STAY AWAY FROM THIS POOL COMPANY. I called to get a filter warranty issue resolved on May 4th, and said they had no other availability and had to schedule me all the way out for June 6th. I accepted this appointment as the other pool companies on the warranty list for Hayward told me that they did not do warranty assistance (wtf?!) The pool doctor called me this morning on JUNE 2ND to tell me that they don't do warranty assistance either, even though they are also on the website for Hayward filter warranties. What an irresponsible and sorry ass company. Go somewhere else. read more

Pool doctor install my new pool and equipment a couple of years ago this year some of the equipment failed and they were back here with new warranty replacement items. They sub contract out work to vendors that do not care, You need to watch to make sure it is done properly ,to assure No short cuts . The installation of some components were not hooked up wires just left hanging. Had to call manufacture to complete the electrical work. Workers just not trained . The staff at Pool Doctor are great. They know their stuff, are very professional and don't try to upsell you. If you have a problem with something you bought, they fix it or replace it without argument. This came in very handy when I had issues with a $1,500 pool robot. They declared it a lemon, and swapped it out with an equivalent model of another robot vacuum from another top tier company. They even gave me $100 gift card to make up the difference between the cost of the other robot and this one. You can't ask for better service than that from any company. Got our pool redone, which for context is over 40+ years old, and no other company wanted to repair it. Paul provided a very reasonable price and a 4 day turnaround time. Of course dealing with an old pool means it all doesn't go as planned, but everything that came up was directly communicated to me via email and or/phone. His workers are very professional and timely, and did not leave any mess. They were done in 4 days as promised even with all the extra issues that came up (faults with an old pool). Paul is very honest, professional, and straightforward. He makes you feel at ease, which is important when you're dealing with a big renovation, which typically can be stressful. I honestly have no cons, except that I wish I had decided to work with them sooner to upgrade my pool. After going to four different pool places to get my filter repaired these folks said they would give it a shot. They said they would look at it and give me a price. I told them I didn't care how much it cost just please fix it. I got a call three days later from Mike A. He said the problem was minor and I can pick it up. He said because he only worked on it for a little over a half hour there was no charge. NO CHARGE? In this day and age that is totally unheard of. These people are not only good, they are honest. They knew they could have charged me $200 and I would have been happy to pay it as long as my filter was repaired. Don't think that they will fix everything for free but just knowing that they won't "fix" anything that really isn't broken should make you feel good. I highly recommend these people for any or all of your pool needs. I think you will be very satisfied. read more

Our experience with pool doctor was great last year and everyone seem to be helpful. We ended up purchased a $3000 safety cover for pool last year because we were pretty happy with their service last year. This years experience tho...first of all they opened up our pool, without cleaning up the filter, making sure everything works right. They literally OPENED the pool and that's pretty much it. Of course I'm not pool expert so maybe they are not suppose to do that, then in my opinion spending $400 for opening up the cover is pretty pricy. Second, we called and scheduled appointment for checking up out pool system because it is not working properly ever since it was opened. We waited all day Friday, called at the end of the day, the person told me they can't make it that day and they'll come Saturday (we had to rescheduled our other appointments because we want to make sure we are home when they come), never showed up and when we called, they basically told me if they can make it they will but if they can't then it is what it is. They didn't showed up and they never contact us to let us know. Honestly I would not be so upset if they called and rescheduled. This is just not the way to do business and makes me feel like they don't really give a crap about the customer service. read more

Excellent team, products and service! Like many of us on Long Island, I used 1/2 dozen or more other pool companies before meeting the Paul Doctor team. They did a full liner replacement (unground) including new piping and returns. The quality was excellent including reviewing and recommendations on liner and changing our system. They also did NOT recommend changing some of my equipment since they were in good working condition (no uncharging here). The team on the field and in the office are exceptional. Paul the rep fr Pool Doctor not only called me back in a timely manner but was a pleasure to work with. Everything went exactly as he said it would. Price wasn't the cheapest but it was extremely reasonable and I chose them. I have a friend that uses them all the time and recommended them. Had the pool redone by them 2 years ago. Liner started pulling out & we called them. Two of their "techs" came with a mallet and a screwdriver. Told us they have seen worst so when it gets worse call them otherwise they would damage liner if they tried to fix it. read more

Overall I give 5 stars to the pool doctor workers who open and close pools and installations. These three guys were exceptional polite helpful considerate going above and beyond to help out there customers. I only wish I could say that about the customer service representative I spoke to this morning about scheduling. Polite yes. But was more concerned about accommodating her own schedule rather then that of the customer. Nothing else mattered but her schedule, certainly not my time. Made no attempt to help, Offered no helpful suggestions other then sorry. Sorry for being unhelpful. I guess! read more

Terrible service and obnoxious workers. They took over a month to get our pool clean because they kept pushing us off since things were paid for. Went into Pool Doctor because my pool was losing water. Spoke with one of the employees there about how to best detect the location of the leak. Purchased a small syringe device filled with food coloring and was given specific instructions as to how to go about looking for it. He told me start with you light... The light is usually the culprit... Well he was right. The entire pool niche and light needed to be evaluated. They came the very next day and determined that the light niche was completely corroded and excavation from the outside of the pool wall needed to be done in order to replace the pool light niche. The owner, Paul came by later that day, we discussed pricing and he was extremely fair. They returned the following day and within a few hours the pool was back to being filled up. Throughout the process, I called the office for questions etc and was always handled with courteous, kind and extremely knowledgeable customer service associates. This business has been here for many years in East Northport. They definitely do the right thing by their customers. We will NEVER use anyone else ever again. They are all professionals. Pool Doctor installed my pool 6 years ago. I have never had any issues and my pool looks/runs great. Every year they close my pool and every year it opens immaculate. Since I open myself, I always forget something. Whenever I call/text, they get right back to me and answer any question or troubleshoot right over the phone. This week, my heater wasn't working (I forgot to open the valve). Paul Jr came right away and did a complete walk through of my backyard and pool equipment. I would not go to anyone else. Just had a new liner, skimmers, 8' stairs and salt chlorinator put in this Fall. The job went well! They covered the pool and opened it up in the Spring. It looks like a new pool! Paul, the owner, came out to go over the salt chlorinator and also came out to check when I couldn't turn the handle to backwash the filter. All was fine and very appreciative! Had a Disaster with flooding of my pool this last storm. The water was brown and Opaque. Pool doctor did a chemical treatment and then vacuumed the pool twice. Paul, one of the owners, even stopped by to see how things were going. He back washed my clogged filter and applied more DE to the water. In a few days my pool was back to normal. Have used pool doctor for the past 20 years. Highly recommend them! read more

I had a pool installed last year. They did not put the equipment for filtration in the right spot to conform to code with the Town of Huntington. They always say they are too busy to fix issues. Then they sent a technician that upset my wife AND asked our religion and said we can afford any price when presenting his bill for opening of the pool. When I complained to Mike because you can't get the owner on the phone after you give him your last check to buy the pool. I said I wanted a call back and was very upset. I never got a call from the owner. They are not responsive. Don't use these people. They don't really care about their service or the staff they send out. They don't call back and if they don't fix the installation they put in the wrong place I will sue them, and keep posting complaints. read more

Unprofessional! I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for tomorrow and I get a call tonight at 7:30pm that they are cancelling because they won't be in my area! They took my address when I made the appointment 2 weeks ago and just realized this the night before?! They also told me to stop filling up the pool because they were going to pressure test it. So now my pool is not usable and I have to make an appointment somewhere else! I would never recommend this waste of time company to anyone! read more
