with my order. They took so long to get my order I had time to change my mind and put the $12 item back. I ordered. They got my order wrong making my latte hot instead of iced. The whole time I was there the two women behind the counter were ignoring customers. One customer returned a pen and thanked her for it. She didn't respond at all. Another said bye on their way out, no response. There were two customers waiting for the bathroom the entire time I was there. I have no idea if they needed a key because there was no indication the staff had any idea that customers existed. When I got my drink back on ice, the lids didn't fit the cold cups correctly. So now I have a drink for my travels with no lid. I love coffee shops and I would never return to this one unless it was the only option. Maybe it is? I'm from out of town so perhaps this is the only coffee place. read more

We were visiting the Redwoods and stopped here for coffee and bakery items. All was good but I'm not a fan of one bathroom with it situated so that two different lines can form whole people are looking at things. It made for a frustrating wait because I couldn't tell who was actually in line and who wasn't. Move the table or furniture so it's clear where the line to the bathroom is. Just my two cents. I always have to stop here when im home for a visit! Ambience is so serene, calming and cozy. The service is top notch and the workers are super friendly. I went twice this visit and had the eggnog latte and the maple lavender latte. Both are my favorites!! I also tried to pumpkin danish today and it was REALLY tasty.
