Today, two siblings were coughing, sneezing, and had runny noses throughout the class and staff allowed them to remain inside with everyone else. I asked the mother if her children are sick and she said "YES." Had any of the staff cared enough for the well-being of the children in class, they would have also asked the mother this question and told her to take her children home. If there are no makeups, then the studio should be proactive about protecting the health of the other children and enforcing clear policies on illness. My child's well-being comes first, and I can't continue attending a place that doesn't take that seriously.

Hands down, Hathaway Academy of Ballet has demonstrated superior classical dance instruction for our children and many in our community ranging from 3 years old through the pre professional divisions. The directors and instructors are courteous and respectful of all their dancers and their families. My son has ADHD and they not only embraced him, but develped his technique and he thrived! My daughter is very young and only did the recreation program, but all of the teachers (especially Tammy and cooper) were absolutely amazing! Because of DI both of my kids are way above their age level in all genres from just one year of dancing there. The staff is extremely professional, and the owner is just so on top of everything at the studio. The best part of the studio is that none of the teachers or staff (Including the owner) get involved with ANY of the drama at the studio. They place the kids where they will do the best in technique and maturity wise. The only reason why we left is because we moved out of state, however we are going back every year for some of the conventions they participate in so we have the chance to dance with them. They care about molding your dancer into a professional dancer, not just a competitive dancer who stops dancing at 18 when they age out of competitions. They work with the seniors in getting them into the right collages and help them earn scholarships to pay for tuition. The owner and staff are well connected as well to get your foot in the door if you want to go more towards the entertainment industry. The ballet program is top notch with dancers that get into the most prestigious dance schools. (They have placed at least 3 dancers at Juilliard last year). They also have great adult ballet, tap, and hop hop classes that are so much fun! If you have the opportunity to go to DI do it! Also I never said I had to do volunteer hours with the place I was donating it to. That contract was between me and my employer which has nothing to do with the dance company. As a matter of fact I did my hours with Letters Against Isolation which does great work. I sent over 400 cards, letters, greetings, ect. to several people in need. Not to mention the hours and money that I spent making backpacks and water bottles for the kids on the team as well. Yes when things started they were great however things changed as time went on. Teaching style changed. It is never ok to yell at a child and make them cry. It is never ok to tell them they are not doing enough. It is never ok to tell them they are not being a team. If they weren't being a team that is the fault of the team leader which was Tiffany. Let's make sure the credit goes to where it needs to be. The kids on the team won not the teacher not the company the kids did. If it wasn't for the kids and their parents there would have not been any team there would not have been any dancers representing the company. The kids did that. The kids put Tiffany's vision to what it was. Tiffany did not win the kids did.
