I visited Juice Caboose today, and unfortunately, I had another very disappointing experience with the girl working there. This is not my first time having an unpleasant experience with her. Each time, I have found her attitude to be very rude, unfriendly, and unwelcoming. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but this has happened more than once, and as a customer, I don't think I should be treated this way. I came in expecting good customer service, but her attitude once again made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Came here today. This would have been a 5/5 if the bananas they blended the pitaya with weren't so OVERRIPE! The whole smoothie bowl just tasted and smelled like overripe banana, additionally the ones they gave me with it were overripe as you can tell. Really disappointed that they used old fruit. This is a quaint little shop with outdoor patio eating. The sandwiches were so fresh. I had the Albacore tuna sandwich. I love a well made sandwich and this was definitely one. I also had the Kapha Pacifier - ginger, beets, carrot, and celery. I loved it! I could eat there daily. I felt good eating there and will go back again and again. I've been coming to the La Jolla Juice Kaboose for many years and really appreciate the fresh food and staff. I visit once to twice a week. In general, you hire very friendly individuals. I am leaving this review regrettably because the weekend manager (a gal with dark hair) was just so incredibly rude. I have seen her act this way with other customers in the past and just figured she was having a difficult day, but having experienced her poor attitude multiple times I wanted to leave a note and make sure the ownership understands that they can do better. It's a great location and you have an excellent menu but the Manager/Supervisor really makes it unfriendly to visit. I appreciate you listening. read more

So many of my college acai bowls were here at Juice Kaboose. It was the first acai place in downtown La Jolla, and still stands strong many years later. I always get their acai bowls, and have tried the pitaya ones too. The pitaya is a bit runny, which is actually what their bowls base tends to lean towards. I like firmer bowls, but Juice Kaboose always has friendly and efficient service and lots of fresh fruit, which is a big plus. They haven't upcharged their bowls in the last few years, so that's a kind gesture. Especially in pricey LJ, they could easily increase the prices...but they make it affordable for students and acai lovers who don't have that much to spend. I also love that their granola is nut-free, which is a big deal for those with nut allergies. They also have add-on toppings like coco flakes and more seeds and nutrient-rich things. I've heard good things about the sandwiches and other items they sell. They also are in an area that has outdoor seating, which is shared with the small plaza of other shops nearby. I always make it a point to come back to Juice Kaboose if I'm in the LJ area...but my favorite acai spots are in PB and OB for the icier acai texture. read more

I've ordered here a couple times as it's close to my work. I like that the yelp app allows you to schedule ahead for when you want your order ready so it's very convenient! Food is great! I like the portion sizes as they are big and a real bang for your buck considering it's la jolla. Staff is rude lol. I usually don't ask too many questions but every time I go in there to pick up my food they always look bothered or in the middle of their conversation and I'll be standing there for a while waiting for them.
