The staff here seemed irritated at everything around them. We only interacted with 2 but neither were friendly. The guy helping with ice cream gave the impression he'd rather be anywhere else but there. One of the ice creams we got tasted old. The hot fudge wasn't hot and it looked like it was just clumped on top. After interacting with him, my kids asked if they had done something wrong. I had to explain to them that they were not the problem. Not really the experience you're looking for when you're getting a family treat. The lady at the register also had a sense of irritation. I ordered a burger and added mushrooms. The burger arrived without the mushrooms. I would have mentioned it but i decided I'd rather eat it without them than to interact with them again. The guy behind the counter clearly hated his job to the point it was mildly uncomfortable for the person ordering. The girl working was kind and helpful.. The food was WAY WAY WAY OVERPRICED for what we got. The ice cream looked good but after shelling out $56 for two burgers, 2 fries, and an order of onion rings we were not going to risk it. Stopped by for lunch on vacation, first things I noticed was the filth: dirty floors, walls, fixtures, tables. Next I noticed how dirty the grill was, it even had very old dried out, burnt looking patties sitting on the side of the grill which should have been thrown in the garbage. Also, the oil in the deep fryer was black (which means it's old and hasn't been changed in a long time.) we ordered (against my better judgment) Burgers, tots and sweet potato fries. The burgers were decent, and tasted pretty good but the Fries were BLACK and tasted horrible, the worst I've ever had, and I've had a lot! The tots also tasted bad. I do not recommend. Service wasn't too good either. They didn't have any Ketchup on the table and didn't bring any with the food or ask if we wanted any, they Napkin dispenser was also empty so I had to go searching for napkins. read more

Waited a bit for the person ahead of me to complete their order. Not too long though. I was informed they were out of chocolate ice cream for the malt I ordered and was asked if vanilla with Hershey's syrup would be okay. "Sure. The malt is most important." Ordered onion rings and a cheeseburger, pickles and mustard only. I was asked if I wanted the malt now. Anytime is fine. Then I was informed they were out of Coke. Dr. Pepper - no problem. They put extra ice as I requested. Significant wait for my food, but I was informed no hurry. Dining area was full. As I waited, I was checked on frequently. Had I ordered? Yes. Another staff member offered chocolate brownie ice cream for my malt. That sounded fascinating! So, Sure! Malt was amazing, fresh bun and perfectly cocked patty on the burger. Soooo I'm torn between 3 & 4. We came during the holiday weekend- it was our first time. They had plenty of staff but it looks like they were not working effectively together. The restaurant felt a little disorganized- order then sit down? Sit down and someone comes out? Nope. Order then sit down because they give you a number....then eventually they will bring out the food. Ambiance of the restaurant- it was very busy and loud. They had some cool 80s/90s memorabilia but we didn't really get to check it out because how busy it was. We didn't get to try the ice cream because by the time the food was out the line was wrapped around and starting to go towards the door- bummer. The food didn't come out together. The burgers came out first then the sides. I will say that the food was good. They were definitely hot and fresh. We got the Steakhouse burger & the hubby enjoyed it greatly. I got the Boom Boom Baconater (or something like that) and it was amazing. I wanted more sauce to dip but didn't get to ask for some (huge line). The cheese bombs were my favorite. The soda was Coke products (meh) but they were served in chilled glasses- that was a welcomed treat. I definitely didn't enough room for all the food I ordered. I asked for boxes and the person got side tracked. Personally, it would've been nice to see a food line & an ice cream line. People were being served their ice cream then by the time they got to check out they had basically eaten the whole thing- that's crazy to me. I would be willing to try them again because the food was that good. The service- again...it was a holiday weekend, so I'm not trying to be too harsh. Side note, we left a jacket there and came back a couple hours later & nobody had turned one in & it wasn't in the booth we sat. Hope whoever found it- needed it. (That was a bummer.) read more

I have not been to the diner in a while. I see ownership has changed hands. Not for the better. Two surly young men were behind the counter. Big stupid inappropriate jewelry. Clearly they are family members who don't enjoy their job and do not want to be there. The kid I got: No smile. No what can I get you. He just looked at me. So I told him what I wanted. He also did not know how to make a proper ice cream cone. You just don't plop a scoop on top without securing the ice cream properly. One lick and that ice cream is hitting the floor. He handed it to me with no thank you. No nothing. To be fair the lady taking the payment was better and said thank you. No tip for them. The place looked dirty and disorganized. It used to be cute. I won't be going back. I'll be going someplace where the shop owners are knowledgeable about the customary code of politeness in American society. read more

Had an amazing time at CC diner on a road trip through the area. The restaurant is a walk up and order diner that definitely is the best place in crescent city we tried. The quality and flavor of the food was amazing. If you like shakes or ice cream then have over 30 flavors to choose from for all. The burgers we had were juicy and perfectly cooked while the garlic cheese bombs are amazing. The diner itself is very nostalgic to what an old school diner and ice cream parlor should feel like with history memorabilia on the wall. The servers were friendly and the staff seemed to have a good relationship with the owner who were also there helping out. Definitely would consider coming here again if we passed by. read more

I hate giving this a 3, but I don't have a choice to be honest. Ice cream is on point. Teen staff, and young adults are not always as clean nor as friendly as you would hope. Fries are almost always grease filled and flimsy. Nothing really wrong with the food but I often get stomach cramps when I eat there. It could just be me and my digestion. This was a pretty hefty burger. I could only eat half after eating the tots first. A little too greasy for my liking but it was really good. Veggie burgers at any diner are often a hit or miss. CC diner's veggie burger was definitely a hit! Tasted freshly made with corn and black beans. Yummy toasty bun with pickles, tomato, lettuce and mayo. This is my husband's favorite place to eat in Crescent City and I can see why. I am in town for work and drive past this place a couple times. Figured I'd give it a shot... Ordered the SW Baconator(I wonder if Wendy's knows they use this name?). This burger is like $17 and comes out probably 4" thick. I'm thinking how am I gonna unhinge my jaw to eat it? So I smash it down a bit to be able to take a bite, and the grease and massive amount of sauce that ooze out is crazy. The toppings made the flavor of the burger the meat wasn't so great. I think I went through 20 napkins because it was SO INCREDIBLY MESSY. The sweet potato fries were spot on for sure. Would I order this burger again? My family and my sisters family stopped here while we were camping in Jed Smith. We got ice cream for the 10 of us and some chicken tenders. The service was soooo great.
