I normally don't write reviews but this was such a good experience I had to! I flew into San Diego yesterday morning for the very first time and decided to try out this juicery! The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the tables were outside which was very much appreciated! When I walked inside, I was immediately greeted & was asked if I had any questions on the menu. I had some trouble deciding what I wanted and I asked Julian what he enjoyed. He gave me a couple options which included the Strawberry Glow, the Mint Chocolate Chip or the Muscle Mender. I finally decided on the strawberry glow and was very interested to see how I would like it & decided to pair with a bee sharp açaí bowl. Julian was super friendly and asked if it was my first time at the juicery. I proceeded to tell him that it was my first time in San Diego, so I was very excited to try a new place. Julian's service was very quick and efficient!! Once my items were done, he handed them off to me and I went outside to finally try my delicious breakfast :) When I tell you....HANDS DOWN the BEST breakfast I've had in a long time! Both items were extremely refreshing and delicious!! I was honestly very surprised at how well I enjoyed the avocado and dates paired in the strawberry glow smoothie. When I first walked in, there were three people working; Not one person said, "Hello," or, "welcome." Then I walked up waiting for someone to take my order, I was waiting for at least 30 seconds until I realized that you had to do your own order on the screen. Once I realized that, I started ordering. My daughter, who is three, was talking and laughing and she let out an excited little scream because she loves açaí bowls. I noticed one of the girls look up from what she was doing and glared at my daughter, and then she made eye contact and gave a look to the other girl working. I was the only one in the store and they were both clearly bothered by a three year old. I stopped my order, and said, "I am not spending my money here." And left. This is the worst experience I have ever had at this chain. The other location on the street and the Del Mar location are fantastic and have welcomed me and my family. The price was not bad, but my point of comparison is NYC. I see other people mention the price isn't good, but this area is very touristy. Also, I got a basic juice. They serve it on a more shallow bowl to make it appear larger but it's the same size as a typical bowl, but maybe they just give a bit more banana than the typical place. The granola was the crunchiest granola I've ever had. Me and my friend both thought our jaw was hurting from how hard we were chewing. Parking is reasonably easy to find as long as you don't mind walking a few blocks around this grid of streets in the village of La Jolla. The menu contained juices, smoothies, and bowls. The first two were available in 16 oz and 20 oz sizes. From the sixteen preset combinations, I chose a large Dragon Fruit Blast smoothie. The ingredients were pitaya, coconut water, pineapple, and banana. Everything seemed fresh, and the service was pretty rapid. From a price and quality standpoint, I gave 3.5 stars as the product was pretty comparable with other juice and smoothie shops I have tried. read more

Went to this juicery, and saw black debrief in my drink. Didn't drink my juice out of suspension and brought it home to inspect. I put the juice through a strainer to separate the black pieces and what I found was unbelievable. In the strainer are little black pieces of PLASTIC that have been shredded in the juicer. I'm pretty sure their juicer is cracked and chipping away in peoples juices. PLEASE DO NOT BUY JUICES WITH PLASTIC IN THEM. These micro plastics are HIGHLY TOXIC to your body and major hormone disrupters. A juice from Parakeet Juicery is going to do more harm than good to your body. So disappointing. Wasn't really impressed! The store is really nicely decorated, but it's very loud and crowded because of the lack of waiting area. I ordered the Dragon Fruit Blast, which was incredibly underwhelming and lacked flavor. I think if you're looking for an aesthetic looking smoothie for a picture it's a good choice, but for 9$ I would not recommend ordering. The wheatgrass shot however is very well done and is a generous serving! Would recommend stopping by for this! Unfortunately they still put vanilla protein powder in, however the smoothie still tasted fine so I kept it as I didn't want to make them remake it. Upon drinking it further I found many small plastic pieces. I found over 7 small pieces in my drink before just throwing the drink away. I would've asked them to remake it but at that point I had already left. I am very disappointed mainly because of how much these smoothies cost. One smoothie and one health shot was 25 dollars.
