Not a good businessman!!! Rich From Paragon Pools In East Northport is in the service business, that means SERVICE!!! I had my pool redone last year(2018)liner ,Pump and more. Pool liner is coming off and I called 6 time in 4 months ,finally Rich gets on the phone and Tell me "I'll Get There when I get there" I asked ,what does that mean Again he said it means "I'll get there when I get there" I said 1 week,2 weeks He said ," I just told you,I'll get there when I get there" Wrong thing to say to a paying client I'm in the Service business for 30 years and I would never tell a paying client that, I'm at site within a week to repair or replace. Service is our business ,that's how we get more business. Do your research before Using Rich and his company Paragon Pool On Larkfield Road In East Northport. I have been using Paragon ever since they opened the ENPT store and I have always been treated with respect. I started taking my business there when another local company was charging me crazy amounts for chemicals and still never got my water right, telling me I needed all sorts of products including one to take copper out of my pool! After kids were swimming they still were getting bad rashes, red eyes, etc...I had enough, went to Paragon, tested my water, told me it was a simple fix with certain chemicals,NO COPPER in my water and what do you know I have had a sparkling"no rash" pool for years now! I trust them and go back every season, and during the season if I need a tweak here and there. read more

Update to my previous review Again, I am floored by Rich's customer service. Last night after he closed the store he came to my house spending almost two hours explaining to me and my son how the pool worked, how we needed to maintain it etc... who does that? I am so grateful to have been fortunate enough to have chosen Paragon Pools. I've read the negative comments written by others and just don't get it. We don't change the core of the person we are- those comments just do not describe the person I've met and have come to rely on and trust. Thank you Rich for all you have done for me and my son. I think I would of lost every dime of the funds in escrow had I gone elsewhere. read more

If I could post a minus star I would . I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company . The manager should take a class in customer relations . I scheduled a pool opening weeks in advance of the busy season. Two days prior to the date I was told they were on schedule and they would call me the morning of on timing . On the day of the opening I called to get a time frame for the service . I was told it's been raining so there was a delay to open . Asked when and was told "oh maybe next week". I said maybe I should find another company and was told in a snarky manner "you just made my day" . They do not return phone calls , they are rude when you finally reach them . They had a Polaris day where you could bring in your polaris pool cleaner and they would repair it with no labor charge, just parts. Dropped it off and they said they would call. No call so I called them the next day. Said it was repaired and the part was $36. Then they told me there was a bench fee of $106. I asked about the no labor charge and she put me on hold to ask. She came back and said I was right, so it was only $36. When I arrived to pick it up they charged me $50. Later I checked online and that was more than double what most companies charge for those parts. Not even sure it was fixed. read more

My pool was literally two weeks old and I was having difficulty with pump. I went into Paragon to try to get a service appointment. Five minutes later, Rich said he would come to my house after an inspection he had in the area. Rich came by and fixed the problem for me. I am so appreciative for his help. It is important when the owner behind a business has a good heart and cares about his customers. I highly recommend Paragon Pools. read more

If there was a minus star I would place it as my rating. The Huntington branch is closed for Winter Hours and it's mid April . They don't return phone calls and when you finally get them and make an appointment weeks in advance for a pool opening , call them to find out what time that day they tell you sorry been raining a lot can't do today , asked when , oh maybe next week . What kind of way is this to run a business. Told manager maybe I should find someone else to open my pool his snarky response was " you just made my day". Last summer was my first owning a pool. The company I hired to open my pool didn't set up my filter correctly and the first 6 weeks of the summer was a disaster. A neighbor referred me to Paragon and Rich was extremely helpful. After getting my filter problem resolved, I made a trip to Paragon every 2 weeks and my water was crystal clear for the rest of the year. read more

One star is too many for this company. We had a horrific experience after scheduling a pool opening several weeks out, confirming the day before, and when the crew came to the house they said hi (and nothing else), looked at the pool, went back to their truck (where I had assumed that they were getting equipment?) drove away. The business owner called to leave an extremely rude message saying that his crew found the pool to be open and were "turned away". The crew saw that the cover was off, but the pool was green and the pump was sitting on the patio next to it. The store owner was unbelievably unprofessional although we sent him pictures of the pool equipment and pool being clearly not open-- also, why would we have confirmed the appointment and continued to follow up through his nonsense if we had already opened the pool? Absolutely appalling behaviour from the owner and the pool is still not open. read more

A++ customer service. I go in weekly for water testing and usually deal with Rich. I have never been up-sold. Only sold exactly what I need to maintain crystal clear water. He carries everything out to the car for me even when I tell him it is not necessary. I ask him a lot of questions and he is always helpful and pleasant and so is his staff. The water is computer tested and the results come up right on the computer screen so accurate. He is patient and kind and explains everything, writes up everything I need to do, so it is an easy process. I highly recommend Rich and Paragon Pools for your weekly water testing. read more

I was very disappointed with Paragon Pools. They opened our pool May 25th and left even though the pressure gauge read zero pressure. When I called to let them know I was told that someone would come by to check it out but they couldn't give me a date, and no one ever did show up. In the meantime we tried changing the pressure gauge, backwashing but nothing seemed to help. I called Paragon again but they said that they were just too busy to send anyone. In fact Aaron in Paragon pool in Huntington put me in the calendar for 6/16, only to discover that they took me off to do bigger jobs. After I waited patiently for 3 weeks I finally told them I would have to call another pool company. It is my understanding that when they open a pool that they make sure everything runs properly... I'm not an expert but I could clearly see that there was no water pressure in the pool! On June 10th Pool Dr came to check out my pool equipment and discovered that whoever opened our pool forgot to put the impeller into the pump! Needless to say I called to let Rich know what had happened. I figured it was a pretty important mistake and that he should know. He was surprisingly uncaring . He didn't even apologize and said that everyone has to do what's best for them, and that for every customer he loses he has 15 more coming in to replace them! Wow! I was very disappointed at the lack of customer service and poor treatment I received from Paragon. Paragon was very unprofessional. I am happy to report that Pool Dr on the other hand didn't even charge us for their visit, they felt sorry for us. Looks like I'll be going to Pool Doctor in East Northport from now on. I used to go to a big chain store for my pool testing needs, but every time I went for a test I always had to get chemicals that I didn't think that I really needed. I was right!! After getting results from the chain store for all types of chemicals I went to Paragon just to compare and I was told that all I needed was a couple of bags of salt and that everything else was fine. Since then I will never go anywhere else. Rich and his staff have never been anything but great to me and even help loading my car. I highly recommend Paragon. read more

Very disappointed in Paragon Pools. We have been using this pool store since installing our pool in 2017. We go every week for a water test and if needed buy whatever chemicals are required. So far as of this date we have spent $320 for pool chemicals from Paragon. When my husband went for the test this week he was told by Rich that we were not customers because we have not purchased anything from them (which is simply not true) and the pool test costs him $5.00 per test! My husband tried to explain to him that for the past 5 weeks now every time they tested the water we were told that the water was "perfect" and needed nothing! So how would we be purchasing anything else if everything is "perfect". My husband offered to pay the $5.00 for the test but Rich refused the money and said he will charge him from now on. It's a sure bet that we will not go back to that store again. If they want to change their policy perhaps their sign should read "free pool testing WITH PURCHASE".
